Maybe something even woetter
Woetter?
we may have a really awesome way to repurpose the lump for the LDR lightmaps, which we hope to reveal...soon™.
Ohh, it might be a gore system that uses them similarly to how Portal 2 uses paint, or as a mask to blend multiple textures on a surface without needing vertex values a la displacements. Also, Gluon gun bug when you suit zoom: [vid]http://s.gvid.me/s/2015/05/12/QDX424.webm[/vid]
Another leftover HL2 prop: during On A Rail, there's the food bag depicting a Civil Protection officer in a fridge in the kitchen near where you see the Vort and HECU ambush take place.

ah, deadly monitor, you're still alive yet not as giblet-inducing
So apparently BM has already sold over 30,000 copies

There is a reason why it is early access :v: I'm sure they have a list of props they need to replace. Though I'm sure they appreciate the help. Also I never noticed that bag had a CP on it before.
Also I never noticed that bag had a CP on it before.
Quick burn it, microwave your hard drive before the FBI get here
Despite the fact that it's $10 for me, I still can't bring myself to buy it. Maybe because of Xen or I'm too frugal.
Is the ugly laser surface effect from HL2 Ep1 going to be replaced? I'm talking about the laser beams in Unforeseen Consequences. It's just side-by-side black dots... Portal 2 has a perfect laser effect.
Quick burn it, microwave your hard drive before the FBI get here
That makes me wonder how often false child porn alarms are set off by NSA trigger words because chances are one of them is CP
can you just imagine that there might be a team at the NSA searching for the phrase "Cheese Pizza" all day
I don't know if this (the easter egg) is new, but this recording of the dm_undertow easter egg is new. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6K4W8UfP7Jc&feature=youtu.be
Should have used this https://soundcloud.com/johnjdick/sam-rant
I have been hard at work recently, patching together my first ever Source skin. I have never textured before in my life, or produced many mods for release to begin with, so this was a learning exercise. However -- I am very happy with my results. I want to show you all my work before I release it. I was inspired by our fellow Facepunch user Old Hermit in making this. This texture is styled in a similar manner to Old Hermit's 'Gun-Nut Brand Ammo Box', which he showed off to this thread earlier. The texture and its model is intended to go along with Old Hermit's Gun-Nut skin. What do you guys think? I will release it once I sleep -- it's very late (in fact, it's the morning!), and I have been working on this all night.
That looks really cool! Get it up on the workshop when you can! I love how colourful it is and the way it really pops out.

All these people making ammo boxes, and I want to join in.
I spend a 2 days trying to fix "shaking" hud numbers. So it ended by recreating vector shape of all numbers in fontforge. [sp]added a line to zero just because i can[/sp]
Do you plan on releasing that?
You can grab it here. With two variants of "zero". The first versions of font worked on my resolution (1366x768), but shaked by 1 px on lower resolutions. Latest version work well on my and on lower resolutions, but maybe will shake on your resolution.
How'd you get it to load? VPK and loose files don't seem to work.
Add a "game+mod bms/custom/*" line Before After This way the files in the "custom" folder will load
They posted some before and after comparisons of the first two chapters (more following) http://forums.blackmesasource.com/index.php/Thread/28045-Black-Mesa-2012-vs-Black-Mesa-2015-Image-Comparisons/?postID=608040#post608040 [t]http://cdn.makeagif.com/media/5-09-2015/A9xvxU.gif[/t] [t]http://cdn.makeagif.com/media/5-09-2015/gZqMaQ.gif[/t] [t]http://cdn.makeagif.com/media/5-09-2015/Wduw_x.gif[/t]

The texture and its model is intended to go along with Old Hermit's Gun-Nut skin. It is a remake of Half-Life 1's shotgun shell box with a minimalistic redesign. The design has retained the more utilitarian style of the original HL1 shotgun shell box. The shotgun shell on the front has been turned into a company logo. Some new text and symbols were added to more accurately resemble a real-world ammo box. It also features a new model, provided and created by Steam user Game Zombie, and as a result features prebaked ambient occlusion. Game Zombie also made the model for Old Hermit's .357 ammo, so the two match well together. I also kept mipmapping enabled, to avoid the dreaded jaggies from the fine text at a far distance. And now that I am happy with the way it is, check it out! Model view: [t]http://i.imgur.com/AMiEO5J.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/6muU5da.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/QVp1v0P.png[/t] In-Game: [t]http://i.imgur.com/cad5zCa.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/HDzSNK9.jpg[/t] What do you guys think? I will release it once I sleep -- it's very late (in fact, it's the morning!), and I have been working on this all night.
I recommend sizing down the ammo boxes just a little. From the images, the ammunition alone looks like it wouldn't even fit in the shotgun by comparison.
They're based 1:1 on the proportions of the regular shotgun box, the model from HL2 that BM uses. In fact, the model was modified heavily from the original model. I can ask about it, though.
Then maybe it's just the world model for the shotgun being disproportionately smaller than usual or something, i'm not sure.
I finally beat it. God it's great. I'd love to see some old fan-maps made in the same style, like some of the Sven Co-Op maps that used exclusively HL assets.

I made a little mod that replaces the Xen crystal in Anomalous Materials with an oversized piece of Chesire Cheese. [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/A79YZFN.jpg[/thumb] http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=442146496

Also, If you try to use the command "say" in singleplayer, it crashes.
