oh man why has no one thought of this. Old xcom maps re-made with xcom 2 assets.
I can maybe look into it, I have the tools downloaded, I just have to figure out how to make a map I guess.
First time ever facing off against a Sectopod just now. Freaked out because "That's a fucking tank what the fuck am I going to do" Disabled it for 2 turns with my tech specialist, then just wore it down. Everything went better than expected. Although I REALLY want to take control of one and just march it through the map demolishing aliens with it that sounds so fucking fun.

Bring some bluescreen rounds on your sniper next time. Makes it easier to hack, and if you fail it, the extra damage is really useful.
All the sectopods I've encountered have been practically harmless because I can just Stasis spam them to death.

I'd leave them behind in a highly defensible position on overwatch every turn and just let the sectopod fuck shit up. That way the enemy is focused on shooting the sectopod (making it soft) and my soldiers are unharmed. Plus when it turns around and barrels towards me, it gets 6 overwatch shots in the face. [editline]26th February 2016[/editline] FLASHBANG GRENADES STOP CODEXES FROM CLONING WHEN THEY RECEIVE DAMAGE Holy shit I don't know if anyone else knew this but this is a fucking game changer for me I will never not start an engagement with a codex without a flashbang grenade now.

Aren't those Spartan helmets?
Aren't those Spartan helmets?
Have you played halo odst?
Have you played halo odst?
Yeah like 7 years ago when it came out.
Is anyone making Metal Gear Rising style armors?

I too would like for my troops to be fucking invincible.
Metal Gear Rising ya say.
Aren't those Spartan helmets?
The helmets on the first two are ODST standard, but there were a few other models like the Recon on the right.
Yeah like 7 years ago when it came out.
Well that's the only helmets odsts wore. Also for Christ sake xcom, I almost spat out my drink when this just showed up outta nowhere. [t]http://i.imgur.com/tovHhkg.jpg[/t] "HEY CAPTAIN, LOOK WHAT I CAN DO!"

