So, what shall we do now while the Sourcemods are broken? We could wait for the SteamPipe trouble to be over with, or temporarily use the Alien Swarm engine!
If only.
ANIMATION REVAMP PROJECT IS DONE! DL: http://blackmesa.gamebanana.com/skins/126786
Thank god, default animations in black mesa are probably even worst than l4d2 default animations
Oh god!
YES Too bad we have to wait for an update to get the MP5 since he doesn't have the final texture yet. Anybody have a screen of the M4 he used?
Not my picture: [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/919013148706713491/2EC98BFECF4E8A64EC377F5D41233778B739AC51/[/t]
well, i guess you could call it the bm:s HD Pack, has the m4 in it (for now)
Shame the FOV is so close though, I don't like close FOV's like that. That and there are a lot of bugs where there is no sound, which there's a fix for, but it's not included and you need to go do it yourself. Meh.

It's better to go into the scripts folder and change the FOV per-weapon - this way you can customize it so every weapon has a good FoV (Because some looked better at 60, while others looked better at 75, etc.) He updated the file. It now includes the Hgun, spas-12 sound is fixed, and the missing grenade model is included.
bind "mouse1 "+attack;viewmodel_fov chooseyoursetting"
viewmodel_fov command works wonders.
Yeah but I don't feel like doing that every time I launch the game. I already have to set my settings because BM doesn't save them. [editline]8th June 2013[/editline]
Don't install any of the "weapon_" scripts to keep default fov.
That's more helpful though. I gotta do a fresh install of BM anyway, mine's getting too unstable. I'll look through everything and pick out what I want later.
A friend gave me these FOVs to use, slap in the scripts folder. Might be better for ya
Wow, check out BMS\sound\physics\flesh if you still have BM installed, first file. Pretty cool HL1-esque gibbing sound, too bad it's not used in game, but if you replace the gib impact sounds it might simulate it well enough, considering how fast gibs fly in BM.
I really like this hd remake, I was playing on normal difficulty and damn the hecu soldiers were so hard I kept dying at that part where you need to kill the transport ship so it doesn't send more soldiers. Easy peasy except I couldn't get past their spawn point without having to use buddha. Not to mention even further at some point you have a tank and a soldiers scattered all around the damn place I simply gave up at that point and buddha all way through.
Made a small gibbing sound mod using some sounds from the anim pack and some unused sounds from BM
Made a small gibbing sound mod using some sounds from the anim pack and some unused sounds from BM
That´s so GoldSrc. I like it.
Here's the download http://www.mediafire.com/download/eixsro5qu7y89q5/GibMod.rar Also it's not in the video, but the heavier gib "smash" sounds also play when a body falls from a really high height, so if you blow somebody off a ledge and they land near you, it kind of makes it sound like their bones are breaking
I want to replay BM with new animations but I don't really like the blood effect on your hands and weapons. How do you disable it?
I want to replay BM with new animations but I don't really like the blood effect on your hands and weapons. How do you disable it?
I believe in the menu under the tab "Black Mesa" there should be a checkbox to disable it.
I want to replay BM with new animations but I don't really like the blood effect on your hands and weapons. How do you disable it?
I actually really like that effect. How'd they do it?
I actually really like that effect. How'd they do it?
Beats me, man. I really like it, too. Me and my brother would have the Headcrabs spill their blood on our Crowbar, then we'd say it's our new camouflage for the day.
I actually really like that effect. How'd they do it?
Overlayed materials over a model, similar to in L4D with the bile.
Textfamguy1 is working on ST Uncut 2.0 for those of you who are unaware Also BMS related http://hl2.gamebanana.com/skins/125322 I wish the anim project would work with this, but I'd at least used part of it because I hate the regular HL2 rocket launcher (though that would probably not work well with the separate hands).
Overlayed materials over a model, similar to in L4D with the bile.
Now to port it to HL2? :D
From what I heard it wasn't that hard to turn it on, some Boolean somewhere to allow materials to be applied to view models. in the SDk code though, so you would have to make a new mod.
I just found this for everyone who's waiting for Xen : http://www.moddb.com/mods/black-mesa-xen-improved-maps-from-half-life/downloads/black-mesa-xen-alpha-01
Almost done, just gotta correct the colouring of the helmets. I might make them grey, but I'm not sure yet.
