thank god for that mod, having the GTS asap is like key if you want to build up xp across the board without being too handicapped.
I don't suppose you can customize the new Skyranger?
So, is the official novel non-canon or something? I thought the game says said theres [sp] been so sign of Vahlen since the war, even though she's in the Novel. [/sp]
Oh, yeah, here's my contribution to the Facepunch pool, along with a variety of other characters I came up with.

Sven 'Reefer' Dahl is my self-insert for the FP pool.

[sp]There's a random encounter you can scan where the Avenger crew uncovers an old lab with a bunch of science notes on it and Vahlen's name is scribbled on them. AFAIK that is the only mention of her actively being present in XCOM 2.[/sp]

[sp]in the novel not even the crew knows if they're alive. There is an obvious double play she made.[/sp]

And then there's the few nods by Bradford and Shen too, i'll be surprised if Vahlen doesn't show up in a DLC.
In the sequel, XCOM 2: Ally Within Vehlen bursts out of Tygan's stomach to reveal she had been undercover the whole time, hunting a top secret mole or something.
wtf is up with the workshop tags

fixed that for you
also reveals that Shen's last gift was Tygan - a bionic to surpass Dr. Vahlen

This is the dumbest situation I have been in so far. There is no way to get to the evac point anymore. This run is over.
oh my goood that happened to me on that exact same parcel in my first playthrough
You can force the game to relocate the evac point by blowing up the roof, but obviously you won't get any extra time and you'll still be boned in that instance
I ran out of grenades, the roof was held up by a single pipe :suicide:

It's funny how Firaxis addressed the issue of seeing the same map over and over by using random generation, but now there's the problem of recognising parts of maps and 99% of the time that means having a 'nam style flashback to the last time you were there.
Like, I was looking through the modding documentation the other day and saw this example image. This was where I had an all-ranger squad wipe just hours before

Finally, someone made a mod that lets hoods have lower face props.

I can now live my dream of being a ninja wizard soldier.
Anyone know how to use ModBuddy? I try to launch the XCOM 2 editor and the button does nothing.
Anyone know how to use ModBuddy? I try to launch the XCOM 2 editor and the button does nothing.
Did you setup the paths correctly? Also, did you read the Quickstart guide first?
Anyone know how to use ModBuddy? I try to launch the XCOM 2 editor and the button does nothing.
You need to setup the executables of the ModBuddy and your Xcom 2 installation before you can do anything.
Did you setup the paths correctly? Also, did you read the Quickstart guide first?
I don't know where that is.
Oh wait I found it. Say what you will about Source, but it's always been more accessible than Unreal, ugh.
I don't know where that is.
The Quickstart guide is in Documentation folder is in the root of your XCOM 2 SDK directory.
Anyways, I'll go ahead and tell you.
Launch Modbuddy, and on the top, find Tools. Click on that, and go to Options. A window should pop up. Scroll all the way down until you see XCOM 2, and click on that.
That's where you'll setup your paths. The install path is looking for your XCOM 2 Game, and the User path is looking for your XCOM 2 SDK path.
I want a mod that replaces the Thin Man with Garrus, I can't think of anyone else when I hear that voice.
I want someone to replace the Viper with the Thinman. Imagine him binding you with his stretchy body and a randomly long tounge.

but then everyone would just accuse you for trading snektits for thindick
Just converted (turns out it was mp3s woops) and assembled all of the compatible files for the Guardsmen voicepack. Got 153 voicelines in total, expect it done by the end of the week.

Captured an ADVENT VIP, I didn't go into the mission knowing it would be a trade. Taggart was able to move 1 tile away from the LZ so instead I had him dash an overwatch so the other 4 guys could get out. He ended the mission like a hero, crying and hunkered down in a corner.
Don't worry, I'll get you back. You even earned a promotion, things were going well before ADVENT decided to send their reinforcements on top of the LZ.
So I got a VIP mission. We had to gear up a make shift squad as many people are gravely wounded and I don't have the AWC finished yet. This VIP is particularly special though.

I said I'd get you back Taggart, I ain't no liar.

Many more people were injured, leaving only 4 soldiers fit for duty, but it was worth it.
Now I just have to deal with this UFO that took the Avenger down and get over to America before the final tick of the Avatar project is finished and everything will be back on track. The difference between Veteran and Commander sure is something.
The fact that some entire building sets don't have targeting collision models on their floors is making this game almost unplayable
I am scumming hard to avoid this sectopod being seen by my troops and aggroing it but since it is upstairs this proves impossible, so I have to fight it and like 2 other squads at once
I brought the SKULL Unit on the final mission.
[sp]That was the hardest shit ever what the FUCK Firaxis.[/sp]
Nobody died, but I'm a bit peeved the game counts a mind controlled enemy getting killed as a casualty in the overarching score for the end of the game.

In Memoriam: Shieldbearers #2, #16, and #2796; Mu-Tons of Fun, the Friendly Muton; Mr. Bubbles the Androgynous; Fido the Chryssalid; and lastly, Sam, the ADVENT Captain.
Goddamn, they were good soldiers.

So Burpo the 'Lid was buried with full millitary honors?
How do you think I could tweak the Avenger Defense mission to make it not piss-easy. I'm thinking tons of squads, but at the same time that probably doesn't fix sneaking in with a ranger and having a sniper kill the device. Perhaps someone could edit the spawning positions to make the aliens all hug the device and send 1 or 2 pods at a time. Like a police siege or something.
I think as this save goes on it gets buggier and buggier

With the amount of strategies people can come up with to cheese the game, I wonder if these missions were properly playtested to iron it out, Avenger Defence and "destroy relay" Guerilla Op mission. Because let's face it, firing at an item that has to be destroyed from across the map is borderline cheat.
I think the best way to rectify that would be to somehow make it so relays and EMP devices don't show on squad sight or have tons of armour so they require explosives/grenadiers to be taken out.
On another subject, I think I'm spending more time downloading customization mods and playing around with how my troops look than actually playing the game.

Add a pod or two on guard duty for the device.