[t]http://i.imgur.com/tovHhkg.jpg[/t] "HEY CAPTAIN, LOOK WHAT I CAN DO!"
This coupled with how they actually behave in game (running headlong into overwatching soldiers, running thru fire/acid/poison, etc) just to use their sword makes me believe that Advent Officers must fucking hate Stunlancers. "Oh my fucking god Steve could you just use your rifle like the rest of us?" 'But I have a sword!' "It's meant for crowd control you dumb fuck not these heavily armed and armored resistance fighters" Then he runs off and uses his sword anyway and gets killed and the Advent Officer just buries his face in his hands and mumbles something about not being paid enough to deal with this shit.
Are armour camo patterns just one texture repeatedly applied to an armour or not? It'd be cool if you could have very specific armour pattern lines, like for instance to make Republic Commando dudes you'd have an armour pattern that has thick colour lines on very specific spots and stuff
Aren't those Spartan helmets?
Helmets on the left are ODST standard-issue with different user configs depending on role. Helmet to the right is the RECON helmet which was used by both Spartans, ONI special forces and ONI operatives (see: Dare from Halo 3 ODST). ADVENT armour uses mirrored textures which causes the pattern to split into a mirrored texture covering the left and right sides of the body. To achieve what you are talking about you'd need to alter the texture setup so that it all becomed mirrored. Or, since we're talking about clone troopers, you could just skip using patterns.
Neat, Totalbiscuit might be making a voice pack for XCOM 2.
So if I use this will I get to hear my soldiers complain about the lack of FOV sliders and proper optimization in the game? That would be truly 4th wall breaking.
they're so loaded up on drugs and combat stimulants that they probably can't even hear the officers giving them orders
"Steve, take cover behind that boulder and lay down some covering fire so our soldiers can advance." 'I'M GONNA STAB THEM WITH MY MOTHERFUCKING SWORD WHEEEE' "God damn it Steve this is why the Elders don't love you" 'CAN'T HEAR YOU' Also at this point I've realized my main team doesn't wholly understand the concept of "guerrilla" combat, as their policy tends to be sort of... scorched earth. On a kill/capture VIP mission. It's gone as such: (Gunslinger Sniper, Grenadier, Medic Specialist, Tech Specialist, Max Level Psi Operative) Encountered first group: Advanced Officer, Advanced Trooper, Shieldbearer Mode of Engagement: Firebomb ambush. Entire top story of a 3 story highrise set on fire, all but the Advanced Officer killed, AO left at 1HP Second Group: Codex, Two Sectoids, and VIP Mode of Engagement: Flashbang Grenade, Gungslinger sniper "Faceoff", kills the previous AO, the VIP (whoops), the first Sectoid, and severely wounds the second sectoid and the Codex. Codex skulljacked by tech specialist. Avatar spawns. The middle of the top floor of the main building has burned out and set the 2nd floor on fire. Third Group: Avatar, Archon, Advanced Officer, Shieldbearer Mode of Engagement: Avatar mind controls tech specialist, entire team minus sniper engages and kills Avatar. Sniper uses lightning hands to kill the Archon w/ a pistol shot then a rifle shot. Tech Specialist runs for cover once mind control has worn off. 2nd turn of engagement, AO and SB group up around a car and take potshots that miss. Grenadier lobs 2nd incendiary grenade at car, setting AO/SB/car on fire. Both killed by other soldiers. Rest go on overwatch. 2nd floor of building burns down, sets 1st floor on fire. Fourth Group: AO, AT, SB Mode of Engagement: Grenadier in W.A.R. suit fires rocket at the group. It explodes. Car explodes. Fire from car spreads to side of bottom of building which until now has not been on fire. Psi Operative lances AO and SB into dust. Tech Specialist kills AT with plasma rifle shot. Back half of the building my entire group is on burns down. Group Evacs from Advent City Cut to the tallest building in the city on fire and crumbling, 2 car wrecks on fire, destroyed pillars, gardens, and fountains, corpses everywhere, and 2 fires raging out of control on the ground. VIP I probably should have captured is dead (whoops), a few civilians got caught in the crossfire. Mission Success! 10 points to Humanity. [sp]There's a reason this is "slav squad"[/sp]

Now I'm super confused. It was on veteran but it says the default is 28 health and 4 armor. [editline]26th February 2016[/editline] I think its a graphical glitch for the lancer since it says low cover.
Ok jesus christ I'm officially renaming this squad "Alpha Group", and to any of you who get the reference you can just imagine the hilarious brutality that's about to come. Squad is now 6 in size. Roster includes: Squad Leader - Colonel Artyom 'Snake' Pavlov (Assault) -W.A.R. suit, Skulljack, Rocket Launcher Medical Specialist - Colonel Denis 'Rainman' Ignatyev (Battle Medic) -Medikit, Frag Grenade Tech Specialist - Major Gordon "Red" Freeman (Combat Hacker) -Medikit, Talon Rounds Grenadier - Major Emma "Cowgirl" O'Connor (Demolitions Expert) -W.A.R. suit Flashbang, Rocket Launcher, Incendiary Grenade x2 Sharpshooter - Captain Wade "Deadpool" Wilson (Gunslinger) -Dragon Rounds, Gas Grenade Psi Operative - Magus Natascha "Omega" Ilychkov -Null Lance, Void Rift, Fuse, Soulfire, Insanity Some highlights from the current mission: -Set off an incendiary grenade on 2 MECs and an Archon, the attack pulled a Codex and an Advanced Officer. Everything died during the Ambush to overwatches. -Opened up a UFO to find 4 sectoids and 2 archons, flashbanged the entire group, shot a rocket into one side and killed 2 sectoids and an archon, used void rift to kill another sectoid, injure the 4th and the 2nd archon, who then panicked and took a shot at the 4th sectoid. [editline]26th February 2016[/editline] The UFO is now on fire.
