You're releasing this with a voice pack right?
of course
since the hl1 grunt lines are just tons of separate voice files i'm up for taking suggestions on lines(if they're possible to do with the clips)
Are you only doing the original models or will you do the HD versions too?
the hd models are gross
I'll fight you IRL over that but okay, point taken.
no but really i get you
i just wanna do the hl1 ones since the low res ness is amusing to me

I think you actually managed to make them look worse. It's brilliant.
Soon the ADVENT will learn to fear the low-poly rage and tactical ingenuity of the HL1 HECU.
YORE DED ADVENT
No joke but I'd love an actual HECU armor pack. Doesn't Black Mesa have any meshes anyone could use? Shit would look rad.
Voice pack too, radio filtered & tactical. Just down my alley.
The BMS HECU would work, especially considering that their horrible heads would be replaced by the XCOM 2 ones.

There should be a sentences.txt in the valve/sound folder that has all of the things that the hgrunts say.

i know, but i wanna splice some lines together as well
I'd be neat if they replaced advent as well. Dress your dudes as the black mesa team and take them out.
And the alien grunts could be mutons.
Full half life conversion mod when.

There's multiple concepts for a half-life conversion that could work really well with Xcom mechanics tbh. Post black-mesa incident "Oh my god the universe is shitting aliens everywhere help" mod. Rebels vs Combine (obviously) or even Combine vs Rebels (the difference being you play as the combine).
Hey, I have two questions which I can't seem to find answers for on any wikis. Do Black Markets stick around permanently once discovered, or do they pack up and relocate after a certain period of time, necessitating the player searching them out again?
Also, if a supply raid mission pops up for the player to complete, is the penalty for ignoring it/failing it losing contact with the region the mission occurred in? Because I think that happened once for me, but I have no idea if it always happens and I'd like to know for sure.
Low poly squad attack. The high res aliens will come to fear the 90s quality models.
And I made a part 2 to that team soul edge thing. This one went better then expected.
Fuck me. I just lost four of my best men to a 2 codex and Andromedon pod. Why the hell is 2 codexes considered a fair challenge? When the mission difficulty says "moderate", I tend to think "Okay, I can swap in 2 lower levels to get them up a bit". When only them 2 survive because the codexes spawned next to an exploded car so I had 4 to deal with, I start to wonder if the game just hates me. At least I have two specialists.
Codexes become easy mode if you have flash bangs or EMP grenades. Or anything else that stuns or disorients them. If they're disoriented, they cannot/will not do the 'clone on damage' thing at all.
Do Black Markets stick around permanently once discovered
yes
they never move, don't worry
Also, if a supply raid mission pops up for the player to complete, is the penalty for ignoring it/failing it losing contact with the region the mission occurred in?
i know you lose contact with a region when you lose retaliation missions which is the equivalent of terror missions from EU anyway
never lost a supply one so can't speak about it but i think you just lose resources?

People here don't seem to have a high opinion on bluescreen rounds but personally I give them to my non-sharpshooter soldiers with the highest aim (so specs and rangers) so they can reliably one shot them before they clone, meaning I don't even need to carry around flashbangs for them. In the late game it also means you get that extra edge against Sectopods.
Holy shit, [sp]I skulljacked a 4HP Codex and the Avatar spawned with half health. Made it way easier to deal with.[/sp]

Pretty sure it's scripted to happen like that. They make comments about it [sp]not being completed yet[/sp]

[sp]Oh, I remember it being full health last time I did that.[/sp]
4 hours into the game and I haven't even actually played it yet.
I'm having too much fun making boatloads of custom soldiers
My favorite creation so far:

Just finished the campaign.
[sp] That was just... wow. Firaxis did a great job with XCOM 2. I'm not one to speak for gameplay mechanics, but they were solid at worst. I love how they're starting to set up lore around the series, with Vahlen missing, the aliens in shambles, one possibly two looming threats to humanity, the experimentation with multiple dimensions (Volunteer, anyone?) and the characters. I'm just blown away by the care they've taken creating the story, though I would like to see them try a bit harder on changing the gameplay next time around. If it's underwater, maybe hex tiles? The possibilities are staggering. [/sp]

[sp]There's a lot of interesting stuff for sure. I don't think I'd be down for Hex Tiles though, the game already works so well on it's square grid, and if it ain't broke why fix it[/sp]

Quick question, if and when you release the voice packs, would you mind making two variants? One can have funny lines like "GRENADE IN YOUR ASS" but I'd also appreciate a light one with just tactical stuff like in base HL1.
