can you get custom voices in this and what would be the ideal way of putting a pack together i'm tempted to record up some additional voices and put a pack together for variety if there's any desire for it
If the aliens missed my real soldiers half as much as they miss mimic beacons I'd be drowning in colonels by now.
Damn I didn't even know you could start not in India like my playthrough
I also started in India but I believe that might be the default location if you do the tutorial? Just a wild guess
Black market is super duper useful for getting weapon mods and PCS. I really underused skullmining and intel in general in my first playthrough.
Yeah, black market is pretty easy to get superior grade stuff from, it's pretty amazing with the continent bonus discount.
is there a good steam controller config for this? i tried last night on my steam link and its probably one of the better games for it but the controls are so bad i gave up after half a turn, id probably have played a lot more if i didnt have to sit in front of my pc to enjoy it properly [editline]14th February 2016[/editline]
I also started in India but I believe that might be the default location if you do the tutorial? Just a wild guess
i did the tutorial and started in eastern na
Anyone know of a way to get a lot of elerium crystals and fast? I have all the plasma weapons researched and power armor too but I only have 1 elerium crystal. Chrysalids just showed up too. I don't know if I can rely on one-shotting codexes with a crit from a shard cannon much longer
Black Market?
I also started in India but I believe that might be the default location if you do the tutorial? Just a wild guess
I did the tutorial, and started in Mexico.
I think I'm low on intel too, time to research the shit out of these datapads and put skullmining on my specialist
is it usual for avatar sites to be hard to access? its 4 pips from completion and i dont have access to any of the sites to push it back, at best its going to be a race to see if i can get into the next teritory before they complete but that requires either radio towers or a lot of intel
My Tutorial game had me start in east Asia, almost every single game after that has been eastern US or Mexico. Right now I'm in the middle of one that finally started in south Africa
Speaking of HQ locations, I started in north-western Asia (central Russia) and had my black market in India.

While I feel that it could be nice for some people, it makes more sense for them to speak English. I don't know about my own voice, but I'd like to record a voice pack myself.

I always run out of them quickly so I really have to pick and choose what I want to build first in the proving grounds, I can't just get everything I want.

I always run out of them quickly so I really have to pick and choose what I want to build first in the proving grounds, I can't just get everything I want.
To be honest I've only ever been able to get them from missions. I think you also get a few when you capture landed UFOs. But I went through a drought of them right as I got Warden armor, but I couldn't build any of the advanced variants.
I really wish the mission loadout UI had a "make weapons available" button. So I have this one sniper rifle with a superior scope and a superior extended mag, but the person holding it is currently wounded, so I have to take another one of my snipers on the mission. If I want to take the best rifle with me, I have to go back to the armory, equip another weapon on the wounded sniper (good luck remembering exactly which one has it), then go back to the loadout menu and equip it again. It's annoying as fuck that I have to jump through all these hoops just to do that.
There's a mod for that.
Thanks, I'm getting that right now. Haven't even looked into the mods yet since I want to finish my first playthrough completely vanilla, but this is the kind of quality of life thing that should've been in the game right from the start.
Are there any mods that let you change a soldiers class?
Some of you guys have great character biographies. Some of you don't. :smug:
Just had a muton who had literally no way of seeing my squad on the roof of a building chuck a grenade from inside the building to collapse the roof and kill my two best soldiers from the combined grenade and fall damage. Thanks XCOM.
holy shit this could be it what if we made an FP voice pack
I somehow doubt even half the people here have a decent mic, let alone a mic at all.
is overwatch supposed not to trigger randomly? I love this game, but having an advent shitler walk into an overwatch person from miles of open field away and fill his face with lead is altf4-inducing
That's XCOM, baby! It's not a challenge if you never lose. As long as you can get more men and keep the Avatar project from completing you can always bounce back. Don't get mad at video games, roll with the punches and learn from your defeats. That's what XCOM has always been about. Andromedons are definitely one of those enemies that is always dangerous, but now you should be able to form a plan to beat them.
I'm a savescumming bastard, and I'm not afraid to say it.
can you get custom voices in this and what would be the ideal way of putting a pack together i'm tempted to record up some additional voices and put a pack together for variety if there's any desire for it
A page late, but yes. I wrote a tutorial not too long ago on how to import voices into XCOM 2.
holy shit this could be it what if we made an FP voice pack
I don't think that'd be good. I mean, it would be fun if every FP member had their own voice for their character, but like gt118 said; quality and acting ability would mean a no no for me.
FP voiceovers probably wouldn't be that great, but it'd still be fun. I just have a headset, but It'd be fun to give my interpretation of some of the lines.
