Black Mesa Source V5 - "They're still working on Xen?"

Trading cards, then.
I bet the hologram assistant will have a unused stripper easter egg animation.
It's also worth mentioning that with the payed version the team will have access to more source code and can actually fix issues instead of whatever circumvention or hackish workarounds they had to deal with before. Also, I think I recall some of them saying they're looking into things like Workshop support.
Yeah, the BMS Team (now called the Crowbar Collective) has full access to what ever version of the source engine Valve is currently licensing.

I hope this will fix the crashing I get when too much stuff is going on. I would love to give them money if they work that out.

Improving it one phone cable at a time,
Am I the only one thinking none of these "redone" models look that much better? As much as I love BMS, there's a good amount of broken things in it that I think should be taken care of before they fix the stuff that were never a problem to begin with?

You're assuming anything that was broken isn't being/hasn't been fixed.
Bkdale is working on detail and prop models. He's not the only one working on models in the game, he's just one of the few developers sharing their own work as it's completed. It's also hard for us to know just how much better the new models/textures are, because (in most cases) we aren't seeing any "before" shots to compare them against.

It's a fair assumption. All they've been showing is more "detailed" props. And whenever they do show a comparison, they don't even look that better than the other, just kinda different.
I'd like to hear them address some of the more glaring issues, such as the soldiers AI
They're a decently large team and 1 guy is posting updates on models he thinks aren't up to scratch, or making detailed models to replace brushes. It's not a fair assumption. The mod came out nearly 2 years ago, and you think all they've done is detail a few models? Don't be silly.
Here's a post from a programmer (though back in September, mind you):
I've indicated in other posts that I want to do another pass on AI. However, we're also pushing to get our next release out so it may fall to the wayside until a future release. Right now the team has its hands full. Porting to 2013 was supposed to be easy (and it was). However, the porting process has broken some stuff in very subtle ways. We've plowed through a huge chunk of these and fixed them but there are still a few things that remain. Those subtle issues are the priority right now :)
I gotta say though, those consoles look kinda lacking in detail, especially the status indicators.
[editline]12th June 2014[/editline]
I can't get further in detail about what I mean, because my damn school blocks imgur.
That Hazard Course looks incredible, it's amazing to see how much interest there is in a mod for a mod of a 15 year old game.
Hey, so I've been hunting everywhere for a link to this vortigaunt reskin by Joazzz in the last version of the thread:

Does anybody know where I could find this beauty? Joazzz, please? You may not think it's so great, but I consider the skin perfect!

Keep in mind it's a prop remake. The original looked like this:

Whether it's really amazingly detailed (however you define that), it looks vastly better than it did, and is clearly more detailed, which is the goal.

Oh wow, that is huge.
That's a huge change, they can go ahead and take their time.
I think the original prop was from CS:S?

Now I got back home, and I can define what I mean.
I agree the rest of this console looks good, but these indicators on the top don't look really appealing to me. The bottom plates of them just look a bit too bland.
-snip-
I pray to god Valve won't release Source 2 anytime soon or we'll wait another 8 years.

Been trying to find that myself, I wish he put it on gamebanana

I know it's stupid, and is probably totally wrong because a dev said otherwise, but is it possible the BM team is working with Source 2?

doubt it, but they might have upgraded to the portal 2 engine though.

What is the modeler supposed to do about the soldier's AI?
Model them a better brain obviously.
Been trying to find that myself, I wish he put it on gamebanana
Oh how I wish he had, too! That's it, I'm gonna message him. I don't like to PM people but this is the only course of action now.
If he's okay with releasing it and providing the files, I'll share them back here for you, I promise.

I'm saying for the mod in general.

I've been working on this for a while, do you guys think it'll work in source?
If you bake it down to a low poly version it will.
Yeah, Source definitely won't like it as it is.
