Playing through on insane
I want to kill myself
It's kind of funny actually, they ruined insane difficulty imo in Gears 3 by removing getting downed on insane difficulty under the guise of "We're making it like Gears 1 the game the fans the love the most, where on insane you wouldn't go down you would just die". When in actuality you would never go down in the singleplayer campaign of Gears 1 on any difficulty, instead you would just die because the AI couldn't revive you. But in Gears 1 co-op insane (And Gears 2 if my memory serves me correctly) you could still revive each other.
I lived in Gears of War 3 behind the scene documentaries and on the forums leading up to it's launch and after, but I can't seem to find a source on this though so take it with a grain of salt.
I enjoyed the campaign, but I'm gonna pretty much echo a lot of people and say that ending was lame. I mean the stuff that happened in it was fine, and the hook was good, but it was waaaaay to abrupt. It felt like there should have been a few more chapters as wrap up or something. Hell I'd have settled for just some more cutscenes, something to give closure.
The game just sorta... stopped.

I felt the exact same way about act 5, to the point where I was getting annoyed by the amount of enemies because I just wanted to move the plot along, thinking there was still about 30% of the campaign left, just for it to end.
Either way, I think it did a good job of setting up Gears 5 and I look forward to playing it. Just wish 4 didn't have to end on a sequel hook.
There wasn't a whole lot of story in Gears 4 tbh.
Plus, I think they did a crappy job of setting up Baird, Cole, and Sam in just quick notice.
Dude
Seriously
Whoops. Assumed people already know those characters are making an appearance in the campaign since they have their own character models in the multiplayer.
Added in spoiler tags.
[sp]I knew Cole did but had no idea Baird showed up. (You can thank the commercials for telling me Cole shows up.) it's no problem though)[/sp]

I am actually going crazy, I genuinely am starting to fucking hate myself right now on insane
Honestly it's not worth it. They don't even give good gamerscore anymore. The AI is too damn annoying to play on insane.
Yeah skip out on insane and go down to hardcore. Much better experience. Go back to insane once you've learned what to expect. If you could still go down on insane I'd be singing a different tune, but as it stands now, eh.
I played through the story first time on Hardcore, still shit how fast you can complete it despite it being what's basically 'Hard' difficulty.
I just beat it on Insane. Y'all are some pussies. [sp]for real I envy you though, beating this game on insane was fucking AIDS. HOLY SHIT WHAT AN ANNOYING PIECE OF SHIT THE AI ARE ON INSANE. It is essentially RNG for if you beat a section or not. Fucking dumb.[/sp] I also rather enjoy how I get nothing special in MP for beating it.

Would've been nice to level from campaign like you did in Gears 3
Gears 4 seems like a first draft type of game. Like, no other thought was put into just rush the game out. The story was just so weak and most of the time boring. At least horde and multiplayer is fun.
I completely disagree with you guys in that it was rushed and that the ending was abrupt. I loved the story and the new mechanics and the heavy doses of nostalgia that it gave and I thought that the ending did its job well.

They story just ends.
It doesn't even have the Halo 2 cliffhanger of "Finishing this fight". It just stops like, "Well shit, que credits".

What? Dude it ends with the notion that [sp]Kait. Your girlfriend. IS THE GRANDDAUGHTER OF THE LOCUST QUEEN.[/sp]
There is hardly any back story and the characters just fall flat. I didn't have a single reason to care at all about anybody.

OK but we have had no reason to care about her and they just throw that in there. The shock didn't get to me like it should of.
I think part of the reason the story feels so abrupt (at least for me) is because I got so much more invested and interested in learning about the swarm and the modern cog and how it will all intertwine with each other that I forgot that our only goal the entire time was [sp]to find Kait's mom[/sp].

Well finding her made sense because it [sp]brought us to the hive.[/sp]

It definitely made sense, it's just that the more I progressed through the story, the less and less I was thinking about [sp]Kait's mom[/sp]
I enjoyed the campaign, up until it abruptly ended. It was more anticlimactic than Halo 5's Chief VS Locke bitch fight.
Some stuff related to RTJ in GOW4 was put up than quickly taken down by Microsoft/Xbox.

Glad they bothered to touch up Checkout this time, when it was added to Judgement it was one of the most blatant copy/ paste jobs I've ever seen, I think even the thumbnail for it was the same.
I think the easter egg with the Wretch was also still working iirc.

I was never the biggest fan of drydock, but I must say that visually it looks fantastic. I never noticed that you we're playing in a ship under construction in Gears 3, however it look great here.
I'm curious to see how the Kestrel functions on Checkout.
Also not too sure on Drydock. I feel like I'll be mixing it up with Dam for a while. Was hoping for Trenches or River, but there's always next month.

It's fucking $26.99 in Canada on Xbox.
4 Run The Jewels Packs that give you every Run The Jewels card in the game. Get all the characters, bounties, emblems and weapons skins!
Hopefully this means that we can craft the items without having to buy them, cause $20 is fucking dumb for a few skins

You have to buy them.
Fuck The Coalition.

Honestly man, I think it's Microsoft making them put it at that price considering they're a first party studio.
