Yeah I think I just fucked up my build order. Should have rushed squad size on the higher difficulty.
Is suppression working for anyone else? Enemies I suppress still get to run away with no reaction fire.
Yeah. I brought a rookie along on a VIP extract mission. We spawned on the roof of a three story building overlooking a courtyard. First round we kill two guys and I ignore melee guy cause "lol what can he do, he's a mile away". He runs across the entire courtyard, climbs up the side of the 3 story building and one shot kills the rookie.
My own personal stunlancer bullshit story had one of them hide until my entire squad moved up after killing the rest of its group, it then survived a turn of shooting behind hard cover after doing the anti-overwatch one step, ran across the map and one-shot killed one of my snipers with a 5 damage crit The Stunlancer should do 2 damage standard and 3 on a crit, or have a decent chance of missing. Its gimmick is already that it stuns what it doesn't kill for a turn, having it be able to run a marathon and then have a near guaranteed chance of one-shot killing a guy is just dumb
Is it just me or are base defenses the most unfun thing ever ? i spent like 40 minutes killing wave after wave, to the point that the game started to break and when i got to the EMP, the game crashed. It's literally reinforcement after reinforcement, it's like the game thinks i can reliably wish away those advent lancers in less than a turn.
Glad I'm not the only one who's struggling with those stunlancer assholes. One of them just killed a soldier through the roof of a train with the melee attack, and another beat a soldier unconscious without somehow triggering the overwatch on the soldier.
So has anyone made a soldier with the whole "Navy Seals trained in Gorilla Warfare yadda yadda" quote as their biography?
Yeah this shooting though walls thing is absolute bullshit. This is not acceptable for a release. Hope they patch this as soon as possible. Not touching ironman mode with a bug like that. I had someone die on top of the church roof from an enemy INSIDE the church, twice, because apparently fireaxis can't handle destructive environments in their engine without removing sight of the whole building I mean come the fuck on.

The launcher crash is real.
Okay, all I'm getting when I boot up the game is a blank blackscreen, and when I hop onto Task Manager it tells me that XCOM 2 isn't responding. Anyone got any ideas on what the fuck to do because I've tried validating the game files and that's done jack doodle.
I must admit, the character creator feels a bit lacking, seeing as the last time I fiddled around with character creation was [sp]AA2[/sp]
So does anyone know who the veteran soldier is? Or where they are?
Stunlancers are friggin pushovers on Veteran. They can barely hit their targets and if they do, they stun them for the rest of ADVENT's turn. Vipers are more annoying cause they keep dragging my troops into VERY bad spots
On the first mission the pod of 3 advent spawned behind me, like 5 tiles away on the same roof.
Sorry if I'm late, but what the fuck is wrong with the resolution. The MAX it's set to is fucking 1600x900 on my 1440p monitor.

Make sure to backup the file before making any changes: Go to C:\Users\your-username\Documents\My Games\XCOM2\XComGame\Config Open XComEngine.ini in Notepad. Look for lines containing ResX and ResY. Change them to whatever you like (X if horizontal, Y is vertical). Save and close the file.
Also holy shit this optimization is godawful. I'm running sli'd 970s, 16 gigs of ram, and I get sub-60 fps on anything but the lowest setting
This game is really buggy. I like it and all, but it's really annoying when there's invisible enemies that I can target. No enemies at all anywhere, but there's still a target in the middle of the woods. I go up to it, nothing there. I shoot at it, right next to me, and bam, a dead ADVENT Trooper appears out of nowhere. Also sentries being able to see you through entire buildings, as well as you being able to see them through the entire building. :l
Now that the game is finally downloaded I can pla- preorder DLC has to download great

Welp. that's my first wipe! Game's a lot tougher than EU/EW that's for damn sure.
It is really fun when you get a mission where you cant avoid activating 1 advent pod and one pod with an archon and muton. And where it activates THROUGH THE FUCKING WALL SO YOU DIDNT EVEN HAVE DIRECT LINE OF SIGHT. also fuck stunlancers, nerfed them so they are slow and have less hp. It is like the chryssalid expect you know, those could not move 2 action points AND attack. and codexs can be shits with that teleport move.

In terms of what file and such.
The through the wall shit isn't that bad, I actually seem to be benefiting from making some nigh impossible shots from that shit. What's really bullshit are Stun lancers and how weak Vipers are. I see a viper. Set up a trap. Instantly murder it. 3 Stun lancers run out, murdered 3 of my guys instantly with crits.
Oh man the multiplayer balance is hysterically silly 200 points for a 3 health Advent Trooper with a mag rifle 400 points for a 12 health Advent Officer with a mag rifle, frag grenade, mark target ability, and better stats (75 aim) 800 points for a 6 health Advent Shield Bearer with mag rifle and AOE shield effect (worse stats than officer) You get around 10k points in your average match split over 6 guys for reference
May I asked how you nerfed them? In terms of what file and such.
go to Steam\steamapps\common\XCOM 2\XComGame\Config. DefaultGameData_CharacterStats is the one for the stats, search for AdvStunLancer and you get a list of variables regarding them. The numbers are for difficulty. I do believe that later on they change to an better version. Thank you. :v:
Jesus fucking christ the Geoscape and ant farm run like total fuck now, it's unbearable doing anything between missions. So instead, character pool! [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/314492958153449659/E74991FA71C28FBC97E2DBE1A7E49BD879CBB122/[/t]

So I don't know what I did, but I think if you ALT-TAB out of the game enough times it disables the AI. Just did an asset recovery mission and the AI would just sit there, even newly discovered pods would just stand there. Could someone try to replicate this?
