Holy shit, when he got out side and pointed out the rocket in the distance I smiled.
I LOVE that type of stuff in games, when you can see something that far and think "that's where I'm going" and get closer to it.
Marvelous. And the Worker model fits perfectly.
Aside of the sniper (which I agree that needs to be changed), I like the idea of having the rocket being outside, but then, it wouldn´t conflict when later we have to lift it to the surface?
It's after you lift it

Well worth the wait.
It shows up in the editor as construction.mdl when I search for it - but the model is "invisible," nothing appears when I click on it and when I place it in the editor nothing happens either, you just can't see a model. It has skins and everything, but none of them do anything. I've checked the directories and I've placed the materials and models where they're meant to be. Like I said, it shows up in the editor when I search for it but nothing happens beyond that.
Yep, just what I thought and said: the ragdoll animation was broken. Putting the explanation right now (the following is redundant, but it's always good to leave stuff like this so any other people with this problem can fix this):
Alright, I just fixed it. As I thought, it was a problem with the animations:
Batonidle1, Batonidle2 and ragdoll appeared with warnings when compiling, making the model invisible in Hammer.
Since the baton animations already comes in one of the included models that uses this model to have their animations, I just deleted those two lines of the QC.
For the ragdoll one, I used the Phymodel instead of the ragdoll.smd file, that it looks like it decompiled better than the ragdoll (oh, the irony >_>). //Note, I could just used/made another ragdoll file, but I made it this way, so I don't need to send to anyone any file.
At the end, it should look as this:

I've worked on another small mod in my spare time:

I've always thought that the vista you see in Surface Tension was stunningly beautiful, but was slightly red in colour.
In this mod I tried to make it consistent with the rest of the landscape in Black Mesa; more brown/orange, less red.
Features:
- Brown rock on vertical surfaces
- Light brown dirt on horizontal surfaces
- Less obvious boundary between map and skybox
Download and more screenshots: http://blackmesa.gamebanana.com/textures/3754
Also, a compiled fixed construction worker model can be found here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/hfcllrj4lyfdz6f/BMS_Construction_Worker_%28fixed%29.7z
Thanks to Maestro for sharing the fix.
Edit: These screenshots are outdated. In the current version it's not as bright and yellow-ish as seen above.

The transition certainly looks much better, but it the color of the distant terrain looks a bit too yellow-ish in my opinion.
A combination of both seems like the best solution to me.

Thanks for the feedback. I made another version that looks less yellow and closer to the original. (Honestly, I also thought that it could use some improvement)
[t]http://i.imgur.com/1qPJkqI.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/GNr39Hs.jpg[/t] <-- original for referrence
The difference between the two is more subtle, but I think it's enough to make it look streamlined with other rocks in Black Mesa. It also has the better transition between the map and the vista, as requested.
So, should I make any more changes before uploading?

Some of the greens down near the river look kinda ugly. (sorry)
Maybe make them a bit more like the original

You don't have to apologise for your opinion :). It might actually help improve this mod for everyone else as well.
Do you mean they should be greener? Then I have 2 options:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/Kw9APqQ.jpg[/t]
This one I made it about the same colour as the original.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/1a0KL2c.jpg[/t]
This one has a richer green colour.
Which one would you prefer, or could it be done better?
Edit: the gamebanana link now has an updated version. Thanks for the feedback!

You should try a mix of both greens.
Hey buddies, I'm back. And just for you know. Remember Lestat_cv22 on game banana? The guy of the Hgrunts Reskins?
Yeah, it's me. But I use several nicknames.
Just want to say that soon I will appear with several reskins I'm working.

Nope, here my submissions:

OH I remember you! You made those amazing ties pack. I still use those.

I still use those HECU skins with the joint operation pack, the headgroup fix makes them look very slick.
So we are nearing a year since the release of BM and I'm wondering when we might see the Xen levels. On it's wiki page it mentions possibly second half of 2013 but I'd love some confirmation on that.
They just don't say anything after they got greenlit because of this "NDA with Valve", I don't know if it's just an excuse or what, no other mods that got accepted on greenlight happened this...
I just hope it gets released this year...

That is one of the things I wanted to ask. Something is known about this, or just the same situation?
Black Mesa team is annoying with their secrecy all the time.
Don't worry, when they get to 50% completion for Xen they'll release that half and start work on the other half a year later.
Black Mesa team is annoying with their secrecy all the time.
Well, since it took about 8 years to make the bulk of Black Mesa, expect another 4 years for Xen.
(brb freezing self)

They also deleted lots of stuff over the years and scrapped a lot.
It's not like it took them 8 years to reach the goal it has right now.
From what I understand.
They're putting the final touches to it before releasing it on steam.
Can't fucking wait.

Yeah they went through development hell and got stuck going through a shitload of iterations on things. OAR is a good example, they started with an ugly as fuck remake of the HL version, then probably a bunch of other iterations we likely never saw. The next version we saw much different, actually lit, rails instead of monorail. After that there was a version similar but with small updates, mostly the same. Then somewhere after that, they made another major choice, to cut out huge sections of the chapter because they didn't like OAR. After that, what we have in Retail is largely the same, although with a different lighting scheme (orange instead of white) and with probably 90% of the previous work put into it being cut.
God I want to see what their Xen looks like so badly.
I wonder if they also move up to the ASW engine.
