Everyone only keeps whining and isn't contributing or taking in the fact Capcom has humans working for them, oh my god what a revelation they shouldn't be allowed weekends
Also the amount of people with good rigs that can play the game but whine just cause of the graphical settings are spoiled brats
You're right. Who cares if the game is playable, you're making the people who made it sad!
I'll be sure to tell the chef that at least he tried when/if I ever buy an expensive fucking $45 meal and my expensive fucking steak or whatever is crispy and burnt to shit.
Exactly
Some people can't even play the damn game and you're complaining about not being able to run it high properly
I swear some people are just terrible
I don't get it are you dumb or just extremely bad at backpedalling
[editline]a[/editline]
or both
Be happy for the people who can play it fine, be sympathetic to the people who can't run it. We've all been one or the other over the years.
we're all guilty when we buy console ports without hearing first reactions
unfortunately that's just something us pc users have to get used to: we're on the back of everybody's minds. if you're gullible enough to buy a game because you're under the impression you're paying sixty dollars or whatever for something that works then that's on you because everyone knows that AAA titles and PC just don't work. they don't. there's not enough outcry for PC consumers for publishers to ever feel like they have to invest more money in to fixing game-breaking flaws because they know they can get away with giving you a halfassed port
some games just don't deserved to be ported to computer because chances are it will never be done correctly
I mean granted there's always that one rare game that does work pretty well, like far cry or batman or whatever, but nine times out of ten you're buying a piece of shit that was tossed over and given keyboard and mouse controls and slapped on to the steam marketplace without any kind of quality concern. Why fix a game when you have thousands of people preordering it on a platform where there's a no return policy? it's a win-win for publishers
Just finished my first playthrough, reached level 50 fairly quick and got Ending S with 2 days to spare. Probably the easiest Dead Rising game so far, but definitely had more fun with it than DR2 due to it being much closer to DR1's fast arcade-like feel and polished up combo weapons + vehicles. I found the [sp]Overtime chapter pretty easy, just carried an LMG, a Splitshot, Jazz Hands and Z.A.R. and mowed down the drones fairly quick[/sp]. My only complaint aside from the shoddy PC port is that absolutely every psychopath was super easy, even if I tried to handicap myself by not using certain weapons or stuff. 1 & 2 had some fairly challenging psychopaths even when you maxed out to level 50. [sp]The Diego fight was really fun though[/sp].
Overall still glad this got a PC port even if it's unoptimized to hell, which hopefully would get fixed with patches eventually. Also to anyone who wants consistent framerates and don't mind playing at 30fps, I recommend unlocking the in-game frame lock but putting a 30fps limit on your own. The in-game lock seems to have frame pacing issues and seems to be more prone to constant stutters and sudden frame drops. What I did is use the unlock frame rate fix, then locked the game to 30fps myself through the NVIDIA control panel using adaptive half refresh rate v-sync. Managed to play the game on max settings at 1080p with SMAA with a consistent 30fps and only dropped to around 25fps on during cutscenes. Also aside from the in-game render resolution quality, the settings that saps the most performance is shadows and texture quality, with high textures taking a whole lot of VRAM especially. To anyone having trouble with getting a consistent framerate, put shadows to medium and if you're getting stutters try the medium textures.
though even if the port is fixed, the xbone version will still be better
why?

This reminds me, the PC version doesn't have the Chuck and Frank costumes too. :(

[editline]10th September 2014[/editline]
also the progress blocking barracades in the city, while annoying, are a good gameplay design element to force the player to not heavily rely on vehicles
especially since you can get invulnerable vehicles at level 50 and bulldoze your way through the city regardless of zombie density
Surprised that isn't Monster Energy, but Mountain Dew.
and the apparently exclusive skill move that comes with the frank costume, also it sucks that we miss out on the paddle saw as well
whoa what the frank costume had an exclusive moveset? EXCUSE ME
WHY ISNT THIS IN THE GAME
Actually the Frank and Chuck costumes are in the files, you just can't access them. Currently there's a mod (check Steam guides) that replaces some other outfit with them but I doubt it comes with the moveset. Give it time, I bet they forgot a lot of stuff for modders to cram back in.
I just hope they'll work on the issues people currently have and optimization before they're gonna port over DLCs
There's already a fifth unknown DLC in the database so

Don't count on it. DLC earns them money, patches do not, thus, DLC is first priority. Possibly the only priority.

This game presumably works on the same level of DLC distribution as DR2/OTR. The game files always have to have the DLC included so that you can play co-op with people who are using items from it, meaning every user has to download it even if they don't own it; so they could push out the DLC content packs in combination with actual updates to the game.
But I doubt they would do that.
how do you reach the blueprints in these locations

I actually have a little faith in them honestly
That guy from capcom that posted on the Steam Forums actually did try to aid people, so they might do their job and fix the game
Also, they do earn money with patches indirectly, if they fix the game people will tell everyone it's fixed and more people will actually shelf out money for it
Currently a lot of people don't buy this cause of all the complaints

first one, on the roof i think
second, the metal scaffolding above the transformers. climb up there via a power box
Where do you get the hazmat suit?
Also, while I fully understand they won't add this immediately, I hope somewhere down the line they add the option where you can see which players you had played with. This will make it easier to avoid those who just constantly boot you when you join or to add those that actually allowed you to stay for long.
The Frank and Chuck costumes are still buried in the files, somebody made a mod bringing them back to the game. It overwrites the default costume though.
It doesn't come with the movesets.

It's a shame you guys are having all these issues with the game, i'm still having very minor framerate issues but the game runs without crashes for me.
Pretty good game overall, as the game progresses the zombies seem like more of a threat than in previous games.

the hazmat suit is in this building iirc

Is anybody up for playing the game in coop? I currently don't have anybody to play with.
I don't have crashes, I just have the low framerates, but that I can deal with.
I need to stop playing this game.. I've gotten every collectible, missing 1 blueprint which I don't even know how to obtain and missing like 2 more parts of clothing. This hide and seek with the items which I usually really hate fucking doing thanks to assassins creed has gotten me tied up with the game.

Thank you!
Also, as some of you might know, this outfit can be gotten during chapter 5, to the right once you've talked to Red, the truck is located there. My fav outfit, loved the swat outfit in dr2, but this beats it.

It's finished (small plot spoilers)! (watch in 720p pls)

Not DR3 but DR2 and DR2 Off the Record will have their GFWL removed soon, as Cpacom has announced. May be late.

Recorded some gameplay with AMD GVR and made a little video, what do you think?
i would be so happy if they just removed the mouse input lag/acceleration
it's literally unplayable for me until they fix this

Oh hey, I admin on the modding site for the DR series.
We're currently working on tools with Gibbed to open up the game's files and create more in-depth mods. All we can do right now is model swaps since the game runs on a heavily-modified DR2 engine - so the file structure is more or less totally different.
so far i'm diggin' the game but i think a lot of the jokes kinda fall short
like, my biggest issue was with that police gun lady who you fight in the police station. unlike the other psychos, the justification behind her weird quirk is.... really terrible?
i know she's supposed to make the player feel uncomfortable, but it feels like they let some random intern write and direct all the scenes with her. i'd argue that lust guy, despite being WAY more sexual, is more tasteful because of where/how he appears. he's in his own little sex dungeon doing his own thing with his dick flamethrower, while police gun lady is the antagonist's right-hand woman and is a commanding officer of whatever on TV and is supposed to be taken more seriously
Well that was unexpected

The entire main plot and pretty much all the characters are utterly horrible and make no sense, really.
