• Black Mesa Source V5 - "They're still working on Xen?"
That header is really misleading. The article only says that FREE version won't get Xen but the header creates the impression that BM won't get Xen at all.
That's what I was thinking it meant first. Was wondering why nobody was flipping out but then I read the article itself.
I wonder what they meant with improvements to rendering and lighting. A heavier use of projected textures perhaps? It's on the portal 2 engine now and they have source code access so perhaps they'll up the limit of one projected texture at a time from portal 2.
"Black Mesa mod won't get Xen levels" How is that misleading? It says mod, not game.
You will not believe how many people still call Black Mesa "mod".

Would it be feasible for someone in the community to just port over the original HL1 levels and enemies for Xen? As a mod, it could at least let people finish the story while they wait for BM Xen to be finished.

Uploaded the Gun-Nut skin to the workshop. May also make it a sticker for CS:GO like some people suggested if I can figure out how the fuck that works.

Would it be illegal to put my Vortigaunt voices mod on the Workshop because they are modified from the HL2 leak (also I don't retail yet)? I tried reading some of the TOS but the lawyer speak just confuses me. I do know that beta models are on the Gmod Workshop and have been for a long time, and that someone at Valve once said they don't mind as long as you don't touch the source code. But I'm still iffy on whether the Steam Workshop allows it since it's not the same as a third-party mod from moddb or wherever.
Oh look, TF2 items http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=441407250

If they did it would only be removing it from the workshop.
I'm pretty sure that dm_subtransit has two env_projectedtextures in it.
Im not so sure about that... http://puu.sh/hKaNQ/1de2605162.jpg http://puu.sh/hKaPy/3f9e69dfeb.jpg I looked all over the map trying to find where it might have been placed, but I wasn't so successful. The closest thing I could find would be in these two rooms, which while they look like env_projectedtexture, are certainly baked on.
Oh look, TF2 items http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=441407250
They've actually been up all week. I've just been too busy/lazy/mostly busy to put them into a proper collection.

If claims one or two were removed then they are somewhere on the map. (I wouldn't do it with the flashlight out)
They've actually been up all week. [editline]12th May 2015[/editline] Ok, looks like it works only for Demo, Soldier, Medic and Heavy.

Sorry to ask this but what happend to that old shotgun model and i believe the MP5 too, based on the original HL models? Kind liked that models and the anims Also i wonder if they added more stuff to the ARG
idunno about that green sight on the glock
If you're talking about the models from the original mod version of Black Mesa, they were simply changed and the old ones thrown out. The originals won't be returning. Now if you're talking about THESE: [t]http://puu.sh/cK3W0/8a5749c079.jpg[/t] [t]http://puu.sh/azz3T/ce81d5a757.jpg[/t] these are Juniez's, not official content, and his animators are still working on it. They might be uploaded to the Steam workshop as skins sometime in the future, last I heard. But I'm not Juniez or anyone animating his projects, so who knows.
Damn, i want the Juniez's ones. Well, i can wait
idunno about that green sight on the glock
sorry
idunno about that green sight on the glock
it shouldn't matter, Half life has no iromsights [editline]11th May 2015[/editline] as in you won't look down em
Well other then the 357. But you can disable that. Also I just read on their FB page that they also had to license the Havok physics engine. I'd honestly forgot that source didn't have its own physics engine
They've actually been up all week. I've just been too busy/lazy/mostly busy to put them into a proper collection.
I know that's not likely, but I'd really love to have them in game, I've been waiting for proper glasses in TF2 for a few years now.
To be honest I really like the green sight on the glock. But in the shotgun, I think the original orange color would get better, and also make the shotgun skin a little darker. But overall, the work of Juniez is excellent. I have never seen something so well done and in fact remember the original HL1.
I just hope he doesn't have draw animations that take too long. Maybe it'll work better with the new HECU now, but in the mod, using Ilopn's pack, with those HECU reaction times (even if you reduced them) if you were in combat and had to change weapons you were basically fucked Throwing a grenade took 4 seconds if you wanted to switch to them
Actually there's no disabling the ironsights in the retail version of BM. They removed that option too. Still just as easy to simply not use it if you don't want to.
It is still there, kind of. Option menu, Black Mesa tab. 'Enable Classic Iron-Sight' [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/541900289056496262/ECC50856B155C5F08CD5CEC89FD47F7264819046/[/t] Turns it into a Zoom like in HL1.
If they could split the difference that would be great. Now they don't sound aggressive at all. The old voices sounded cornyly evil, now they just sound like apathetic people.
The old voices from Half-Life scared me so much when I was a kid.
But will we get something like Crack-Life for Black Mesa, the Crack-Mesa?
