Thanks
Are they going to make every model in the game have more polygons? I know they want to make it look better but I hope it doesn't eat up too much time. We already got a very large portion of BM but I hope we won't have to wait super long for Xen.
I'm afraid of them getting into a "lets rebuild everything but better" mentality. Yeah there were spots to improve but that doesn't mean everything needs redoing.
They already did that during the original development, and are conscious about it. I have faith that they won't repeat that mistake. What bkdale is doing is shine up a lot of the places that they didn't time for in the first place, or just improving models that look lackluster.
I hate to have to ask, but is there a fix for the lump 53 crash? I've gotten it so many times I've looked around and found nothing, but facepunch can be crafty sometimes.
I didn't like it at first, I got used to it and it's not so bad, but if it could be better then why not. The HECU had the worst voices, and Eli's was okay, it had to grow on me though. On the other hand Kleiner, the Scientists, Barney (especially Barney) were all fantastic and I hope they don't change those.
still think the scientists sound frustratingly weak.
Here is some more from bkdale86. http://forums.blackmesasource.com/showthread.php?p=579923

Oh never mind Starscre4M already uploaded it.
-snip-
Thanks mate. :)
[t]http://i.imgur.com/cCrANzD.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/7phAu6E.jpg[/t]
Okay, this is getting ridiculous. Here I'm not even sure which one is supposed to be the improved one.
Okay, this is getting ridiculous. Here I'm not even sure which one is supposed to be the improved one.
the one that looks less like plastic
Okay, this is getting ridiculous. Here I'm not even sure which one is supposed to be the improved one.
The one on the left is the improvement.
You see it once or twice, you don't need to improve it!
You see it once or twice, you don't need to improve it!
why bother doing a remake if improvement has a cap?
why bother doing a remake if improvement has a cap?
Amen.
why bother doing a remake if improvement has a cap?
What? I just think there's far more stuff to focus on than things that you see once or twice. From distance.
I have a hunch they are working on "far more stuff".
Honestly, the stuff they're "improving" doesn't look really much improved, just slightly different.
More than working on the models, I'm more interested on improving the maps to avoid griefing. Along my playthroughs it was pretty easy to bug scenes or skip zones.
the one that looks less like plastic
That didn't help at all. One looks like it's covered by vaseline, the other like paper.
More than working on the models, I'm more interested on improving the maps to avoid griefing. Along my playthroughs it was pretty easy to bug scenes or skip zones.
i don't quite believe you understand the meaning of "griefing"
i don't quite believe you understand the meaning of "griefing"
I don't know what's the word for singleplayer. Probably bugging or glitching.
"Exploiting map logic" or something like that.
has there been any word on xen? it's been quite a while now
has there been any word on xen? it's been quite a while now
black mesa's first release announcement came out of the blue just fucking wait, christ
no
Imagine if suddenly someone registered a website domain "afterlambda.com" with nothing but a hudge counter and a big lambda logo and after everyone would be super-hyped for HL3 it would be revealed that it's "just" xen for BM:S [sp]thats probably one of the reasons why there were no hype-inducing ARG's before the mod's relase in 2012 [/sp]
