Does weapon damage vary depending on your level? Like if I found a power fist at level 6 that did 30 damage, would the damage have been higher if I had found it later?
Protip for people wanting to build stupidly high structures Build at sea/river level on water-level platforms. Overall height is a linear measurement, so if you build from the lowest point possible you can go up to 7-10 stories (possibly more, haven't tried all the locations).
So I'm trying to get into Diamond city but I accidentally killed one of the Diamond city guards on my way there. Now all the guards in front of the gate are hostile! Or are they normally hostile? [editline]10th November 2015[/editline] My nearest save before that was over an hour and a half ago...
Fallout 4 is easily my GOTY. It's pretty much lived up to my expectations and then some.

OOOH BABY THAT HIGH SPEED INTERNET.
very very minor earlygame spoilers [sp]its great how everyone just believes that you actually did emerge from a 200 year cryogenic stasis whenever you tell them, good job bethesda writing team[/sp]
tbh if I lived in the same wasteland as mutant pickle dogs and giant death-chameleons I'd probably believe it too Not like anything normal comes out of the other vaults
Does weapon damage vary depending on your level? Like if I found a power fist at level 6 that did 30 damage, would the damage have been higher if I had found it later?
no, but the damage of the weapon will go up if you level up str and unarmed/fist weapon damage
how do you put bobbleheads down? and if you put nukeacola down, and such, does it stay there forever?
There were speculations for there to be shields in the game. Are there shields in the game? like for melee and stuff.
sup thread im the resurrected corpse of julius caesar with my body reconstructed by ancient aliens, just got out of a pyramid full of tech from 5000 years from now
i mean your character is running around with a pipboy on their arm, which is something no other wastelander has afaik
HTC One M8 confirmed too big for Pipboy qq Oh well, at least I got a sweet stand [t]http://i.imgur.com/ynKXBvg.jpg[/t]
i charted it up to that initially but most players won't be wearing their vault suits after the first hour or so of the game, by which you probably haven't even gone to any major cities or anything how would people know you were a vault dweller aside from the rumor on the radio, which even then would be pretty dubious
As Ninja Gnome said, you have a Pip Boy. The only other people with Pip Boys got it from a vault one way or another.
It does seem the only underarmor you can upgrade is the vault suit yes, and it's also the only undersuit that provides decent rad resistance, but it never gets any ballistic resistance, so that's the trade-off. Also upgrading it more than doubles it's weight which makes sneaking harder
So I'm sure you guys have all encountered it already, but [sp]the fucking Galleria full of screwed-up Mister Handys[/sp] is hilarious. I've never seen such varied and interesting excuses for combat.
I think maybe the biggest step up in this game is the quality of some of the characters. Like, not all of them obviously but there's a decent amount that are actually pretty memorable, [sp]Piper, Valentine, the store owners in Diamond City, Danse, the mayor's secretary are all really distinct.[/sp] I've slept since I last played and I can actually remember the names and personalities of the characters in this game. I've literally never been able to say that about a Beth game before.
As much shit as Bethesda gets over this I thought Oblivion was actually pretty good about it. Everyone remembers the Emperor at least, and I remember Martin, Lucien Lachance, Gray Fox, Uriel, Sheogorath, Owyn, Mankar Cameron, Valen Dreth.
I just noticed enemies sometimes react based on what you're wearing. I'm wearing the vault 111 suit with armor layered over it and a super mutant called me "stupid blue lady".
One time I was sneaking by raiders after an initial fire fight and one said "careful I think he's got a stealthboy." Man if I had a stealth you wouldn't even been able to say that. Also I wouldn't have had to bail off the roof of the building into a river five minutes later to escape.
Having fun fooling around with energy guns, but I am thinking of a full charisma, empire builder character with a focus on settlements and not killing things (or, not killing things yourself). Could this work out, or is speech no longer as great as it was in previous titles?

It sort of makes sense with the female pc background.

It was Skyrim that was totally awful with characters, only ones I can think of off-hand that weren't plot centric like Miraak and Hermaeus Mora are Serana, Sven and J'Zargo. Serana is memorable because she's awful, and J'Zargo and Sven are purely memorable because of my entirely imagined personalities for them. edit: by the way, has anyone tried using the power armor spotlight in deep water? curious how that would look
oh my god.. Fallout 4 maybe or may not have caused my GPU to Windows Device Manager Error 43.. I've downloaded the nvidia FO4 ready driver just for this game, and the damn driver crashed a total of 4 times before it finally made windows go "Nope, error 43. Gonna pretend this hardware doesn't exist now". I'm typing this shit in 800x600 res right now. I can barely read anything. Spent the last 2 hours trying to get this fixed.. eugghhh no progress at all.
That sounds terrible. Hopefully you are able to get it fixed.
I'll assume it's because I haven't updated drivers yet, but wow, the godrays take a shit on my FPS and nearly lock up my game
Anyone have vendors in their settlements? I built some shops and assigned people to them, but they never actually stand by them.
i thought that too but then it makes no sense why [sp]other people can open up abandoned vaults and live in them[/sp]
because the vaults are like giant chemical plants, once the workers and technicians and engineers leave, who's going to keep the lights on, the air clean, and the water running. also ive always thought people (rightly) have a superstition about the vaults being cursed or something, i mean how many empty vaults are there in the wasteland that are just filled with horrors, not many people are going to want to gamble on it unless they are despirate like the powder gangers or the fiends
how do you put bobbleheads down? and if you put nukeacola down, and such, does it stay there forever?
Build a bobblehead stand, it'll give you an option to put items inside it like a standard container. Put your bobbleheads inside it and it'll automatically place them on the top.
I'll assume it's because I haven't updated drivers yet, but wow, the godrays take a shit on my FPS and nearly lock up my game
You're in luck, they're just plain unoptimized and drivers won't fix them! Set to low for no noticeable impact on fidelity.
very very minor earlygame spoilers [sp]its great how everyone just believes that you actually did emerge from a 200 year cryogenic stasis whenever you tell them, good job bethesda writing team[/sp]
it's a video game pal. are you one of these guys that praises obsidian like they're the saviour of the fallout series? you could say exactly the same about new vegas. why would anybody believe that you were shot in the head, buried and then dug up by a robot?
it's a video game pal. are you one of these guys that praises obsidian like they're the saviour of the fallout series? you could say exactly the same about new vegas. why would anybody believe that you were shot in the head, buried and then dug up by a robot?
[sp]In that case, model not withstanding, they could probably see a bullet wound on your head. A lot more believable than being frozen since before the war. Goodsprings knows because it happened there, the khans know because they're the ones who gatted you. Other people can probably tell from either Victor, or the actual wound. No matter how you shake it though saying "Yeah I've been frozen for 200 years and just woke from my nap!" is crazy so it's funny when they're reaction is just "Yeah that's nice."[/sp]
In that case, model not withstanding, they could probably see a bullet wound on your head.
and in 4 we have the 111 jumpsuit and pipboy
