Thank you everyone for your really kind words. Means a lot to me.
As for those of you who think I'm suddenly going to become a tremendous douchebag now that I'm on the team, well you guys are seriously wrong. I was already a tremendous douchebag BEFORE I joined the team, and, in fact, it was the main requirement for the position.
What are the chances they'll won't ignore the various glitches in the released maps?

I honestly don't know. The maps are so godamned big there's a chance they might miss a few.

High, if they aren't game-breaking. They seem to put finishing it above all else, even the vortigaunt's animation bugs aren't getting a fix.

I hope the posture gets fixed. That thread provides some seriously good arguments.

Plus, it just feels like common sense. Half-Life 2 didn't have combine walking around casually when they weren't shooting you.
Yeah I agree, in fact I think it's one of the major things that felt unpolished to me. The Vorts seemed off, but I didn't realise why until it was pointed out that they use the wrong animations.
remind me what's wrong with the vort again?
they use the wrong animations.
Specifically, they use these animations:

when they should use these animations:

huh, that's daft
is that in all of BMS or just the OAR extended, haven't really been following
All of BMS.
This game's got some bugs, but not too bad, only complaint that I have is that the music is actually bad..

wtf no the music is great
Well in some places I have noted that the music sort of like explodes, and is really loud. I suppose there are some good bits.
Anyway the game itself is pretty awesome

The music isn't bad, it's that a lot of the time it's too loud, unfitting, or poorly timed.
The only soundtrack I liked was the inbound and the questionable ethics (where you see the alien grunt trapped in that pod)
It's been a while since I played BM:S so these 2 are what I remembered the most, and that I know the other soundtracks are either way too dramatic or has too much action in it.
As great as the new soundtrack is, it didn't really invoke the feeling I wanted and I ended up replacing most of it with the original one and some early mixes from the 1997 alpha, and just left alot of the ambient stings Neilson made because they complimented Bailey's music really nicely.
I personally think the music fits quite well with the modern spin on the game with the exception of the issues as whatshisname said like music being too loud or poorly timed.

Well, there's that one part I always mention with the tentacle. You know, where the loud rock music plays as you slowly sneak by it to kill it. That was by far the most bizarre music moment in the game. Though I remember hearing that that part will be fixed at some point..
my favorite

don't think it was in the mod though

My favorite will always be Questionable Ethics 1.
QE1, AM, WGH, and ST1/2/3 are my favorites
I personally think AM, WGH and ST3 are the most Half-Life-y though, AM and ST3 almost sounds like it could have been something bailey had done.
Also Inbound 1/2/3 are more ambient, but they have that "HL" sound almost as well.
I really hope the steam/DM release gets a new official trailer for BM. The old 2009 trailer was so well done I really want to see another like it.
During my first playthrough of black Mesa, the first four chapters rocked my brain, but for some reason, WGH couldn't keep up the momentum. Am I alone on this? I'm sure it was partly the fault of the less-than-compelling HECU voice acting, but not entirely.
The Hecu need to have a bit more yell in their voice, right now they kinda sound like they're just talking urgently.

I think they were assuming players would run by the tentacles rather then sneaking (which wasnt the case) and create a frantic experience to compliment the music.
I've made a small (and shitty ;_;) bunch of localization fixes to the English Black Mesa Source UI. I've changed stuff like:
-Took out weapon slot #6
-Removed HL2's walk function because it doesn't work
-Added a custom autosave icon
-Removed G to get out Gravity Gun
-Removed C to recall squad
-Changed the easy difficulty description from "Enemies are easy to defeat, and the computer helps you aim." to "Enemies are easy to defeat; your weapons are more effective." due to the game already having a toggleable auto-aim option.
[Removed]
[UPDATE]:
-The viewroll slider actually does something. (Values 0 - 3.5)
[Removed]
[UPDATE]:
-Removed "Fast Weapon Switch" from the advanced keyboard options because it doesn't function, and also because there is already a fast switch option in the 'Black Mesa' tab.

Yeah, and that's why it failed so badly. The music should compliment what the player is doing, not the other way around.
