is it just me, or does the paid version look better than the mod one? it's a long time since I played the original release, but this feels so much better visually
Thats kinda the whole point
It is on a way newer version of the Source 1 engine. They've replaced a lot of models with newer versions. I think they touched up some textures.
[editline]5th May 2015[/editline]
The HECU sound a lot better from BM and Half-Life 1. A lot less comical.
The actor tried to humanize them a bit more.
Just got to the HEV suit
That "setup" intro for it was FUCKING awesome. Amazing job, guys
Still working on the base game along with Xen, they're going to be added more scripted sequences between NPCs. More HECU stuff particularly.

"This isn't even my final form!"
We don't support the "custom" folder. It must be done through the workshop, or you can just put it in the folder its intended to go in. Our content is in VPKs so it won't be replacing anything. We're putting up workshop guides shortly.
Just putting files in the intended folders doesn't seem to work for me, but the /custom/ folder method works after editing gameinfo.txt.
Maybe I'm just retarded though.
Sheeeeeit, the gauss gun has a jiggleboned tube

Really? What did you edit in gameinfo.txt?
Black Mesa will be getting its own SDK if it isn't out yet. And it includes a custom version of Hammer which apparently crashes very very little.

oooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOh shit
YES!
Really? What did you edit in gameinfo.txt?
Added a "game+mod bms/custom/*" line

People were asking what version the engine is based on, I feel it's safe to say it's ultimately based on Source 2013. Seeing as it doesn't support vtf 7.5 nor pcf 2, placing it below the Alien Swarm branch.

Actually if you put the entry "game+mod bms/custom/*" at the top of the list of .vpk directories in gameinfo.txt, it'll work.

isn't it already in the bin folder of the game
I've been using it for a few hours and it creashed twice, so it's probably not the one
Got a free key from the stream
excited
I may still have it on my desktop in my free folder.
I can PM it to you later if you want (if i do)
EDIT: NVM
Does BM have a zombie player model? If it does we could totally make a really simple mod to create a halo-style infection mode for it.
The black mesa menu in the options doesn't work, just like the mod version.. why? There's also no way to disable the blood on hands which I want to because the alien blood effects is still really bad quality
go through the weapon vmts and delete everything that resembles

do I have to own the game to upload to the workshop
The deathmatch is pretty nice, but the tau cannon doesn't shoot through walls, I need to get used to it.
Also overcharging glock:

I get serious FPS drops on dm_bounce and some in the other maps. I pretty much only get fps drops in the deathmatch mode and I don't know why.. Even have a GTX 970
Kevan Brighting sounds so out of place in the game
What's the official maplist for MP?
What's the official maplist for MP?
Bounce, Subtransit, Lambdabunker, Undertow, Gasworks, Stalkyard.
More to come in free updates; both remakes and brand new layouts.
-snip-
The deathmatch is fantastic, I seriously haven't had this much fun online in years.
Damn it, why do these things always come out when I have no money

It kinda bothers me, I mean, he's a cool guy and I really like his voice, he just doesn't fit in at all, they didn't even get him to change his voice, he's literally just the Stanley Parable narrator voice
From what I've seen, some animations just don't play/are bugged. For example, the Unforeseen Consequences security guard not gesturing at all or pressing the button to talk in the main lobby.
There's some odd animation errors in deathmatch too, where playermodels will suddenly go mingebag pose for a couple seconds.
As soon as I acquire some extra cash I'll be sure to pick this up. The Crowbar Collective outdid themselves with the original, I can't wait to see what's in this version.
