Hmm
Probably late, but never saw this before

The B2 map crashed frequently when I got to the destroyed tram lift at the end, I'd also get all sorts of horrific errors where half the world suddenly stopped rendering when I dropped down into room full of zombies, these errors don't always happen but it's absolutely strange as fuck when it does.
Also, the credits music is kind of disappointing. It starts off sounding really cool and atmospheric, but then it quickly turns into really generic rock.
End Credits Part 2 makes up for it.
Also, Joel Nielsen got feedback in the forum and he is working on implementing the music better.
The soundtrack itself is very well made, considering that Joel is not actually a composer and still made the soundtrack.
Does anyone have the ability to or a tutorial on how to decompile maps? Id like to try my hand at fixing the FAF HECU battle so it flows better with the music and feels like a big final battle with them but I don't have a clue on how to decompile.

I really respect him for accepting feedback and changing things up accordingly. It gives me a lot of faith in the final release of Black Mesa.
Attempted to make a HD-pack styled tripmine texture

I didn't know painting new elements on a texture was the same as raising the contrast

The game's steam release is probably really close by now. Xen might be released late this year or early next year, if you're .
I feel like it could be kind of cool if valve helped them polish certain things up and also made a console version of BM.
Where'd you find that rating image?
On the website..

while it would be possible, I doubt it due to the horrible state of source on consoles/they would basically need to re-write source for 360/PS3/XBO/PS4, especially if they plan on sticking with a OB/13 branch
[editline]facepunch is fun[/editline]
Not to mention they'd have to sell it, which would be breaking their promise

Bloodshot12 on gamebanana is...
Bloodshot12. Not hawkshadow.

Odd, when I went to the website it was still the old homepage, I just checked again and I see the new page now.
Doesn't have to be a game that costs money to be rated by the ESRB
Yeah, there's no reason for many F2P games not to have a rating.
I can't tell if that's passive aggressive or...?
an ESRB rating is completely voluntary
I'm kind of pretty sure it costs money to have things rated.
Also has Copyright up to 2014 now as well.
if they are doing a retail version, I'd pay for it
I'd only pay for it if they patched and polished the everloving fuck out of it first. And included On a Rail/Surface Tension Uncut.
[editline]6th November 2013[/editline]
Wait, what am I thinking? OaR/ST Uncut would have to be pre-order DLC.

No I'm serious, there are many games that are neither retail nor purchasable but they're huge and it would be totally stupid not to have a rating just because of that.
I'm kind of pretty sure it costs money to have things rated.
What does the rating itself costing money have to do with anything?

the fact that as it stands, being an online video game (a free one at that), it is pointless to have an ESRB rating and would really just waste money making the game look more "official".
If they're going through the trouble of wadding out cash to get the game rated by ESRB, It would make sense for there to be a retail release. Doesn't Gamestop and other games retailers require ESRB/Pegi Ratings before said games are sold in the stores?
Simple observations of course, we can't know for sure.
There are free to play digital only games on Steam with ESRB ratings.
Ratings are voluntary because people wanted to avoid having the government rate games.

Uh I know I'm a bit late but the HD Pack is a real thing you know
Interesting. In the source for the new main page for Black Mesa, there's an ASCII HL logo, and a comment with the link www.bmrf.us.
This is probably related to the ARG they've had going for a while.
