Eat your heart out, OSHA.

Not that one, the big one down the corridor with the pipe that has to be moved so you can pass into another pipe.
I knew which one you were talking about but that one doesn't have a nice overview video of it
It was awesome though, before seeing BM's stuff I really thought good looking waterfalls couldn't be done too well in source.
Is there some kind of console command or script that removes the weapon lowering?
I don't understand why Gordon's third person model is really just an ugly doll that looks like him
Because you never actually see yourself-- It's a waste of precious, precious time.

You mean the Half Life 1 Gordon model with a slapped on texture?
What else would it be?
I seem to be having some problems with ST Uncut v2.0 and the OaR uncut public beta
Whenever I'm playing them they have a tendency to crash, ST Uncut 2.0 moreso while the previous version seemed pretty stable. But with this version if I take a steam screenshot while playing it CTDs, and just after a few minutes of gameplay I get a CTD as well.
Has anyone else had problems like this with them?
I also sincerely hope they fix this part of We've Got Hostiles, where you get shot by somebody you can't see, because he's shooting you through this bit of ceiling.

It's not even supposed to happen that way. They're supposed to rappel down and then hang on the ropes and shoot at you. This happens when the helicopter doesn't line itself up properly with the shaft and drops them off ontop of it.
Now that I'm finally playing through the mod again, I really feel like talking about all of my complaints again. The problem is, pretty much everything I have to say has been said before many, many times over, often by me.
I guess I'll just have to wait until we see what they fix.
Why would you want to talk about your complaints? Why not talk about the things you like about it? Optimism over pessimism?
Because the things that I like about it are even more obvious than the things that I don't like about it. By now, we all know about how cool Questionable Ethics lobby fight is, or how pretty that Surface Tensions skybox is. The bad stuff sticks out because it's surrounded by mostly good stuff, so it's what I mostly have on my mind.
I hate that lobby fight. A butt-ton of soldiers drop into the room, and they all have 100% accuracy.
grenades and the gauss cannon murderize them all ridiculously easily
Does anyone else, like, REALLY love the soundtrack? Everything about it was so god-damn spot on.
My personal favorite.

*shiver*
The Forget About Freeman track is an amazing final battle with the HECU track, I just wish it was implemented a little better.

Yeah it was a bit of a pain, but it still felt good, mainly because of the music, and the fact that finishing it made you feel like a total badass. They just need to nerf those soldiers.

Ehhhhhh not really. Some of it was great, and some of it just made no sense at all, like the Blast Pit music that I keep mentioning, and how it encourages you to do play an area in an unnecessarily risky way.
Not to mention it's way too fucking loud. Yes, I know there's a slider for the music volume, but no amount of volume sliders can fix bad audio mixing. It was a lot more subdued in other Half-Life games, but this time it feels kind of intrusive and in your face. The atmospheric tracks would be a lot more effective if they weren't blasting in the foreground. It sometimes makes me wonder why there's loud action music playing when there's nothing super exciting happening, like on the Surface Tension cliffside.
Also, the credits music is kind of disappointing. It starts off sounding really cool and atmospheric, but then it quickly turns into really generic rock.

Now that No More Room In Hell has been released on all platforms, I hope this mod will.
Even though the song on surface tension cliffside was pretty loud, I still loved listening to it. I thought the wind sound in the song and the pacing worked well with sniping the HECU, and sound wise it's one of my favorites to listen to, right up there with the best of the other songs in the game.
However, I fucking hate the song that plays in Blast Pit before you kill the tentacle, it completely ruins the pacing and doesn't fit at all - and I also don't like any of the songs with the prominent piano in them, they don't sound like HL at all to me, like Unforseen Consequences which I immediately replaced for subsequent playthroughs.
Though I also find it weird because while those are so out of place and unfitting, some, like WGH, ST3, all of the inbound tracks and Anomalous Materials especially - sound like they could have been unused tracks from Half-Life.
It seems kind of like the composer was bouncing around between being faithful and doing something completely different, and it's kind of inconsistent.
Although I will say I am genuinely impressed with the OST barring the bad ones. Ever since I first heard the theme way back on the website, the soundtrack was something I was thinking "Eh, when this comes out I'm replacing it completely" and I used to always ask on the forums if we would be able to do so. Just the fact that I've kept more than half of the entire soundtrack in the game unchanged is really surprising to me, and also the fact that I actually like a good portion of them, enough to listen to them from time to time.

It's really weird how it starts the very instant the map finishes loading. You hear this crazy action music start up just as you finish climbing out of a hole, and then you go and kill an alien grunt (or two, I forget) and collect some supplies, with the music still going. And then the battle starts, and every time, I kill everything before the song even reaches the climax. It's kind of a shame.
Nah, the agrunts are dead already

See, this is why it feels good to play it again. I have forgotten so many things that it actually kind of feels fresh.
Oh, and while we're on the topic of music, I really love the eerie music cue that comes up when you kill the Gargantua. Instead of giving you satisfying victory music, it just reminds you that you're still stuck in an underground hellhole filled with monsters, and that the thing you just killed is just one of many.
Yes, I can't believe I almost forgot that part.
And that's exactly what I'm talking about. Some of the music like that sounds so different to the less fitting tracks it's almost like it was designed by a different person.
So, I was replaying Black Mesa...

I love those kinds of glitches :v:
Heh, found my old ST wallpaper remake

Tweaked it to use the Revamp crossbow instead of the default

That reminds me of this one time I played BM a couple months ago. While I was in the "Office Complex" chapter, I reached the room with the two scientists where one of them follows you. Some object fell in front of the door, and when the female scientist tried to walk out, she exploded. I really wish I had been recording a demo while it happened.
Wow. I finally played through On a Rail Uncut, and I am shocked at just how much content was in it. It turned On a Rail from a fairly brief and forgettable chapter to one of the most intense and memorable chapters in the game.
How was it crash-wise? I can't even get past the first map without it CTDing.
Also what the fuck, now all of a sudden in the first encounter in WGH the soldiers are throwing grenades like crazy. I've had to throw back like 6 grenades at different times in the fight.

It only crashed once near the end, when I quickloaded. But that was the only time, and it was a similar message to the ones I get when I crash near the beginning of Surface Tension.
