Updated to the most recent NVidia drivers and now the game has gone back to crashing, terrific.
I'm gone for two days and I miss the release of the mod tools :v: Ah well. I'll crack open a lot of the files tomorrow and see what I can dig up.
The gameplay is great but the writing is all over the place. They go with grey n' gritty motifs and make an overall 'serious' tone but then do things like make the General's 2nd in command a sex-pun spewing dominatrix in a stripper outfit. I get that wackiness is a big draw, but it always felt more natural for Dead Rising to come from the gameplay rather than the characters. All that said, I sort of wish there were more dramatic scenes in the game like [sp] finding Brad in the tunnels in DR1[/sp].
How about the song that played when you had to carry Isabela to the safehouse during that one mission.
carrying people in dr1 was like being invulnerable to zombies. just ice plow your way through them so easily. [editline]15th September 2014[/editline] i just want running chainsaw swings i just loaded dr1 back up and made some quick step and grabbed a chainsaw and fuck this is the arcadey gameplay missing from the new ones
You can actually get the mini chainsaws and its blueprint if you do the 'Bite the Bull' side quest for Ravi. [t]http://i.ytimg.com/vi/eSb01SiKHP0/maxresdefault.jpg[/t]

[t]http://i.ytimg.com/vi/eSb01SiKHP0/maxresdefault.jpg[/t]
pfft default clothing what is whoever took that picture doing [editline]a[/editline] So I did the story mission with the three [sp]loaders[/sp] after [sp]Diego[/sp] dies and that was the worst thing I've had to deal with in this game so far. The [sp]fire[/sp] everywhere, losing [sp]all of my weapons at the start[/sp], having to deal with the [sp]metro station[/sp] afterwards, eugh. I missed my 3 Z.A.R.s, one assault rifle in case of ZDC speakers, one food item, fill-the-rest-with-blunt-melee combo so much, that must've been the best safehouse visit ever.
Here's a tidbit of info: Los Perdidos has a codename in the files. Apparently it used to be "San Paulino" before it was retitled.
it's annoying when people say dead rising 3 is easy and always complains about it being easy, and then proceeds to build super combos that just plows right through zombies. i saw this guy complaining that dr3 was super easy and wasn't a challenge and the only weapons he ever used were the Z.A.R. and the electric staff, and then when he fights [sp]marian[/sp] without any combos and only vanilla weapons, he's stumbling over and is constantly at 2-3 blocks of health.
Want the game to be more difficult, play it on Nightmare mode and don't use any Combo Weapons. If it's too easy then, go bare handed. If it's too easy then, uninstall the game.

[sp] After defeating the loaders the boxes blocking the way should break. They didn't. It was maddening to have to go through that frustrating fight again and again because of the glitch.[/sp]

http://deadrising2mods.proboards.com/thread/1888/harder-george-romero-zombies A guy who helped make the harder zombie mods for the old DRs is halfway done making a new and improved one for DR3. Rejoice.

[t]http://i.ytimg.com/vi/eSb01SiKHP0/maxresdefault.jpg[/t]
yeah but you can't run-n-chop with em [editline]16th September 2014[/editline] and the quick step in dr3 doesn't make you go faster heres a video i just made as to why those two things are very important
it's in dr3 but it doesn't feel as punchy or satisfying (same with all skills compared to dr1) i mean i like the gameplay in 3. i just wish it had all the skills from 1 and they felt the same too
the new quickstep is really bad it's called quickstep, and it doesn't even make you faster what
the new quickstep is really bad it's called quickstep, and it doesn't even make you faster what
Eh, we'll mod it in due time. Also yet again, DR3 is coded via text files, just like DR2. Ohhh the joys of a good-yet-terrible engine :v:
I've completed the game but haven't found a single food combo blueprint, are you supposed to discover them on your own?
any word on modding the timer? it's not so much that the timer is actually constrictive, but it's a psychological thing whenever i'm being timed it puts me in a rush and i can't properly enjoy the game
I've completed the game but haven't found a single food combo blueprint, are you supposed to discover them on your own?
On the attributes screen, there is a food icon next to the combo cards that lets you create the mixers if you spend a point on it. I personally use Repulse all the time by combining two items with the wheat icon, like rations or cereal. The fun with the mixers is the experimentation you can do with all the different types of food and it's a nice surprise when you figure out a combo. I always keep a spare with me just in case.
Friend bought me DR3 for my birthday. Nice to see the psycho boss fights are still complete shit. It's like "hey, had fun killing zombies ? How about we put you in a bossfight against a horde of bikers with bulletproof skin that just drive around, get stuck in the decor constantly, and can't get hit with melee weapons due to the shoddiest hitboxes this side of existence ? Yeah that'd be funnier for sure".

Oh yeah my bad so the way to go is to just lame out the boss fights in a tedious, uninteresting way until it's over. Yeah I'm just going to boot up cheat engine and play the game without having to worry about shit boss fights.
that's why you pick one of the 20 or so vehicles around the edges and suicide bomb right into them [editline]16th September 2014[/editline] you can even dive out right before the collision like an action hero or something
I just picked up the molotovs and threw them at the bikers, they die almost instantly.
how are the dlc episodes?
They're pretty short if you skip the collectibles imo. I do like Episodes 1 & 4 since they revolve around the military and the Spec Ops point of view throughout the games story, though Episode 4 does distance itself quite from the military until the end. [sp]I was surprised that Nick appeared at the start but it was a shame that Gary and Rhonda don't get any new lines related to what happened after Nick and the others left Perdidos.[/sp] The character you play as in Episode 4 kinda looks like Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Easiest fight in the game, I just shot them with all those shotguns lying around. They die in like 2-4 hits.
i happened to bring 2 miniguns and it was over in like 3-4 minutes
any word on modding the timer? it's not so much that the timer is actually constrictive, but it's a psychological thing whenever i'm being timed it puts me in a rush and i can't properly enjoy the game
DR3 works like DR2 did. The entire game mission structure is coded into one large text file and those missions run dependently on the timer. You could not remove the timer without the game crashing or breaking every single mission.
Aww yeah. Just unlocked the Mega Man X Buster. Nightmare Mode wasn't as hard as I thought it would be to be honest, still had a day left and I managed to complete quite a couple of missions before I headed to the plane.
