I wish would've known what that was going to be before I middle-click opened that on a new tab. Volume was high, scared the shit out of me. Also it's probably just an easter egg. It's not really about anything that could be related to Xen or an ARG
What about a release of the existing version on Steam? Preferably with all the new and improved stuff?
What about a release of the existing version on Steam? Preferably with all the new and improved stuff?
The existing version is going to become a demo when the Steam version is released.
What about a release of the existing version on Steam? Preferably with all the new and improved stuff?
Then that would just be the new version then, wouldn't it?
Oh, I was hoping they were going to announce the release date for the steam release. "I want my custom Black Mesa dammit!"
I think Brian has stopped his blog posts.:suicide:

I don't do this for your approval or anyone else's. What you say contradicts itself and therefore seems a waste of a post. Thanks for posting how boring you found these 17 Blogs.
aw
I know how you feel, bro.
aw
On the bright side he'll probably have a ton more stuff to show us the next time he does post
The guy seems a little thin skinned and can't take any hint of criticism. Such a shame, as he's clearly talented.
Are there any ongoing projects to recreate Blue Shift and Opposing Force using Black Mesa assets? Not necessarily by the BMS dev team.

http://tripminestudios.com/ These guys are making both Opposing Force (Operation: Black Mesa) and Blue Shift (Guard Duty).
but those aren't using BM assets there was a BM blue shift mod that has died down, as they're waiting for steam release before going any further (i think)

Did any devs say whether they're going to fix the tentacles not reacting to sound in any way?

Something is happening with the ARG apparently. http://www.kxbm.net/article/?10360/a...vacuation-zone
Speaking of which, (although I'm not sure if it's relevant) did anyone ever dig in the sound folder of the game? When going to sound\BMS_scripted\qe you'll find a MP3 file named 'qecode' It sounded like SSTV, so I quickly downloaded a SSTV decoder which picked up this: http://kittehcat.org/upl/2015-02-21-1025-39.mp4 Don't know how to embed this one, so I have to paste the URL.

Juniez posted this tiny-ass thumbnail on the BMS forums of the crossbow [t]http://puu.sh/gaqrZ/234cf92c78.jpg[/t] There's no bigger one unfortunately
So were there any new info about the engine they're using? A lot of people thought it's Source 2, but I didn't buy it back then; then the Dota 2 stuff happened, then GDC and "Source 2 is free!" happened, and now it sounds a lot more feasable

In my opinion, the NPC's MP5 and Spas-12 sounds are pretty much the weakest sounds in Black Mesa. The MP5 sounds nothing like the player's and is also extremely quiet at mid to long range (where most MP5 engagements take place), where the bullet-hitting-material sound is much louder than the bullet-being-shot sound. The Shotgun sound, on the other hand, is extremely loud to the point of obscenity (you can hear it from the far end of a giant map (bm_playground_v1)), and also sounds extremely weird and nothing like a Spas-12 (there's a sort of 'pwow' and Battlefield-style extreme echo sound at the end). So I made a sound mod for BM that changes this. The NPC MP5 has been changed to use all three player MP5 sounds, and the Spas-12 has been given the player Spas-12 sound + pump sound. Haven't really been that up to date with BMS discussion, so just a few questions - Are the AI soldiers going to be less bullshit now? They have a tendency to spin on a dime and have pinpoint accuracy - What exactly is being remodelled? Literally everything, or just a select group of things that weren't up to snuff?
any non-original assets aka ones made by not the BMS team.
any non-original assets aka ones made by not the BMS team.
But I've seen those green ammo crates, the breakroom counters, and computer dashboards being remodelled. I thought those were original, were they not?
Also they've redone the first person arm models (which they've yet to show), and mentioned something about weapons too.
Hopefully they've drastically improved the crowbar animations.
