Tinkered with my computer a bit, turned off some of Windows features and decided to give the game a try again. Didn't fix shit, of course, maybe 8Gb of RAM is not enough, but I doubt it really. But it's a little bit more bearable now. What isn't bearable though... [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/316746134558256457/FAF08373F3D9D2F6C87AD3AB471DC833A001778B/[/t] Well fuck you too game, that's cheating and you know it. I swear to god there was less of this "patrols actually know your position and active pods know when you're on overwatch" shit on Commander. Now on Legendary it's constant - that's like fifth campaign I'm starting, and every single mission (including Guerilla Ops, first Spokesman mission and Blacksite) I either see all patrols on the map actively trying to evade me, and as a result they all just bunch up somewhere (see screenshot) or they converge on my position and sit all around my guys. What the fuck.
How long have you been in concealment? I try to ambush the first pod I see as soon as possible.
Doesn't dashing make patrols come into your general direction? I read that somewhere. Pretty sure too cause an Andromedon and his buddies once followed my exact path over a roof.
Yeah I forgot to add that dashing seems to have no effect. It's pretty common notion, but I don't think it's accurate. Either that, or AI knows when I'm intentionally trying to bait it by dashing, either way it's very inconsistent. In my experience, there's no correlation between dashing and the probability of a patrol coming after you. As a rule, I only dash my guys in combat, never out of it, safer that way.

What the fuck.
i'm not sure i understand. first of all, that's gatecrasher, right? the pods are always in the vicinity of the statue like that. i have never gotten that close to the statue in concealment without getting visual on both pods. as for overwatch, of course active pods know when you're in overwatch - it works just like when you see an alien pod do it. unless you mean they somehow know when you're in overwatch during concealment, in which case (don't think that's true tbh) it doesn't really matter because it doesn't trigger unless you're revealed.
The dark event that halves the amount of turns you have for timed missions is broken. How the hell do you expect me to capture a vip in 5 turns from the beginning wile dealing with pods? You'd literally have to sprint every turn. You actually can't legit beat them. And I'm bloody using the true concealment mod.
How long have you been in concealment? I try to ambush the first pod I see as soon as possible.
Try is the main part here. I try too, but they tend to just get away from me as soon as I reveal them, leading me to another pod.
i'm not sure i understand. first of all, that's gatecrasher, right? the pods are always in the vicinity of the statue like that. i have never gotten that close to the statue in concealment without getting visual on both pods. as for overwatch, of course active pods know when you're in overwatch - it works just like when you see an alien pod do it. unless you mean they somehow know when you're in overwatch during concealment, in which case (don't think that's true tbh) it doesn't really matter because it doesn't trigger unless you're revealed.
This particular example is the Gatecrasher, yes, but I didn't bother taking a screenshot every time that happens, it's just the latest one. No, they aren't always like that, that's far, far from the first time I go through it. As you can see in my screenshot, I'm still in concealment, and all three pods are in range while not being activated. My guys are sitting where they're sitting because I had to follow a patrol - it was constantly moving out of my range as soon as I set my guys in cover to start an ambush. They led me where I am in the screenshot, got me pinned and just sit there, not moving. I skipped 10 turns, no one moved. They know where I am, but they won't reveal me because programming directly prevents it. Next is an overwatch. What I meant is that it has been a very valid strategy for a long time, if you're deep in shit, back up out of range and set up an overwatch trap. Now, I haven't been able to successfully do it once - they either don't come at all, just sit there waiting right at the border of visibility, or if there's a cover exactly one tile in range, they take it and shoot without activating reaction shots. Interestingly enough, if instead of ordering everyone into overwatch, you hunker down or simply skip a turn - they come instantly. AI is a cheating bastard, it knows that I have a trap even though none of its units are in range to see it. Well I've got no problems with knowing what's happening - that's an AI, of course it knows, there's no way to make it not know it. The problem is that its leaking into its actions, and it shouldn't.
What bonus does staffing an engineer in a psi lab have?
What bonus does staffing an engineer in a psi lab have?
Increases training speed by 50% I think.
What bonus does staffing an engineer in a psi lab have?
Halves the time for psi training. [editline]edit[/editline] :pudge:
Increases training speed by 50% I think.
That's what I thought, thanks. I wish the game gave more info about this kind of thing before I commit to building something, considering the penalties for fucking up are pretty big.
Also this is a thing now https://twitter.com/AdventSpeaker

It'd nice to be able to stay in concealment, throw one to pull a pod over, and kill it. As is now the detection feels kind of all over the place, where sometimes I get detected in concealment easily, and other times when I can't even pull a patrol when I've already gone loud.
;49779282']
Looks like a really good outfit for a Big Boss character.
The true concealment mod added that event.
Wait are you serious? That's stupid as hell.
So is the [sp]Advent relay tower mission[/sp] the one I don't bring my A-Team on?
Wait are you serious? That's stupid as hell.
It's in the mod's description, "New Dark Event" :vs:
So is the [sp]Advent relay tower mission[/sp] the one I don't bring my A-Team on?
You can and if they survive take them to the next stage, however injured units aren't ideal.
So is the [sp]Advent relay tower mission[/sp] the one I don't bring my A-Team on?
I'd recommend not bringing rookies/squaddies but yeah, that's the one.
So there's this guide on how to edit XCOM 2 files, but does anyone know if such a thing exists for XCOM: EW? I tried my hand at it in EW, I made Interceptors $5 as a test edit (something easy to check), but the price still displays as $20 and that amount is deducted when purchasing an Interceptor.
Reposting 'cause I didn't get an answer but also I fucked up and forgot to link "this guide".
You can and if they survive take them to the next stage, however injured units aren't ideal.
What if I have 3 medics, all with the restoration ability, would that work?
What if I have 3 medics, all with the restoration ability, would that work?
Just bring three Psi-Ops with Domination and you're fine.
So this theory is a thing now. Spoilers for The Bureau: Declassified and XCOM2, also EU/EW. Basically, Commander/we are [sp]actually an Ethereal/Elder gone rogue[/sp] Some things check out, some I noticed myself, like [sp]when the Commander's consciousness is transferred into a custom Avatar, we see an Ethereal briefly, even though it makes no sense, Commander's avatar doesn't require one, it's specifically pointed out by Tygan[/sp] [editline]Edited:[/editline] Well soz, didn't see it mentioned before.
Just bring three Psi-Ops with Domination and you're fine.
ugh I only have 2 (with all the abilities btw)

Now with the Freeman voice pack, we need a Crowbar mod to replace the sword.
I wish we had more options when it comes to sleeves.
I'm still surprised at how well the game runs for me - stable 20-30 fps with 40-50 fps in missions on a 755m, been playing for quite some time and I've yet to see some terrible fps crash to single digits
Could anyone help out here? When ever I debug my voicepack I keep getting a red screen whenever I try to preview it. Displays this message: " Could not load body part content: ArchetypeName="<MyPackage>.<XCOMCharVoice name>") the entry for this archetype needs to be fixed in the defaultcontent.ini". Not entirely sure how to fix this, as this is my first time modding a game outside of the source engine. Been following the guide that was made by E3245 (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1v8jU86Jeqn9wms4Pxjj7f5tHPlmli6TSogrbWvc5vUA/mobilebasic?pref=2&pli=1#id.4y6q0l9xlq2r) Screencap of the error.
