You should record it and put on Youtube. "Uncle plays Black Mesa for the first time"
At least he'd know how to crouch-jump.
At least he'd know how to crouch-jump.
WOW, bugged nephew mechanics
So I was playing Black Mesa again and I got to Eli and Kliener after the Resonance Cascade happened and this happened. That made my day.
Hello, Black Mesa fans. What's your opinion on Black Mesa? Do you think it truly represents Half-Life 1 in HD? I do think so. They made the game superb, just like Valve would do it. I like every aspect of it. I really feel like I'm playing the modern-day Half-Life 1  (Of course there are some issues with it, like the horrible AI, but that will be fixed in the retail version) Vote "agree" emoticon if you also think Black Mesa is a "Valve-quality" product: Half-Life 1 in HD. Vote "disagree" emoticon if you disagree with the above statement. Vote "optimistic" emoticon if you don't know what to say. I'm also waiting for your replies. I'd say it exceeds Valve's quality, though more for detail sake than anything else. I just found the restructuring of the speech weird, where it sounds like they try as hard as they can to not sound like the original voices.

So this will be fixed.

Locations and level design, plus the general design quality, easily makes up for that, in my opinion. And I have faith that the developers will fix the aspects of the mod failed, when the actual game is released.
And I have faith that the developers will fix the aspects of the mod failed, when the actual game is released.
We're trying our best, I'll tell you that!
We're trying our best, I'll tell you that!
The only thing we hope, is that you fulfill the promise made by the team of releasing the source code of the Mod version, since they said to do it after Xen and the multiplayer were done.
We're trying our best, I'll tell you that!
I love you
The only thing we hope, is that you fulfill the promise made by the team of releasing the source code of the Mod version, since they said to do it after Xen and the multiplayer were done.
There was never a "promise" made. We said we planned to do it. As far as I'm aware, that's still the plan, as the last thing to do - our lead programmer Deniz is very passionate about open source. But plans change, and we may not be able to for any number of reasons (including legal). Also, I don't think that's the only thing you guys hope for ;P
I love you
Aww, well I love you too. No homo. (Maybe just a little homo.)

Shoot! I remember when I was just a kid and played Half-Life 1, I backtracked when I got the crowbar and decided to whack a sitting scientist who happens to never die. I chuckled because it was funny (to me) that he got injured...but my family didn't see it the same way, it is a violent game that contains BLACK humor. Even my father was extremely upset about it.

Imagine if that was the uncensored version.
It's violent but Half Life 1 has 0 comedic value. speaking of half life source, i really think they should just give it to all half-life 1 owners I mean seriously, you can't just market off a game for $10 simply because it has a different engine. At the very least reduce the price! [editline]5th December 2014[/editline] Also, the female assassins in this game have buggy ragdolls. Their arms will twist and contort like they're broken.
They don't gib either, but that's because true beauty is never tarnished.
I always assumed it was the superalloy catsuits that allow them to take shotgun blasts to the chest and still sprint around like spiders on caffeine that kept them from being gibbed.
They don't gib either, but that's because true beauty is never tarnished.
wow what are you saying about the lady scientists rude
wow what are you saying about the lady scientists rude
young women in skin tight suits> old Female scientists but seriously, I was referencing an example from the TV Tropes page for Black Mesa called "Beauty is Never Tarnished"
Any of you good folk over here at Facepunch like to help us at Black Mesa? We are looking for talented animators! Send us your best work in the form of a demo reel, playable level, or other easily accessible form to: jobs@blackmesasource.com If we're interested in your application, you will be sent an art test with a prebuilt rig and character, and a set of animations to create in a timely manner.
I'd love to help, but I couldn't animate a trash can falling over.
I'd love to help, but I couldn't animate a trash can falling over.
it's the thought that counts?
-snip-
I can't help myself, but maybe try contacting this guy? He did a reanimation pack for the initial release of Black Mesa and it's gorgeous.
This video doesn't do him justice. It's his older crowbar re-animation video, the left hand doesn't show anymore.
Man, I hope the retail release will make it a bit easier for modders to reimplement the missing campaign beats and change assets if they want to. Preferably without having to directly overwrite the base game files, that shit gives me anxiety attacks.
Do Black Mesa work with Synergy?
