Black Mesa Source V5 - "They're still working on Xen?"
If people were to simply stop nitpicking my posts which are innocent enough as it is,then I wouldn't have to reply. In this case,I did have to,since he was unintentionally misinforming people about exactly what the new release version will change. To some who didn't like Black Mesa, what he stated if they were to believe it would bring them disappointment in the product.
And I am literally not making every other post in the thread, though you are literally illiterate about the proper definition of what is literal.
Holy shit I said stop, for your ow n fucking good
Jesus christ Max. You were banned from our forums so your solution is to come and spam up something else Black Mesa related? Instead of continually whining about how everyone persecutes you and how people always seem to construe everything you do as "passive aggressive," have you considered, I don't know, actually changing the way you behave and interact over forums? Otherwise, you're just playing the victim.
BACK ON TOPIC.
No new weapons. I would have thought that would be super obvious, given our overall direction. There is nothing more to say on that topic whatsoever.
So where's that stream upload?
Give us another week or two, tops. We've got something else coming that will put that stream to shame. It will all make sense!

The ban was based on nothing more than a misinterpretation of my uh... stupidity of failing to meet the demands of the developer precisely enough, not on spam.
People offer anything but constructive criticism, which would really help. People post prompting a reply from me,seriously. All I've been doing this entire time is discussing things with people when they prompted a discussion EVERY SINGLE TIME IT HAPPENED. And it was like, twice, just the previous page. No joke. Only page 69 and nowhere else. I am aggravated by how I've done a not so bad thing and people are getting really ticked off like I've done some heinous crime worthy of a death sentence.
I bet the stream was great, thank you for at least going so far as to reupload it on VOD so the ones who missed it can watch it.
What about the realism in the maps vs. fun? Will you make big exceptions if it means it's more fun? And will you add an option to skip to Unforeseen Consequences? For people who've already played Half-Life 1 and beat it more than once (such as myself),it's kinda boring.

You're full of shit.
if we all ignore his posts, he'll give up
Hey, what's so bad about HECU zombies? I would like to see them, too, they would fit in Forget About Freeman chapter as yet another sign of HECU losing control of the situation.

This is the last time that I'm going to reply to a post from you, unless you rethink your ideas and the way you write things. Applying basic common sense would answer 95% of the questions you are asking. I am more than happy to answer the community's questions when I am able to, but pretty much everything you write is in the form of you saying "this should be the way I want it" and then thinly veiling it as a question, and it's very grating to read for a developer. I am quite happy to have honest discussions with you about game mechanics and design and our direction, but not in that way.
On the questions - we care way more about fun than we do about realism. Beyond that I'm not even sure what your question even is asking. Marc Laidlaw's post, quoted earlier, really nails the way the Half-Life universe deals with "realism". It's a fine line, and is one we've tried to honour with what we've done. It's a tricky mix, but fun will always be king.
As for skipping UC, we have that. It's called opening the console and typing "map bm_c1a2a". Or just starting a new game from whatever chapter you want. Unless you're trying to seriously suggest we have a pop up which allows the user to skip that chapter, in which case, I really don't know how to respond to that seriously.

Not speaking for the team here, but I do like HECU zombies as an idea, myself. But we have a crazy amount to do already and it is a fair amount of work that I suspect nobody on the team would want to take at this point, all things considered. I'll put it up on our internal tracker as something low priority, and if we get to it, great, but I certainly wouldn't count on it at all. We have plans to improve single player further post release, so this could fit into those somewhere, though I emphasize that I wouldn't expect it. I'm also not sure how the rest of the team feels about the idea, which is something to consider.

Have a good day,I have no other questions. Sorry for possibly being a nuisance.
BM was loads of fun. Eagerly awaiting for the steam release.
Infact I tried reinstalling the mod version a couple days ago and I'm surprised to see it doesn't even apparently work anymore thanks to valve's magic.

It works fine for me?
well okay. guess i'm gonna try another link
Is proper NPC reloading something that the BM devs might work on once everything important is finished? Because it's kind of weird (but not gamebreaking) that all the NPCs reload their guns by doing vague gesturing motions with their arms/hands.
I mean, not that it's really that important, but it does feel out of place in a mod with so much attention to detail.

i haven't seen a single game on source have reloading animations that are anything more than just vague gesturing motions at best
i think its something with the engine
but having shotgun soldiers reload 8 shells in a sec is hardcore
especially when they shoot twice in a row within the same second
Hey guys, Brian just posted this new prop image.

Apparently this image showed up for some people on the workshop homepage
The hell? Did they make an HL2 workshop? Just saw this but when I click it it just takes me to the homepage of the store:

Now correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that from On A Rail?

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has proper reloading animations for the playermodels.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has proper reloading animations for the playermodels.
Counter Strike Source already has that ages ago.
Edit: explain the dumbs, css already has proper reload for player models.

Yeah, looks like a couple hidden Workshops have shown up on the workshop page.
They're still locked, so clicking on them takes you to the main store page.

Yeah that would be awesome, I'm glad that they have security zombies. Variety is the spice of life after all.

I hope it becomes a possibility down the line.

Also put some full-res screenshots in there taken from the map files.
Okay I forgot, is MP going to be in both versions or in the paid version only?
Yeah, just searched for some older posts on the BM forums and found it. But thanks.

I'm editing the QE maps to be pre-disaster.
Context? New props?
