The plot felt really rushed toward the end. Like they were just slapping things together. Same with the tone of the overall game as well. You got the music trying to aim for an 80's synth Romero style, then you have the visuals and overall plot aiming for a more modern-gritty zombie flick, and then you have the psychopath bosses trying to appease the classic fans.
I loved Nick as the protagonist though. He's so fucking adorable. Husbando tier.

Cute as shit
So can I use the latest Graphics Drivers with NVidia now or do I have to wait still?
The Split Shot is insanely strong once you get piercing bullets. Better at Clearing crowds than the Ultimate Shout.
Did anyone else find Dead Rising 3 extremely easy? I don't think i've died a single time in my 20+ hours of play.
How long is normal mode for this game? i was told that it didn't have a time limit?

anyone who is even remotely good at video games found Dead Rising 3 to be extremely easy
because it is
If you don't use any combo weapons whatsoever it gets a lot harder, but even then it's not Dead Rising hard, because the game has health items lying around pretty much everywhere.

It does have a time limit, but it's very long.
Don't know exactly how long, but i'd put an educated guess at about 20 hours, if not more.
I must be blind but where in DR2: Off the Cuff are the options?
I must be blind but where in DR2: Off the Cuff are the options?
You can't change it from the start menu, but once you get in the game you pause it and go to options->video->pc settings, I think.
I hope this gets ported to ps4 as well because after playing this on PC I found that its pretty much unplayable and slow on my computer. I didn't think my PC was that old but it is what it is.

I updated my drivers a day or so ago and that actually made my game improve. I was playing in 700p with all medium settings and it ran like shit, then updated, now I can run 900p all high and only get stuttering when looking at large crowds.
Maxed out finally, did all the Survival Training with Gold, did all the ZDC speakers, missing 2 frank statues that are behind locked doors and 6 combos that are also behind locked doors. Game gets REALLY easy when you max out cause you can clear crowds like they're wet toilet paper even at night. Crazy fun though still.
I was initially annoyed I couldn't mix and match DLC outfits all the way like normal clothing, as I liked bits of the Punk outfit and disliked other parts.
But now as I play with it on, it's started to grow on me.

also fuck me that race mission is long and poorly done (due to inability to see next checkpoint you have to sit there dodging zombies until it comes up)
Does choosing a different mode / setting when you start a new game change anything? i kinda dont like how i have a insane amount of time now.. I done all the sidem issions i can, im not getting no more and im guessing the only way to get more is to progress in the story / do a story mission?

Yes, you need to progress a chapter, then you'll get new side missions, usually really quickly.
And no, if you change to nightmare mode it doesn't affect your story mode/normal mode. Neither will going online for either modes nor untold stories. Only thing that will be saved is the amount of PP you got, levels/skills, zombie kills, blueprints, any kind of weapon you picked up (will forever appear in the weapons locker)/clothing you took on (Same idea as the weapon locker) and things you can discover like tragic ends. Same goes for collecting/destroying stuff in the DLC's.

DLC outfits are actually made up of individual pieces according to the game's files, but Capcom Vancouver lazily decided to just make it one outfit. Once we get the tools to crack open the files more, we can actually mod stuff like this so it is multiple pieces.

Yeah, I figured. His backpack and hair replacements load at different times so I knew there was no way it was one piece.
Like for real, I want a damn shirt, but I like the bandana too much.
So did anyone find out if it's possible to mod zombie damage and health? Like I said, my only real complaint so far is the zombies aren't deadly enough for my taste. Better than DR2, but still not the life-threatening challenge I want. IIRC there were scripting mods for DR2 that could change zombie damage or reduce player health. Anything like that this time around?

That's actually possible if you just want to just swap over some files in the game directory. You can model swap specific pieces of clothing just by switching their file names around.
I am unfortunately not at my desktop right now but I can look into that for you soon.

Yes, it appears possible as DR2's coding was all done through text files, and it appears to be the same, just in a modified format. There was a mod for DR2 that made zombies kill-able only using head trauma. DR3 uses .bin files which we can't seem to unecrypt/decompress yet.

[sp]I still don't know why he would tell Gary to fucking kidnap his own daughter. And his instructions must have been vague enough to cause Gary to fucking tie her up in the middle of like 20 zombies who could rip her apart if they manage to get on stage. Why not tell him that he's looking for his daughter? I would have prefered a psycho boss fight or something to save the damsel in distress inside of that club.[/sp]

The whole thing makes absolutely no sense.

Bin tools released. Get ready to mod. Anyone with DR2 modding experience, I could use some help modifying damage values and shit.
Mod I'd really wanna see is an increase in damage for non-combo weapons. Sometimes it's fun just to kill a horde with a fire axe or lead pipe without the need for it shooting fire and electricity everywhere.

zombies get more difficult as the game progresses
Figured out how to remove most of the HUD elements, but the .bin tools are confusing as hell. The values for zombie damage and health are listed somewhere, but no clue how to modify them. Damn it Capcom, people have been asking for difficulty options for a while now. It'd be so simple if we could just select the level of challenge we want.

To be honest, once you max out the melee attribute, all the regular weapons even down to the relatively harmless ones like handbags and toys, are as strong as combo weapons and can kill in one hit. Additionally, any weapon can now easily decapitate and blast any zombie ragdoll far away lol.
so far i'm diggin' the game but i think a lot of the jokes kinda fall short
like, my biggest issue was with that police gun lady who you fight in the police station. unlike the other psychos, the justification behind her weird quirk is.... really terrible?
i know she's supposed to make the player feel uncomfortable, but it feels like they let some random intern write and direct all the scenes with her. i'd argue that lust guy, despite being WAY more sexual, is more tasteful because of where/how he appears. he's in his own little sex dungeon doing his own thing with his dick flamethrower, while police gun lady is the antagonist's right-hand woman and is a commanding officer of whatever on TV and is supposed to be taken more seriously
The gameplay is great but the writing is all over the place. They go with grey n' gritty motifs and make an overall 'serious' tone but then do things like make the General's 2nd in command a sex-pun spewing dominatrix in a stripper outfit.
I get that wackiness is a big draw, but it always felt more natural for Dead Rising to come from the gameplay rather than the characters.
All that said, I sort of wish there were more dramatic scenes in the game like [sp] finding Brad in the tunnels in DR1[/sp].

Honestly, I really like the difficulty (and its curve) of Dead Rising 3.
It's casual enough to where I haven't died yet, but difficult enough to give me some stress when I have to cross a street at night on day 4 chapter 6.
I'm still holding off until I can find a mod to beef up the zombies and possibly disable Nightmare Mode's time limit. Yeah, the zombies are way more difficult than any DR game previously, but I still don't feel threatened unless I jump in to a horde of hundreds or if I'm fighting at night. Otherwise, it's not thrilling for me.
I don't think disabling the time limit outright is going to be possible because of the way the game handles spawning in new enemies and changing the world based on how much time you have left. Freezing it at a certain amount of time remaining is probably possible, which would be a good compromise, but removing it is probably too big of a feat to mod out.
