Maybe my recollection of the fallout universe is a bit hazy, but what the fuck is up with the [sp]radiation wizards in the Children of Atom[/sp]
Has anyone been to arclight systems? If so, how do I get to the rest of the building? All the doors that lead there are broken, and the elevator in the bunker behind the building says it needs power but I couldn't find a generator or anything. Is there another hidden entrance or is this place for a quest and I'm supposed to come back later?

Also here's a weird thing that happened to me awhile back.

Get the Scrapper perk and start scrapping weapons. Never run out of Screws again.

i was lucky to find a merchant with the spray and pray that is the tommy gun with all the best mods, and that exact passive with explosive rounds.

but mah gun nut perk
i just looked it up and desk fans seem to have screws, i've missed sooo many of them
Am I honestly the only one who doesn't mind the voiced protag, dare I say even like it
I've never had some roleplay identity crisis because my character talks, in fact it kind of immerses me more because it was sort of uncanny not hearing yourself talk in a conversation
I mean it's not much different from Mass Effect in that regard, and I always just envisioned myself as my own version of Shepard. He was Shepard but Shepard was also me.
And while the dialogue wheel is annoying I've found the context of the options is usually not far off from what you actually say, I haven't run into any particularly bad situations with that yet. I really don't like the "sarcastic" option though, there's absolutely no contezt for it half the time
"Tell me a joke"
Im addicted to this thread
I keep having the urge to fuck with the Brotherhood of Steel and don't mind spoilers, so I have a question. (possible spoiler)
[sp]Can you join the institute?[/sp]
Can you make companions wear armor and shit? I wanna have Cait wearing some actual armor and shit but she won't put it on.
[editline]a[/editline]
Oh shit nevermind, you actually get to choose what they wear by your own selection in this. That's a step up from all the other games.

Nah I enjoy the voiced protags, infact some of their lines are pretty funny (silver shroud quest is a goldmine)
but it's cool people not liking it, preferences and all. understandable criticism would be the dialogue wheel not being akin to something like say, Deus Ex: Human Revolution. but that doesn't really itch me as much as other people though.
Yeah I sorta like the voiced protag. I really hope there's a replacement for the dialogue wheel eventually though, simply because it's incredibly unwieldy to use with a mouse.

Press T on the item when the armor is in their inventory.

Someone said something about me being poor and dumb.
"Bitch."
I don't mind the voiced protagonist at all, I'm just really not big on the whole "find your baby" storyline. Feels like that forces too much of a backstory on you for this kinda game, but that's just me.
assuming that it's not just a bog standard bethesda crash, if your windows 10 installation is an upgrade installation rather than a clean one then that could be a factor. it did a lot of that shit in a bunch of games for me before I did a clean reinstallation.
It is a clean install, I've looked around on the forums and quite a few people crash in the same area, during the quests Shadow of steal or Hunter/hunted, the area is east of the CIT Ruins. As far as I can tell it's either wait till Bethesda does something or you're fucked, restart. I'd be nice if a Bethesda employee would at least acknowledge the bug on the forums.

I find it's easier to just use arrow keys for the dialogue wheel

Little bit of a spoiler there
Little bit of a spoiler there
Eh, it happens within 10 minutes after you gain character control if you're not dicking around hitting use on everything.
Anyway, I just realized that the pip boy light color is dependant on pip boy UI color in this. Good thing I had it all set to white because now I've got a functional flashlight that's not green

dude, i know who you mean and for some reason she just disappeared FOREVER
in fact every one of those hoity toity people that have nothing to say to you are kind of annoying since in the time that i've played, i only did enough to get two of them to ever do anything. through the questlines i've killed most of them off and it just feels like i'm doing it wrong since in any other fallout, ritzy people like that can usually be persuaded via quests or whatever. but those people just want nothing to do with you
it's kind of weird since the upper stands is all empty houses since i killed everyone off except for a small handful. and she's one of them as far as i know. i don't even remember what her name is but i'm sure she's just hiding in her high-class shack (lol) because she knows i've been killing off her family and friends
protag is way too much of a good person by default and such a desperate father
most things questioning about his kid are "WHERES MY SON?!?!?!?!?!?!?", really barmy voice acting or direction
Plus there's the whole "HE'S ONLY AROUND A YEAR OLD" thing and it's like "dude you have no fucking clue how long you've been out I wasn't trying to say that"

the chick is no better honestly. i'm all for voice acting, but both of the actors are really unbelievable. i think the male voice actor is leagues better than the female protag though

I hope she becomes the new fucking Nazeem and we get hundreds of ways to kill her ass.

haha i had that happen too. my dude was like "my son is about a year old" and the guy was like "well I saw X walking around with a ten year old..." and my guy just blurts out "THAT'S MY SON"
like dude way to meta snipe

the only real limitation is that you can't say "I don't care about my son" because then that defeats the purpose of the main quest
you can still be an outright evil asshole, listen to his sarcastic or evil choices
Little bit of a spoiler there
If you don't plan on playing it yet, why are you reading the thread for spoilers?

i love doing all of the negative responses to everything but people are just like "wow you're rude" and still go on their merry way trying to befriend me
in classic fallout it doesn't MATTER who you're talking to. you cross/talk shit to anybody and they'll blow your face off in cold blood.
JUNKTOWN. NEVER FORGET
Can anyone tell me where to find a Power Fist? I need to start professionally punching dudes ASAP :flex:
