Thing with UE for me, I'm actually playing it right now, is I got unlucky and apparently the GTX 960 specifically still has some problems, sometimes textures never load in and audio gets fucked a bit. But I'm told the 960 is fine in Gears 4.
Biggest gripe for me with UE's launch on pc really is how they did it. A pc announcement at e3 saying its coming holiday 2015, we get almost no news on the pc launch until March where they just announce on twitter that the game is out, no advertising or anything. If the UE port had crossplay for MP it be perfect.

Social is popular as shit. Horde you get into a game quite fast. Ranked currently is abit. Empty. Takes sometime to find a match or if you even find a match at all. Tho the release is later tonight so we'll see how it is then.

I feel that rank being a bit empty compared to social will always be the case though, when I played Gears 3 in it's prime, even then rank was considerably empty. Though I think the only issue with that in Gears 4 is that as far as I know the game is balanced differently in ranked and social now.

I only ask now because if the game is populated in early access, I assume it will do better with its full release.
Yeah it takes me forever to find a match at my rank, there's barely any people here in ranked. Social and Horde are quick though thankfully. Haven't run into the same people either

Doesn't seem that way. I don't own it so I can't say for certain, but I looked up all the skins and it seems like that's not 100% true. You can get a CoG with Clayton-style armor, but without the tattoos and custom paint. And there's a cog with Gears 1 looking armor. But there's no Ben Carmine looking gear, and none of them have the same voices and all that.
Also whoever came up with those "color blast" skins should be fired yesterday.

The color blast skins are awful. I rock the E-Day gear (Anthony armor) with an Ember Lancer, Black walnut Gnasher (Best Buy preorder bonus) and a gold plated snub. I love the customization but the color blast skins are just really awful.

People seem to like it in CoD, and people seem mostly ok at Halo doing it now too.

It was pretty bad in judgement too, instead of different characters for MP it was just recolors. I hate how it looks, but I'm not entirely against it now that we don't have to buy the MP maps to play them in a public rotation. And I'm guessing part of that is due to the cosmetics sales.

I just wish they'd make skins that don't look like shit and fit with the game. The color-blast skins aren't just dumb, but they're [I]ugly[/I]. Why can't we get good looking weapon skins and not LOL PIZZA GUN!!! Something like Locust-themed versions of CoG guns or vice-versa?

Yeah that's really it it looks insanely stupid and that's why people use them. It also makes you stand out a lot more ingame so I don't really know why you'd want to do that to yourself. Thankfully I have seen most people with good taste and only a few color blast skins, and most of them were on the swarm side. I have only seen like one or two COG color blast skins.

I completely agree, I hate anything that doesn't look remotely like Gears 1 (Even the team colored highlights they have in MP). But the majority of the Gears community to be blunt is stupid, and have shit taste. Go to the gears of war forums and you might contemplate suicide. Majority of them like this shit, even more if it's remotely edgy or meme-y. If I had it my way the MP art would be as lore friendly as possible, but these shit skins are popular and the dlc ones fund free mp maps.
Though to be specific about color blast, I don't think anyone likes that shit, I'm sure it's throwaway filler because there's already a lack of MP skins compared to gears 3.
In terms of joke characters in the Gears of War series, the most I'd want to see are the trashball skins those were alright.

Finally managed to "unfuck" windows store and I can finaly download the game...
Game is fan-tastic. Ran like shit first time I launched it, struggled 20 fps during the prologue at lowest settings, but I just restarted the game after it crashed and it ran a smooth 60 at its recommended settings (High on my rig).
I won't be playing as much as I'd like to because windows 10 games make my computer BSOD spontaneously, but for my Gears of War it's worth the risk.
If you wanna play my gt is "niceguyhenry", and I promise I'm actually nice.
For some reason the store is telling me I have to re-install the game, even though I can still see the 80gbs sitting in WindowsApps. And when I try to re-install I get that "Something happened on our end, try again" message.
I hate you windows store, [B]SO[/B] much.
