So I got on eBay and got the pip boy edition. I'm excited, though I already had a copy in the mail that I now will have to return.
So skills, reputation and karma have been removed while a shit story, the same boring old shooting mechanics and mediocre graphics + Gamebryo remain?
Well doesn't that sound like progress!
Can't wait for Fallout 5 where the SPECIAL system, the perks and the dialogue options will finally be removed as well.
After all, they're just getting in the way guys, they're not necessary, they've never been fun in the first place, get with the times people.
uh im not sure if your trying to be funny or you haven't played the game.
Is there any ini settings for better performance?

Christ who let NMA in here.

Also I found the [sp]Thompson SMG. I think I'm in love with this thing, it's so satisfying to shoot.[/sp]
So has the FOV fix been... fixed?
The one in the old thread never worked for me.
I tried the FOV solution provided earlier in this thread and it kinda half works. It seems to snap back to 80 most of the time.
I thought with all the drama of no FOV sliders on other games they'd at least include this.
If anyone else has this problem, what I did was alt tab out to pause the game, quicksave, then restart the game and continue.
Done that myself, I'm getting specifically stuck when it freezes your character still at the final character confirmation screen upon exiting the vault: https://www.reddit.com/r/fo4/comments/3s4y20/psa_getting_stuck_at_terminals_here_is_a_fix/
Lots of people having this issue.
Is there anyway to snap to a grid when placement objects?
Had my first run in with ghouls. They do not fuck around.
So god rays are a screen-space effect and not a real effect like metro or STALKER. Game looks fantastic IMO but I was kinda hoping for STALKER-like godrays for full atmosphere

Did you try the refreshini command as well? That's supposed to stop that from happening. Also there's different settings for third person than there is for first person.
Anyone see any centaurs yet

[sp] They've been replaced i think.. [/sp]
Is there any way to "snap" building prefabs like in the E3 demo?

I wish I had enough ammo for it to use it, I only have 16 .45 rounds.

[sp]With what? The wiki has almost nothing yet[/sp]

[sp] They have mutant hounds or some shit, they basically look like a pickle with legs and a really ugly face. [/sp]

[sp]Some sort of super mutant dog[/sp]

[sp]I feel like they were removed in favor of Mutant Mutts.[/sp]
God dammit I hate how fast this thread moves sometimes.

What are you talking about, that peak looks great!
My game had been on delivery since 7 this morning. Just to taunt me a UPS truck drove though the neighborhood but didn't stop at my house.

That peak speed tho.
So you can only have one companion, right? Like, if I wanna take on another companion, I'd have to leave dogmeat behind?
[sp]Would have been cool to have both, I value variety in enemies a lot in games like these[/sp]
I wish Ron Perlman was the one voicing the main character.
Here's some good general companion tips I found for F4
-If you give a companion a more powerful weapon than what they start with, they will use it – along with any ammo you gave them.
-Don’t sell the companion’s default weapon – as long as they are using it, they will have infinite ammo.
-You can romance certain companions – just keep playing with them until the option comes up. The higher your charisma level, the better shot you have with them. There are seven romanceable companions, regardless of what gender you are.
-When you start the game, you will have two choices of companions: Codsworth the Mr. Handy-like robot, or Dogmeat. Try them both if you like.
-If your companion kills an enemy, you don’t receive XP unless you also damaged it (just shoot it once and you get credit).
-Once you earn the perk from maxing out the relationship with a companion, you have it regardless of whether or not the companion is with you.
-If you lose track of a companion and didn’t specifically send them somewhere (it occasionally happens when the story forces a companion on you), look for the sent off companion where you first met them.
But they do have hair physics.
Never realized that because I used one of the shorter hairstyles for my female character. Sorry for being dumb.

It's actually so slow that it thinks it's going impossibly fast when it starts sometimes. It's like a slug with delusions of grandeur.
Are the workbench items synced or are they all separate? Is local leader the perk to get if I want all my shit synced?
I love how the companions talk to each another when you switch between them. i.e. Preston telling Dogmeat to not worry and that he'll take care of me.
