XCOM V4: "Svinnik - Why is Shen's daughter asian, when Shen is black?"

For a game so hyped on modding it seems pretty fucking dumb to make it so you can't actually turn any of them off if you need to
Why can't you just toggle them off???

What do you mean? Are you referring to the launcher not having a "disable all" or "enable all" button?
Anyone know a mod to add civilian clothes? Other than the "all armor options" one because it adds fucking 200 torsos with my prop mods.
I found one btw, too bad it hasn't fixed the memory issue.

You can't disable a mod if you already had it on your save, you are stuck with it forever if you are a few saves in and don't want to go back
Why can't you just turn it off and it goes away like any other game, the game won't even let you load your save if it detects you turned one of them off

It even lets you re-sync your save to whatever mods you currently have installed.
What game lets you just uninstall mods without issue? I've uninstalled cosmetic mods and my saves have worked fine, the soldiers just lost their cosmetics. If you change gameplay systems of course the game is going to want you to have the systems it's trying to reference for you save.
Jesus christ, i know the game is really resourceful when it comes to throwing out a new bug to a player, but sometimes it just decides to make a combo. So yesterday i caught two glitches in one of those advent vip extraction missions that just made it impossible to complete. It all started with Bradford repeating his phrases over and over again for some reason, and considering this bastard pauses the game until he's finished with his bullshit, i had to save-load every time he decided it's time to push another meaningless monologue. But the true shit was still awaiting at the extraction point. When i made it there, i just found out that the extraction icon won't work at all. It was there, but it was disabled just like when some tile blocks you from above.
What the hell, really. I mean, i can deal with the game wasting my time on endless unskippable dialogues and bugs and crashes and dumb randomization because i like the gameplay and the storyline, but sometimes it just looks like the devs implemented some kind of a bug generator which creates more and more irritating glitches as you proceed through your run.
Ok, I figured out model extraction process for XCOM 2. Since the internet has poor documentation for this, here's a short guide.
Model Extraction & Conversion Process for XCOM 2/Unreal Engine Games (UDK):
UPK -> PSK
Models, textures, and animations are bundled in UPK files. You can unbundle these files using the UModel tool by Gildor.
Use UModel to locate the model(s) you wish to extract. Use "Tools > Export Current Object". In the UmodelExport folder you should see new folders for each game object you exported. Look inside to find the PSK file(s) - those are the meshes.

PSK Import
The next step is to import the PSK into a 3D modelling program. Most of the guides online recommend using 3DS Max for this step but Autodesk only offers a free version of this to students and the process to obtain it even if you qualify is more hassle than it's worth.
Blender can be downloaded and installed in just a few clicks - no logins, no licenses. It has a native PSK import script available. Install the script through "File > User Preferences > Add-ons". Use the search bar in this tab with the keyword "psk". Click the checkbox to activate the plugin. Now when you go to "File > Import" you should see the option to import PSK files. The rest should be fairly self explanatory.

Note
Obviously I've glazed over a few details and there are additional steps needed if you intend to preserve the textures and animations along with the models. I only needed the static mesh; if anyone else wants to chime in with more details/suggestions I can update this post.
Are you aware you can just export assets directly from the SDK? It supports a dozen formats.
I thought that they could Build, then rebuild the entire project to fix the bloated shadercache?
can confirm that this works

after the latest patch so many mods broke

Understandable, but I'm glad the patch is out anyway since it fixed a lot of issues.

After the hotfix I couldn't even load the game without mods, so this patch has turned the game back into something i can actually play at all.
I wish there were folders for different mods when you're picking props.
for instance, instead of having 179 different arms to choose from in one big ugly list, just have the default selection, and then an "Advent Armor Mod" folder with all of the arms that mod adds within it.

Mod to help other mods when?
Also updated my mod again, reduced the file size a bit, but that's about it. Probably not going to touch it for a couple of days now, had enough of 'aeiou' and 'ebrbrbrbr' editing in Audacity and fiddling in UDK.
Ugh, just had a squadwipe because I got spotted by a pod that was slightly out of my vision. There goes that campaign.

Don't give up on your campaign. Recover or go down fighting.

My squad was wiped in 3 turns because of mass panics and Faceless blowing up a car behind which two of my soldiers were hiding.
I'm not trusting any vehicle anymore and all civilians will be approached with a gun pointed at them.
Is Ranger melee not that great at higher difficulties? It feels like hit chance is smaller and damage is not worth the risk, because I can't kill Sectoid with one melee attack anymore, my soldiers missed those attacks more often than not and then just, you know, died.

No! Delete your hard drive! Burn your computer! Leave no evidence!

Quit, deleted XCOM, put hard drive through a trash compactor, burnt the trash compactor, sent the trash compactor to Lithuania, hired mercenaries to explode the trash compactor's ashes.

The sword is useless in vanilla IMO. I run Accurate Swords, which turns them into a risky guaranteed damage and anti-sectoid tool.
i've never even tried a melee ranger

Has anyone else noticed that most of their soldiers have red eyes by default?

Should I get XCOM 2 now or wait for a sale and try to get XCOM 2 + Reinforcement Pack?
Should I get XCOM 2 now or wait for a sale and try to get XCOM 2 + Reinforcement Pack?
I doubt the Reinforcement Pack will go on sale until all the dlc is out.

wait weren't you complaining about the gameplay earlier?

If you mean the 100% hit chance thing, yes. I don't need to have the game to know that being cheated out of a 100% chance should not be a possibility. I've played Enemy Unknown several times and I'm currently doing Enemy Within the first time. Missing a 100% shot isn't possible there, or at least, I have yet to experience it.
afaik in practice the only enemies that can dodge shots are vipers and archons and it just feels like part of their enemy profile, if you know what i mean. wasn't really a huge deal
[editline]11th March 2016[/editline]
plus it works (worked?) in your favor with PCS bonuses

That was just patched out, 100% shots (and shots from concealment) can't be dodged.

Some of the elite ADVENT units can also dodge.
