I also don't get the ammo meta in this game. Fusion Cells are actually more common than fucking 5.56 how the hell did you manage that Beth.
5.56 is literally the rarest ammo in my game, only found on turrets and a Super Mutant with an assault rifle one in a blue moon.
Shotgun shells are also rarer than I'd like, I've held off using any sort've shotgun because of it, though shotguns feel really meh this time around anyways.
.308 I thought was decent in supply for the damage it did, but I stopped using it entirely once I fully modified a Combat Rifle.

Shotguns are meh this time around? Yes, the ammo is rare but I find myself not using the shotgun because it feels overpowered. I can kill most creatures with 2-3 shots with the combat shotty. Heck, I had a shotgun that dealt 250 damage per shot! Plus they FEEL amazing.
And if you modify the combat rifle to use .308 it deals more damage than it can with .45
And yes, 5.56 is super rare for no real reason. The Assault rifle is actually really meh either way so it's weird

I hate how every raider and their dog has 5 of them and they just instantly kill you
and when you use them against them they don't do much at all in comparison
How do you get good weapons? Pretty much everything I have is around 25 - 40 damage, and most of the time, I have to hide in a corner taking potshots, just to kill one super mutant.
Kinda pissed that the [sp]Atom Cats Paint Job[/sp] only works on the T-60. I just want all my power armor to match without an ugly color
These synth grenades are fucking awesome, it's like having a portable army in your pocket!

.45 is far more plentiful due to enemies with SMGs, so I felt no reason to switch over to .308.
My laser rifle's currently doing 150 per shot and the ammo is far more common than shells.

I've played Fallout 3 and just started on Fallout 4, but I feel like I'm missing out because I have never tried customizing weapons or clothing because I don't seem to get how it works.
How do I make a scope, supressor or other mods to the 10mm gun, just as an example?

Use a weapon bench in a settlement to mod guns.
