Anyone else miss the Action-Figure artstyle from EU?
New artstyle is fine, only problem I have is the new version of Titan armor (sorry, don't know the name of it yet) and the plasma weapons.
Anyone else miss the Action-Figure artstyle from EU?
While I didn't hate it, I was annoyed that guns were different sizes for male and female. I also didn't like that it made male troopers look like ogres. If I had to choose, I prefer XCOM 2's style. Was silly though that a male with a Light Plasma Rifle had a weapon the same size as a female with a Full Plasma Rifle.

The tier 3 gear is just don't fit in at all with the aesthetic of the others. We go from large, bulky looking gear to super sleek. I feel like the XCOM1 style of the tier 3 armor would work so much better since it's an undersuit with actual armor pieces on top instead of ME1 cosplay with blue lights.

It fails to strike a balance between looking like rugged, guerilla ops gear and armor designed with looks in mind.

[editline]17th February 2016[/editline] [t]http://puu.sh/nb7sv/6de8f30ef3.png[/t] swapped which house was being raided, this one fits better added a bunch of barricades and stuff, ignore the door not being broken down yet! also PilotGuy came through with this awesome work: [t]http://puu.sh/nb7xD/3c6bb00114.png[/t]
Working on a Freeman's Mind voice pack. I'm using the isolated voice tracks Ross was kind enough to release a few years ago. This is incredibly time consuming. I've reached episode 22 and I nearly have 400 unique voice files already. I hope there isn't a limitation on how many audio files you can use.
I never beat EU/EW on normal, only easy. I started out xc2 on normal and quickly went to easy. Watching beagle is like watching a mastermind. I feel so stupid, rightfully. Hopefully I'll win on easy and move to veteran. Glad this game has so much replayability.
Again, don't use Beagle's videos as reference to your gameplay. His first playthrough was on a beta release where he heavily exploited a bug that doesn't exist anymore to beat the game. His new playthroughs were either heavily modded or heavily .ini edited. Little of what Beagle do in his playthroughs is going to be useful for someone playing vanilla, specially because his usual tactic from EU/EW (relying on overwatch traps) is useless in X2 due to mission timers and he's struggling/complaining a lot about it too (without good reasons, in my personal opinion - he just don't want to let his old playstyle go).

I hope one of his panic lines is when he's at the dam and says "NO I CHANGE MY MIND I DON'T WANNA DIE!"
There's a lot of dialogue in that episode I'm looking forward to using

Hes editting because its ezmode for him. He spoiled his youtube Legendary Iron Man playthroughs ending on stream [sp]he perfected 43 missions, never lost any of the 52 missions and lost no soldiers[/sp] But yeah, Beagles tactics are very exploity so i wouldnt use them as your base tactics.

I'm saying exactly that he's not a regular player so his tactics will mean nothing to you if you don't have the same .ini edits or mods. His videos are entertaining and you should watch them, but not as a guide.

So I'm trying to make a Facepunch flag but it keeps giving me errors about not being able to find the texture. :hairpull: ModBuddy is NOT user friendly
[t]http://puu.sh/nbe9I/dd6193ee72.jpg[/t] Map Expansion Project: Advent Workshop Link The first release of the Map Expansion Project, 'MEP: Advent' adds a number of new ADVENT map PCPs and Parcels to the XCOM 2 map generation pool, creating more variation in the levels that are generated for you to enjoy. You don't need to do anything except subscribe and enable the mod in the launcher - the level generator will automatically add the new content to generated levels. Compatible with any other new parcel/PCP packs. Currently the mod contains: New ADVENT checkpoints House raids Traffic stops Please feel free to suggest new content for this pack, as well as the next area you'd like the Map Expansion Project to cover! Thanks to PilotGuy for the awesome Workshop image!
This "Lightly Wounded - Wounded - Gravely Wounded" system must be high in my current game. Some dude gets poked for not even a quarter of his health? Gravely Wounded. Another guy gets shot to shit by a Heavy MEC. Almost killed him in one hit. NOPE I'M FINE, JUST A SMALL SCRATCH SIR.

