I hacked one of the Mr. Handy's at Diamond City and now he won't stop following me
Wait, is there a difference between modifying weapons at workbenches and actual mods?
Don't think so, mods are just prebuilt stuff you can put right on your gun instead of having to spend the resources to craft it
Is there any difference between Hard and Survival difficulty beyond health recovery speed?
So I am looking at the guidebook, I think the ending going around is pretty fake. Major Story/Side Quest Spoiler [sp] The book is mentioning that there is small boy you meet at the Institute that will give you 3 secret side quests "Think of it as bonding you missed when you were in the deep freeze." After the side missions he gives you a "Wazer Wifle" [/sp]
Actual Spoilers for the actual ending, this is the climax to the story: [sp]Shaun is taken from the cryo chamber 150 years after the bombs drop, before you wake up and exit it yourself. Which means you saw what happened, passed out for some time; and woke up thinking it just happened. You continue your search for your son before ending up at the Institute; either in an act of war or an act of peace. Whichever choice of entry is made, the player comes across the 'leader' of the Android Institute; a sick, old, human man. The man; named "Father" tells you of the Institute and how he came to be the leader of them; before dropping the ball on you. 'Father' is Shaun. He has grown to be around 50 years older then you and has been situated to run the Institute; after being raised by 'them' since childhood. This leaves the player with a moral dilemma of how to go from there.[/sp]
[sp]From then on, the endings of the game depend on which faction you sided with. If you side with the Brotherhood the last mission is about you defeating 'Father' and taking down the Institute (with the help of returning Liberty Prime).
If you side with The Institute then the last mission involves you rigging Liberty Prime to destroy the giant Brotherhood airship, before destroying Liberty Prime 'again' yourself[/sp]
[sp]The other 'endings' are just blowing up the Institute, but with a different faction then the Brotherhood. They're pretty much the equivalent of the Yes Man and Mr.House endings of New Vegas.
All in all there are two different endings you can go through, 3 of which involve blowing up the institute; and the last involves joining the Institute and killing all of the Brotherhood.
The "kid that gives side quests" you are talking about is a Synth version of the old 'Shaun' made to fuck with the Main Character, except aged 10 instead of being a new born[/sp]

It also affects the damage you do a little bit and raises the chances of Legendary NPCs spawning
[sp]Heh, Valentine will comment on the mysterious stranger if he appears[/sp]
How do you make supply lines between settlements with that local leader perk?
I have a decent rig (I think) is there any thing I can do to make my game run a bit smoother while not looking too bad?
I'd be happy if they could add snap toggle for building mode and perhaps some sort of mode to allow collision on the objects to clip through, so I can build inside existing structures.

Go into workshop mode. Look at a settler.
Press Q/L1.
I'm out of missions and completed the main story by [sp]becoming the leader of the institute[/sp]. Where should I go now?
Ok who was the stupid son of a bitch who thought it was a good idea to only include ONE FUCKING FIVE GIG INSTALL CD WITH THE PHYSICAL COPY WHEN THE GAME IS 24 GIGS.
Thanks Bethesda for making me download 19 gigs of a game because you're presumptive pricks.
This sucks. I have a 5:4 monitor. Why the fuck didn't Bethesda put in different aspect ratios such as 4:3, 5:4, and 21:9? There are quite a few people who still do use these different aspect ratios. I hope to hell that they are going to add those in a later patch, because I'm currently having to jury rig it and it's fucking up the UI and the lockpicking minigame is invisible.
Can anyone confirm if there is a way to change appearance? Heard of there maybe being a plastic surgeon but I'm not entirely sure and don't want to progress any further if there isn't.

You think that's bad? To add to that, I am now experiencing a bug where the Steam automatically deletes all the downloaded files and resets the progress to zero. Literally deleted 12GB of game. And the workarounds have mixed feedbacks on them so I might as well be completely fucked.
Is anyone else having horrible performance issues using AMD GPUs?
My 7950 is doing alright on High.
Just noticed some super time saving handy tips for PC players.
You can press E instead of enter to confirm on screens and if you hold Shift while in buy mode you can use WASD instead of the arrow keys.

Diamond City has a plastic surgeon.

You're not on a data cap are you?

[sp] Yes, in diamond city. There's a barbershop too.[/sp]
So is there any reason why setting ipresetinterval to 0 and capping the frame rate to 60 wouldn't work? Honestly, I know how screwy Skyrim got with doing this but since I used swords it didn't affect me too much by leaving it on 1. The input delay from vsync in FO4 though literally prevents me from hitting anything unless I strictly use VATS, and even then my guy sucks. It is making the game from being awesome to play to being irritating that I can't shoot anything and I die easier.
I just uncapped it and used Nvidia Control panel to cap it to 60. You might be able to do something similar with AMD, but I'm not sure.
So I can't even disable Godrays at all, I set it to off, but it resets itself to low instead, and it looks atrocious.

Thank you. My keyboard has no arrow keys
I think I may have missed a lot
in fact it's not even the same thread any more

Anyone else getting this thing where your textures turn muddy after playing for awhile?
Uh what are you guys talking about? In my game, I've just been able to use the mouse button to select the options.
Is Desdemona's outfit like a unique thing that only she has? If I check her inventory via console, it just says it's called "fatigues" which sounds like it's some generic piece of clothing, but I've not seen anyone else in the wasteland wearing it nor have I seen it for purchase anywhere. It looks really damn cool, I really want it.
I fucking love the Diamond City Radio DJ.
"Guess they'll probably be on their way soon then... right? *breathes in* oOOH WE'RE GONNA DIE!! HHhooo... Here's... Uranium Rock... A song about people getting rich from uranium. Heehah... that worked out real well for us, didn't it? I'm joking. Just joking. It went poorly!"
Whereabouts on the map is Charlestown?

I'm not a fan of him. He just sounds so boring and his dialogue is so cheesy(I suppose that's the point but it stopped being funny after the first hour or so). One of the other things I'm not a fan of with Fallout 4's radio is the fact that the music itself feels like it has no identity. It just feels like it's an amalgamation of Civil Defense Spot and Galaxy New Radio. I would have much rather had them find 20 new songs rather than going with 40+ ones that I've heard before.
