No,the entire terrain and mesas is a model.
how can you be so sure when you hadn't even checked it out

it's all a series of level 4 displacements in a grid

I see,I assumed cause that's the most common practice.

I can't blame you, with that baked lightning it looks pretty astonishing even in hammer preview window
hard to believe it's all old good diplacements

They probably used displacements instead of a model cause they're more cheaper to render for the engine.

If that's the black mesa hammer I'm gonna buy this shit right now.
Make that it's own map.

I know it must've been pre-baked with some third party software (I decompiled the map and checked it out), but it still puzzle me

god damn it, they said that https thing was working now
It is because you used the short form of the link. Not because of https

God damn that looks filthy, those shadows look better than the shit we actually get. (In games of course)
If that's the black mesa hammer I'm gonna buy this shit right now.
same old hammer we're used to. the shadows are baked into the texture.
I've said this, and to you already. The gibbing system is unfinished because we had to emergency rewrite it right before release. There are a bunch of features we are going to implement for it in the future.
Ah okay, sorry, I wasn't sure.
honestly non-baked on shadows would be pointless anyway, No lightsource that can be moved is big enough
honestly non-baked on shadows would be pointless anyway, No lightsource that can be moved is big enough
They need dynamic shadows for the day and night cycle they're going to implement throughout the whole game, even the underground parts.
Honestly, did you even read the Steam page?

Not mine.
Anyone here know of a way to only have one team spawn? Maybe in the vein of the old coop maps for HL2DM?

why is the AI so terrible? looks very not fun
why is the AI so terrible? looks very not fun
The AI is a work in progress, and this scene in particular has some pretty major bugs which we are working on.

I hope the sound for the Hivehand firing isn't final, it sounds shit.

If you're doing weapon balance still, I suggest someone reading/watching Bungie's Jaime Griesemer's GDC talk: http://www.gdcvault.com/play/1012211/Design-in-Detail-Changing-the
I got the Guass cannon for the first time in the retail version a few days ago, and I'm not sure if it was part of the start up sound, or some ambient noise in the background of the map, but I heard the same stock sound that Doom used for doors :v:
Please tell me I'm not the only one having the issue with the spazzing ties. (And anyone know a fix?)
And here, have a comical video to demonstrate the issue.

That looks like an issue with jigglebones. Set cl_jiggle_bone_framerate_cutoff to 0 in the console to disable them.

Worked perfectly, upped my FPS a bit as well it seems somehow Thanks!
I thought I'd bring this back up, in case anyone didn't see it -- many people are still having the problem and don't appear to have noticed Xubs' fix.
aren't the advisers the only "true" combine which came from combine world?
As far as we know, yes. However, even the advisors are mechanically augmented and we have no idea of what their true form looks like. According to Raising the Bar, they evolved into their grub-like state because they became so heavily reliant on their technology that they had no need for actual appendages or other biological weapons / tools.
Either way, seeing the humanoid Combine soldiers in Xen would massively destroy the lore and wouldn't make any sense. I'd be fine with seeing some of the Xen aliens before they were turned into synths, but in Black mesa's timespan the Combine hadn't invaded earth yet or "recruited" the human race. Indeed, the humanoid soldiers are essentially synths.

Another thing: Combine activity in Xen in general, even non-human synths, would be lore breaking for a variety of reasons.
The Nihilanth, once it finally found Xen, mostly used it's psychic abilities to keep the rifts between Xen and wherever the Combine were coming from closed so they couldn't follow, the other half being used to keep the rift between Xen and Earth open once the Resonance Cascade occurred. Once it was killed, the rifts between the Combine Overworld/wherever broke open, and they flooded into Xen easily with no opposition, re-enslaving and/or killing off most of the remaining inhabitants, and just happened to find Earth through the permanently un-sealed portal storms between Xen and Earth due to the immense activity they created which in turn kicks off the events of HL2.
It wouldn't make sense how the Combine were somehow able to access Xen suddenly when the rifts between it and the Combine Overworld/wherever were sealed shut by the Nihilanth, unless there was some covert shit going on and some of them were able to enter before the Nihilanth closed the rift.
In any case, I'd rather see salvaged tech repurposed for Xen forces than actual Combine units and stations, or at the very least, barely recognizable wreckage of a Combine Synth.
Update is out, 411,8 MB.
Fixed bad collision on some M35 (truck) variants, where players would get stuck inside them.
Does this mean it fixes this?

Yes, that should be fixed now.
Are you guys looking into the map music restarting when you load a save? Or bullsquids hitting the player through walls?