In my last mission I had a grenadier take one damage from poison which was healed immedietely, and my ranger went into bleed-out. Grenadier gravely wounded. Ranger wounded :what:

I've only been watching his XCOM 2: Live and Legendary videos and it doesn't appear to be modded beyond some camera control stuff. No evidence of true concealment because some missions he does still start with a timer. He also said in his first episode (when he was still on a review copy) that he wasn't going to use his cheap overwatch bait technique or w/e because it'd be patched.
http://pastebin.com/JkaqAbuA here are some of his .ini modifications and mods if you ever want to use his tactics in your games though
that feel when you perfectly move after killing a pod and during the moment when the 2nd pod is offscreen and when they move into view you have a whole set of actions on the next turn. compared to the opposite where you're killing a pod and when a 2nd pod of enemies pops up when you moved your last guy with actions to a different location on his blue turn

That's not .ini-modded, is it? And the activation glitch in the beta isn't used? From what I managed to see so far he's subject to the same mission timers as everybody else, forcing a more aggressive playstyle compared to the endless Overwatch cheeses. His videos are entertaining and you should watch them, but not as a guide.
The only "complaints" I've heard from him about overwatch traps not being viable in XCOM 2 were less like complaints and more like the occasional "man I wish I could pull that off right now that'd be sick". From what I've heard he thinks of it more as a mild inconvenience. It did require him to change a lot about his playstyle, but who didn't have to do that? EU/EW is basically designed around blue move - overwatch unless it's a timed mission. Why would you not take advantage of potentially destroying an entire activated pod in a game that is actively cheating against you? It threw me off too in XCOM 2 when I tried that and discovered the aliens got to have free reign on my soldiers after only killing one of their guys in an overwatch ambush. And from that point on I changed my tactics. And he doesn't always run with his .ini edits.
http://pastebin.com/JkaqAbuA here are some of his .ini modifications and mods if you ever want to use his tactics in your games though
From what I can tell, those edits are for his next campaign/current streaming he's calling Legendary+ and have nothing to do with his Live and Legendary episodes on his YouTube channel.
http://pastebin.com/JkaqAbuA here are some of his .ini modifications and mods if you ever want to use his tactics in your games though
I agree with Beagle on Deadeye so much. Easily the most useless skill. Now I have a reference as to how to play when I finish current run. I think I'd also take the mod that adds +2 to most alien pods and a mod that makes it possible to have 8 people in a squad because I feel that the maps are too big for how many enemies there're. Big fights for the win. Also looking forward to someone modding in LW-esque fatigue. Because you know, force me to fill barracks to the brim with people, XCOM, fucking do it.

Is there a way to farm missions? I'm getting bored of waiting for missions to show up and I really miss raiding UFOs

Easily the most useless skill.
See, Deadeye is useless when you get it because it's a pretty steep aim penalty and would be useless overall if it werent for one change in X2: respec'ing in the AWC you're meant to use lightning hands till you have enough ranks and weapon mods to respec to deadeye and hit stuff. or keep it for gunslinger sharpshooters anyway. Beagle is a good player but he's not as familiar with X2 yet as he were with LW for example. cases in point: deadeye, ignoring psi-ops in his list of things to be nerfed even when they're incredibly strong, the shotgun nerf not being enough to offset them still being more useful than swords for rangers, etcetera

When I got that I ignored swords all together.
It's useless because the bonus it gives is shit at that point in the game, and on top of that you have a chance that the shot will be dodged (unlike many, I'm fine with it, it's positively infuriating). There's very little use for it even if you remove the aim penalty completely. I had it on my alternate colonel sniper who has superior focus, superior scope on his rifle so the penalty is non-issue, but I think I still used it once, to shoot at a Relay.
The current bleed-out mechanic is weird. I feel like it should be based on the amount of damage taken on the final hit, with no overkill damage usually leading to a bleedout.
