Hmm, has anyone found a way to edit the music in XCOM 2?
Hmm, has anyone found a way to edit the music in XCOM 2?
I wish. I'll probably look into it when I'm done with the voicepacks.
As much as I love how the modding's taken off, I can't help but feel dread once more major guides start popping up for it and we'll start getting a slew of meme mods bloating the workshop like Shrek Mutons or something similar and stupid.
You might be too late to complain about meme mods, bud
Okay so, dear Facepunch, I need your help. While I am getting progress with doing that skill overhaul thing I showed off on a few occasions, I am not creative when it comes to coming up with perks, so if any of you have any ideas, please submit them here so I can try and start filing in the perk trees. It's ironic how it's harder for me to come up with skills than to implement them in-game.
I missed the information about the perks so what's going on?
There's already more than enough meme and other nonsensical items

It's something I started working on a week or so ago:
So after about 4-5 days of UI and Pain, I finally got this stuff in-game and on the proper place:
[t]http://4o3.nl/2016028e8b1b66.png[/t]
Still a WIP, essentially the skill tree will start from the middle, and every time you get a promotion you can choose any skill that is already connected to an acquired one. Currently the skills and icons are filler, but you get the idea.

Hmm, has anyone found a way to edit the music in XCOM 2?
I almost wish for a community music pack (Remixes and original, must be related to XCOM) However I don't think I can coordinate it.

Are the trees still Class Specific?

If you don't get enough ideas you can always make some perks have more ranks that gives more damage/reduces cooldown or something like that. Not as fun, but still useful. Anyway, this is one of the mods i'm expecting more because it will truly improve the replay value of the game.

I was kinda interested to put Timothy Seals work of redoing MW2's soundtrack into the game.
Lol, glad I'm not doing Ironman. Managed to do a perfect run on the forge facility and forgot to bring the body.
I can just imagine your guys get back to the Avenger and they're all smiles and high fives and "fuck yeah we did it suck on that alien scum" and Bradford, the Commander, Tygan, and Shen are all standing there and are like "what the ever loving fuck, you retards, you forgot THE ONLY MISSION OBJECTIVE"
As far as I am aware, Slingshot never happened and XCOM was destroyed before any meaningful research could be made, so I'd say it all happened before the Alien Base.
I thought the story was that the first invasion that XCOM repelled was just a scouting party or some shit and the real invasion came and used tact to take over the world by manipulating world leaders?
Cause, in the end mission (SPOILERS)
[sp]When you're fighting and the Ethereals are talking to you, they make mention of the war you fought in XCOM: EU/EW and about how the first invasion was a 'test' that they expected humanity to fail, but were surprised when they didn't (XCOM victory) and then even mentioned how "You defeated them once before" (the unknown enemy that drives the aliens to do what they do) referencing the last mission where your Psionic Soldier sacrifices him or her self to save Earth.[/sp]
Where exactly are you people finding these boosts to hacking? I've found other swanky boosts in the ADVENT lampposts like full action refunds, but never any permanent hacking increase. Even bluescreen'd I've never gotten more than 30% at actually controlling a Sectopod.
EDIT:
Or are the Sectopod hackers savescumming? :v:
My hackers ended up with like 103 and 125 score each near the end of the game. Not sure how. I guess random rewards.
There's no point in savescumming when hacking. You'll always get the same outcome, just different results.
i.e. if you hit an enemy with a 75% chance shot, every time you redo the turn you will always hit as long as you don't change any variables (such as moving the soldier). You'll also get the same damage rolls, but different crit rolls every time.
Same goes with hacking. If you fail once, you'll fail every time you reset unless you change a variable. It'll vary a bit, but it'll always fail.

Have you thought about bringing some old perks back or looking at some of the ones from Long War?
[editline]29th February 2016[/editline]
I've also personally felt that suppression is a great filler perk across classes
[editline]29th February 2016[/editline]
Perks I'm really missing: Flush, Low Profile (Grants full cover in low cover), Close Combat Specialist and Sprinter
I will be buying XCOM 2 later today. Is there anything I should know before I start playing, or should I go in as blind as I can at this point?
That was rough

I would have gotten everyone out alive if it wasn't for stun lancers.
More blood for the blood king i guess

Yes, still class specific.

I'm trying to make it so each class has unique perks, instead of sharing them across the board. I've already implemented Flush as I showed it off a few days ago, Low Profile is on my list, CCS I'm not sure, perhaps, and Sprinter is just a Mobility boost, it's more or less a PCS in XCOM 2.
Cpnbubs is a hat making machine, he should try some TF2 stuff and get rich.
Yes, still class specific.

i'm usually checking the thread at work so i didn't see anything about flush, that's awesome. i take your point about sprinter, for some reason i almost never get PCS drops and i'm positive i've never got a mobility one. if i can make a case for CCS i'd say that, by sheer virtue of mutons having a melee ability, it has significantly more impact in 2 than before and is therefore a good choice.
whenever i next have a good sit-down with the game i'll keep perk ideas in mind
I just rage-quit out of EW's Base Assault. The game spawned all but one of my soldiers with Ballistic Weapons, Kevlar, and no Equipment. Then it sends in Cryssalids, Cyberdisks, and half a dozen Mutons. How the fuck is that supposed to be winnable?
Had no medical supplies either, so I couldn't even treat any of the inevitable wounded.
[editline]1st March 2016[/editline]
It wouldn't be so bad if it started you with only Security Guards, and then gave you your own properly equipped troops later on. At least then you don't have to worry about losing your elite units because ranks and skills can't replace alloys and lasers.
On that note, I should be going to bed anyway. I'll try it again tomorrow, in the mean time I'll take tips. Especially if there's any 'trick' to making it give you the troops you actually have dressed for battle.

equipment in the base defense isn't randomized, it's whatever they were equipped them with when the mission triggered
[editline]1st March 2016[/editline]
ninja'd
If its not Ironman, load back to before the base assault. Go into the barracks and manually equip your top 6 guys with all of the equipment they need. The game spawns your top 6 guys in the barracks with whatever they had equipped at the time.
Didn't expect the answer before I even finished my edit. Thanks for the advice, I'll try it tomorrow. I don't remember if my save was before or after my last abduction, so I might have to replay that mission. Ah well.
and merge

I know it isn't, but if you actually buy enough armour and weapons for every soldier you own, you'll never have money for anything else. I strongly prefer XCOM 2's system in that regard, wish there was a mod for it, it's only an inconvenience having to switch armours around and save-scum to be properly prepared for Base Assault.
Also the cinematic for the Base Assault is awesome, it feels like a huge shame that Firaxis didn't have XCOM lose on that instead, since the chaos in the XCOM 2 flashback fits perfectly with the chaos in EW's Base Assault intro.

How about instead of Sprinter, have some perks for Ranger that buffs them the more they are targeted? Specifically thinking Extra Defense (to be the best evasive asshole) or even Mobility (oh you cheeky fuck, I am gonna wreck you right now, you hear), increase on turns after being shot at.
