Hello has anyone started development on a full WH40K conversion mod yet? No rush ofc, you should be good because Dawn of War 3 is never coming out
not sure how far it'd get because of games workshop being games workshop

DoWIII could be one of them. What would you have in a 40k mod though? Clearly your troops should be some glorious guardsmen, it only makes sense for how easily they can die. You can't really mix xenos up though, everyone hates eachother too much.

Plus battlesuits can replace MECs, and the hammerhead gunship could replace the sectopods.
or just make it a dark-heresy alike basically fits because of the difference in party people, the psyker stuff etc
Well for starters you need to split it all up into arms, legs and torso.
i in fact already did, i just have no idea how to implement it in the game :v: [editline]18th February 2016[/editline] also
or just make it a dark-heresy alike basically fits because of the difference in party people, the psyker stuff etc
Wouldn't Only War work better as a thematic inspiration? Just replace the whole "XCOM's back baby" thing with "Command has sent you and your brigade to destabilize the heretical government, here's a few soldiers and you may requisition better stuff after you've given us proof of your progress".
i need a fatigue mechanic back. i've been using the same 6 soldiers on every mission and my LW roster was so rich and storied by comparison.
Firaxis dev livestream showcasing some mods http://www.twitch.tv/firaxisgames They're using Custom Bandanas and Jake said it's one of his favourites, my life is complete
Have they mentioned any patch/balance changes they intend to make? I really want to play the game again, but I don't want to get hammered into a particular balance and then have it all changed.
probably late but does anyone know the graphics settings that affect the FPS the most? The new patch seems to have made my performance worse somehow
i need a fatigue mechanic back. i've been using the same 6 soldiers on every mission and my LW roster was so rich and storied by comparison.
What difficulty are you playing on? By the time the fatigue on a trooper would be done you SHOULD have a new mission already.
Late into the game and i've trained up a rookie into a biotic god. First mission he ever goes on is that [sp]psionic gate[/sp] one (I probably left it quite late). He gets constantly [sp]jumped by burrowed Chrysallids[/sp], but fortunately tough armour and hellweave see him through with what seemed during the mission like minor injuries. At the end of it, he's gravely wounded and terribly shaken. No wonder considering it was his first mission and he was the only one taking lots of damage.
Devs were pretty cool during the stream. Admitting that the mimic beacon is op and that the mod that changes health into numeric and the stop wasting my time mod are really useful.

So I was looking at stuff and it looks like you can randomize sounds per level, you each level you could possibly have a different gun sound for your dudes
Yaaay, Commander run №2 all done. [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/316746134550560390/C63A010D5B2DAAB97F80E474E4206E79DB4DE60F/[/t] MVPs: Colonel Grenadier Jill "Pill" Daniels, the most awesomely valuable squad member. [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/316746134550571153/B7B2AAD505BE3E2F8D4DC38A983854D3DD70445B/[/t] For the most part, it's only thanks to her I managed to get through the final mission without restarting/save scumming. She's the reason why Repeaters exist. Just before the final mission I swapped superior scope on her cannon for superior Repeater, and boy it paid off. First she exploded one of the two Gatekeepers that came in one pod. With an Overwatch shot, no less. Some time later she managed to land an Overwatch-OHK on an [sp]Avatar[/sp] the second the bastard came out of the [sp]portal[/sp]. Colonel Erich "Loki" Krebs, Psi-Op [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/316746134550580985/E332C50FE99B569B25D3723652D79E8C3DA93680/[/t] The first and best Psi-Operative I made. He dominated and was controlling my team's most valuable distraction - surviving Gatekeeper from that unlucky pod. Also mindfucked (through Insanity) every Archon that came out of the [sp]portals[/sp]. Colonel Ranger Olga "STALKER" Volsky [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/316746134550567961/AD2E24E5ADD8486751592A8C9E89A52A02818F73/[/t] Stealthiest Ranger there ever was, she once skullfucked an ADVENT officer from one step away (pictured above). In the final mission she was responsible for scouting ahead, highlighting targets for a sniper and landing a very unlikely OHK on the last [sp]Avatar[/sp], putting a final nail in the coffin of the Ayy's occupation of Earth. Colonel Grenadier Alexander "Junkyard" Volsky [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/316746134550568444/97C74F7288C47FD753B4A5A6A9E5BE22B7B802E3/[/t] Basically did nothing but fall unconscious at the very start of the mission due to a set of shitty circumstances, forcing me to crawl very slowly though the rest of the mission, as he was carrying all my important grenades. Due to being stabilized, and mission technically not ending by extraction, isn't counted as dead. Wasn't valuable, but everyone else, especially my sniper, aren't even worth mentioning. I was expecting some very shitty things from the final mission as it was kind of overhyped by everyone. But I actually found EU's final mission to be tougher and, eh, more bullshit. Three [sp]Avatars[/sp], properly distracted by mind controlled Gatekeeper, were more of a nuisance than anything else, constantly jumping across the room like complete dickbags they are, forcing me to give chase, wait, and then wait some more. I didn't expect my tactics to be as cheesy as they turned out to be, oh well.
Saving soldiers into the character pool is great. Now I can have my veterans back at my side later
What happens if you skulljack [sp]an Avatar[/sp]
What happens if you skulljack [sp]an Avatar[/sp]
Pretty sure it's impossible? Don't quote me on that tho.
Started an Ironman Legend campaign, was doing pretty good until a fucking MUTON shows up out of nowhere in FUCKING APRIL. On an EASY mission. Goddamn it Firaxis, thanks for the squad wipe.

Great, I missed the fuckers on my playthrough.
My mod's been uploaded! Also, while I remember, what's the deal with the Speaker? [sp]How the hell does he contact us on final mission since he's so dead after the network tower. Is it supposed to mean that it was a body double who got his ass torn apart by the crowd? Because there's no way he could get out of that one alive[/sp]

I like how a lot of the most subscribed XCOM mods are made by FP members. FP representin, u guys rock
Nah, he's a thin man, on an elevated platform, the mob didn't stand a chance.
He's quite short for a thin mint though. Poor guy, he probably was bullied a lot during the invasion.

So I'm about finished ripping dialog from Freeman's Mind for my voice pack. I should have the entire mod finished by tomorrow. I'd like to put a trailer together though when I release the mod. Unfortunately I just beat the game in ironman mode so I don't have any usable saves with all the good tech that is associated with some of Freeman's lines. Can someone send me a save that has an E.X.O or W.A.R suit and a Psi Soldier? I'll credit you in the video.

Come to think of it, there's a whole "hearts and minds" angle left completely unexplored. [sp]Instead of suddenly having every citizen 100% on board with rebellion after a quick video[/sp], there could've been a strategic part of the campaign that could hinder or help xcom based on how the civilians feel about advent. Maybe being forced to decide between raiding a train for supplies or destroying an elder statue for morale and public image could be a real choice. Fingers crossed for the expansion. Or mods.
Am I the only person that really isn't won over by the idea of a Terror From The Deep sequel/lengthy extension to the main game? I'd rather they work on something else like bringing SHIV's/MEC's back and giving us new types of missions like what Dirf is suggesting Not that I think Firaxis wouldn't be able to make TFTP be entertaining have quite a lot of novelty, but I'd prefer it if they were few and far between to make them stand out and contrast a lot with your other missions, not end up as a new metagame
