Question:
Does anyone know an easy way to identify "base" level apparel? Like the Vault 111 Jumpsuit, where you can still add limb armors on top of the main base apparel. I keep finding all this cool apparel but when I equip it, I can't add the arms/legs/torso layers on top of them. The little Vaultboy in the Pip-Boy also doesn't properly seem to highlight when you're about to remove all your armor and replace it with another base level apparel.
Anyone know?
Oh shit, was not expecting this little detail:
If you find a mining hat, put it on, and turn on your pip boy light.
Instead of your pip boy, the helmet turns on and acts like the headlamp on your power armor.
That's pretty cool, as I was hoping to find a projected light that didn't require the suit:
Was it scripted for a brotherhood strike team to drop in at Robotics Pioneer Park? They showed up out of nowhere and wiped out the super mutants and an alpha deathclaw with me.
Having dug around via console Brotherhood teams are a random encounter.
[sp]Is there a way to get to that terminal in the polymer labs during the Underground Undercover quest without having to hack the expert level security terminal first?[/sp]
edit: Nevermind I found the alternate route through the ceiling

No, it's not a bug, it's just that when you have a low relationship with Dogmeat he'll do the opposite of what you tell him to. :v:

I was really thrown off when I got the quest where you have to go into the Glowing Sea to find the [sp]runaway Institute scientist[/sp] because I thought the Glowing Sea was actually out in the ocean somewhere, not an irradiated wasteland with nothing in it but radscorpions and deathclaws.
So do settlers get gun upgrades on their own or do you need to give them guns and armor?
So do settlers get gun upgrades on their own or do you need to give them guns and armor?
I haven't noticed them upgrading by themselves, but if you transfer them some items, you can tell them to equip specific things in their inventory.
So suddenly after 23 hours of playtime I have stumbled upon a problem, after about 20 minutes of playing the game crashes along with windows giving me an error "A display driver has stopped responding and has successfully recovered".
I am using AMD R9 380, I tried updating to the latest beta drivers but i'm still getting this problem.
so did anyone else just pick up that [sp]fatman[/sp] in fort hagen and absolutely obliterate [sp]kellog[/sp] before he even got a chance to talk?
Fucking, I just saw [sp]the ufo and now I can't figure out where the fuck it crashed, I was near the Saugus Ironworks when I saw it...[/sp]
[editline].[/editline]
Nevermind found it, god thats a long fucking way away from where I saw it.
THe first five hours were like that for me. Now I have 2300 .45 and fusion cells. I'm at no risk of running out of ammo. I don't even have ammo perks. I went from struggling to drowning in ammo, all without buying any.
What difficulty? Legendary enemies are the reason I starting blowing through ALL my ammo. I'm like 20 hours in the game and ammo fills up a shitload then I end up using it one a couple insane fights and I'll have to go re-stock. then again I haven't even been to diamond city.
I'm gonna go get the X-01 suit after work
[sp] Ah man, the quest to give Virgil his anti-mutant serum always fails the minute I enter his cave, any suggestions? [/sp]
the x-01 suit is amazing.
especially when you get it after ~level 35 and you get a full suit mk. iii.
[sp]i'm talking about the suit locked in a blue container at the training grounds. it scales with whatever your level is, so if you find it at a certain level you might only get mk. i or mk. ii.[/sp]

Fuck I wish I would have found that. The fight with him pissed me off so much because he could kill me in two shots with his pistol but I had to spam all my grenades and all the ammo from my Institute rifle to get him.

Clothes and armour are differen't things. Clothes don't give you any bonuses to damage reduction etc so you won't see those on their stats. Armour pieces go on top of clothes only. Full armour sets have their own damage/energy/rad reduction stats and you should be able to tell easily if it's an armour set or an armour piece (pieces actually say right leg, left arm etc)
This game is weird.

Don't like the Diamond City DJ? Think he's a total pussy? I did, too. That's why I had a little talk with Vadim, at the Dugout bar in Diamond City. Together, we hatched a plan to help him gain some confidence...
I wish I didn't dislike the layered armor system in this, but it's really tedious and annoying. It makes all armor look super boring, and the bonuses it gives removes all reason to use any other armor that doesn't allow you to wear layered armor over it, because it's always going to be worse.
And good luck finding the same type of armor pieces for your settlers. It's tedious and mismatched. I wish they just went back to having more unique pieces instead.
So far I haven't seen pictures of people setting up shop in The Castle, it seems like a great place.
It seems like it, but due to the fact you can't really clip fences through terrain, the holes are hard to patch up, and unless you want to use the size "mod" then there's also a very limited amount of stuff you can put in it.
I wish junk that you stored at one workshop carried over to all other workshops in the game. Right now, I just keep it all in Sanctuary, and if I want to build somewhere else, I have to make multiple trips just to bring all my materials over. It's extremely tedious.
what the FUCK
I'm doing one of the starter (I think) quests, raider troubles at greentop nursery, and every direction I go in I seem to get thoroughly fucked, whether it's[sp]radscorpions, super mutants and their dogs, assaultbots or even a laser turret which killed me in 0.5 seconds[/sp]
I'm level 14, 170 health and playing on[sp]survival mode[/sp]and now I'm starting to get frustrated
Should I just play on Hard until someone mods in a better higher difficulty? (same damage but less spongy enemies)
edit: how much less often do legendary enemies appear on hard? right now I'm running into about one in every map location

Isn't that the point of making a supply line?

as soon as I can I'm definitely going to be doing this myself
just turrets everywhere
so, my plan to kick everyone's shit in the commonwealth using a baseball bat got foiled by the synths
holy shit, those fuckers are mental at melee, please stop punching me in the stomach

I'm just gonna wait until I get Strong Back level 4 so I can fast travel and sprint while over encumbered.
Until then, Sanctuary is the only settlement I care about.

I think you can connect them if you set up a trade route, though I'm not sure.
[editline]edit[/editline]
Wait, that's just for other settlements.
Supply lines do jack shit, either it's bugged or there's something the game isn't telling us.
