It had two views and both of them were me.

It was shitty and unfunny and only went for twenty seconds, but it wasn't a copyright claim so who could have even flagged it?
Fuck YouTube

The view counter takes a while to update.

Cause the money:time ratio is good, that's what YT cares about.
The lack of laser just makes me hope there's enough to make up for it. I just don't want to be stunted by gear limitations
Well, you have just as much gear in XCOM 2 as you did in XCOM 1, same number of tiers etc, so you won't be stunted or limited by it in anyway. Mag weapons are functionally laser weapons with a different skin - hell, the projectiles even look a bit Las weapon-ish.
I'm guessing they went with mag just because now there will be a reason for guns to have "recoil" in their animation. Otherwise, I guess they're virtually identical.
Still don't get why they made plasma-tier guns shoot beams though. I liked it being a gooey projectile.

I'm not sure, but I'm certainly coming around to it, since I like the effect. Yeah, it clashes with their old firing form but given they've redesigned other stuff it isn't such a big deal.
It just means that should someone work on a mod to insert Laser into the tech tree (I'd personally say it should be the tier between Mag and Plasma), they're going to have to give a lot of thought to differentiating the projectile - which isn't necessarily a bad thing. We could end up seeing white-blue beams for example, like some of the depictions of Las Weapons in the WH40K universe (Not in the games, but in the lore and books)

I can foresee a mod doing something similar to what Long War did with the weapon tiers, plasma bolts and plasma beams.
Hell, the beam lasers and pulse lasers from Long War could be implemented and actually behave differently, I'd love to see pulse lasers that behave like Star Wars blasters, Without the ISMA training (It's not the Stormtropers aiming anyway, it's the plot armour of main characters)
Or maybe someone will add Laser weapons as a side-grade to Mag weapons. I can certainly see them being slightly more powerful/accurate, while having limitations like no modifications and specialized ammo (GREEN POISONOUS BEAMS).
I wouldn't let them have no modifications, I feel that weapon mods are pretty crucial in XCOM 2. The Ammo I could take or leave. (I imagine there is some flag we can set where Ammo types don't apply to Laser weapons, but I expect that ammo types will apply to Plasma Beams, so we'd be adding too much realism to a universe that is pretty "rule of cool" currently)
IF someone were to make them sidegrades to one another I feel the way that it should be gone about is to give Gauss/Mag weapons inherent Armour Penetration of some fairly low value (Because you're accelerating ferro-magnetic slugs to the speed of death) - Like, ignore one pip of armour with them or something.
Laser weapons on the other hand should have an inherent damage bonus (+1, or something) against unarmoured targets.
So then you'd want to take a mixed loadout despite them being functionally the same tier because they both have different roles. Your Mag weapons are for popping armoured targets, such as machines and bigger aliens, your laser weapons are for dealing with advent mooks, Vipers, pectoids etc. Or anything that has had its armour shredded.
Annual leave booked, can't wait for this game to come out!!

Well he isn't wrong
Not even feeling any hype for XCOM2 even though I have their page liked on FB and I see the countdown decreasing with each day. I'm still worried that the game might not run that well on my laptop but idk.
So, last night, I was gifted X-Com 2 Deluxe Edition by some random person on the internet. I was so happy, so elated, so hyped for getting to play the game. I went to the library to try to preload it...
And then I woke up.
lol I had that happen to me for Guild Wars 2 expansion pack :dog:
I did like lasers because it felt right to be fighting the aliens with them. Like we were finally starting to catch up to them and it felt cool in a retro sci-fi way
I can't wait to see what kinds of total conversion mods get made. I want to see Xcom fantasy where you have to fight off the aliens with swords and magic. [sp]Oh wait, we already do that...[/sp]
Anyone else here can't wait to make a matching-colored army, i.e. no rainbow squads?
Usually I like to distinguish the medics out of the bunch, but all other soldiers follow same color.

In EU I matched armour color to tech level, the dark OD green for kevlar, dark grey for Carapace, and usually white for Titan.

Snipers will be the lightest tan, and grenadiers will be tan with a hint of grey, and specialists will be tan with stripes of tan

I prefer a dark olive or dark blue color scheme on my EU peeps just to give them an army/swat look, but since xcom 2 is about a bunch of freedom fighters I've lost my incentive to give a fuck :v:
I'm planning on making XCOM look more ragtag than before. I used to make people wear armour and colours based on their class. In XCOM 2 I think I'll do more to make people feel unique and more down to Earth.

I haven't, but I agreed with your EU color choices.
I also don't want to spend too much time customizing the color of each rookie and soldier class. Which is why I only make medics different colored, otherwise just blue or black uniforms all around.
But I can't wait to mess around with the customizing, to see what works in unison and what doesn't, while trying to find a way to do it all very quickly on new soldiers that join the group or specialize into a class, to save time played.

And psi operatives will be Cosmic Latte, not only because it sounds cool but it also fits with the rest of the squad
And not just uniforms, but I'm probably going to get into a habit of changing the color of each weapon immediately into some black/darker color, because personally I don't like the look of yellow/bright-colored miniguns etc., which is what we're seeing mostly.

November I believe, my roommate and I were fairly disappointed when it was delayed, but we agree it'll be better because of it.
