It's designed by Aliens what do you expect?
Neat, Totalbiscuit might be making a voice pack for XCOM 2.

Could be neat.
Right now I'm rocking 2 Bandits from STALKER (who, very often, call the Aliens "cykas"), Gordon Freeman from 'Freeman's Mind', Deadpool, and a bunch of clone soldiers. :v:
Has anyone else had stun lancers on the second mission (right after gatecrasher)? I've finished two campaigns and this shit has never happened before. Instant squadwipe.

It's not really ADVENT's style. It is too noisy and ADVENT's font is simplistic as hell.
You could run it along the lines of that one Advent Entertainment Center that was built but never used. That's in the game's lore, there's even a mission in it.
can you go into more detail? don't think I saw that.
Also where does the meat come from
Shen said she hasn't seen any cows since the invasion.

I viewed the whole thing as a nod to soylent green.

Honestly? Total Biscuit is probably one of the last people I want in a voice pack. He's done one for Tribes: Ascend and he voiced a character in Awesomenauts and they were both awful. He doesn't have the voice for voice acting in my opinion.
But, I mean, if one personally likes it, then that's great.
Yeah TB's not a great actor, but regardless of the quality it will be a neat thing for fans to have.

It's in the game's SDK, so that makes it canon.

It's in one of the missions. They didn't really give much detail about it. Just that Advent built an entertainment city center to give humans a short supervised 'vacation' but they only built one and they never did anything with it.
I'm still waiting for my crotch plate mod
For real though we actually do need a crotch plate mod because some of the tier 3 armors leave a space there in the leg section when coupled with other armor sets from mods.

Lab grown or cloned meat. The advertisement in the game's SDK says it's "synthesized on site" so that implies lab grown, possibly using stem cell cultures.
Soylent really isn't feasible to feed the masses of humans under Advent control. In the game's lore, it says that casualties are only in the 'tens of thousands'.
So, basic math.
Assuming for '99,999' casualties (maximum available based on 'tens of thousands') and an average human weight of 75kg (world average is currently 63kg). 15% of a human's mass is bones, so take that away. You get a hair under 6,475,000kg of soylent green. Currently, humans consume 41.9kg of meat per person per year. We'll say that 90% of humanity is under Advent control, and a census estimates a poplation of 8.9bn in 2035 so we'll say 8bn under Advent control. That's 328,000,000,000kg of meat per year eaten. No way you can produce that with soylent. It HAS to be lab grown or cloned.
And sure you could say "well they could be cloning humans to meet that demand" but why? You could clone a cow and it'll be fully grown to 990-1300lbs in 2 years. The Aliens could definitely make this faster and grow them bigger. Meanwhile, a cloned human wouldn't hit their mature weight for 18-20 years and it'd only be like 300 max and by then it's mostly fat. Plus taste difference. People would probably know they were eating humans.
My headcanon is that it's probably some genetically engineered alien super cattle from offworld. No one knows what it is because no one has ever seen it, and if they did they'll probably never want to eat it again because it's a huge meat-slug or something.
There's a meat factory parcel that triggers dialogue by shen or bradford, i don't remember which. It didn't look like a slaughterhouse of any kind, it's definitely lab-grown meat.
But they definitely processed humans and animals for food at some point, the first few years probably. The aliens did that in EU.
I like to think it's an Ameglian Major Cow.
Holy fucking shit.
Heavy Ordinance + Volatile Mix + Incendiary Grenade on a Grenadier is AMAZING
I've been pulling off amazing ambushes with this motherfucker. Not only does the +2 damage make the grenades hit for 5-6 damage on initial explosion, but the radius is bigger AND the afterburn effect also gets the +2 so the afterburn is 4-5 now instead of 2-3.
I don't even have to worry about grouped aliens anymore if I get the drop on them. They'll die before their turn if they have less than 9 health.
Also it's really fun watching the new fire mechanics. They did a good job on making it spread and shit. I delayed evacuating from one mission just to watch if an entire building would burn down from two structural fires (it did)
I only recently found out that gas grenades make enemies stands still until the gas goes away, making them easy targets to pick off. The 3 gas damage is a nice touch as well.

That sounds incredibly useful :v

I forgot, does the gas grenade grant any other debuffs? I think I remember something about reduced aim/movement but I might be misremembering since I never used it again after getting dual acid ones.

Doesn't do that for me. Every time I use it then run out of the gas cloud on their turn.
What about an ADVENT Burger place?
McElder's or something
Rebuild the old burger joint map.
Actually I'd love to see the old EU maps remade for XCOM 2.

oh man why has no one thought of this. Old xcom maps re-made with xcom 2 assets.

Yeah they get less aim and movement. It's the same deal is the viper gas effect.

No? Sounds like you got a weird AI glitch, they always move out of it when I use gas.
No? Sounds like you got a weird AI glitch, they always move out of it when I use gas.
wait really? I think they detect the gas as an un-movable area, so they just stay still for me.
Has happened with multiple game loads. odd.

Eh, I thought the awesomenauts one was okay. Better then Jesse's oddly enough.
Oh man I spent like 3 days butchering together this, but I finally got it working. And all I gotta say is that, while Advent might have a Full House, I just got a Royal...
