Okay, what the fuck is this bullshit?

First time using Scanning Protocol. Are these all Faceless?
Man the plasma weapons look so nice in this one. I especially like the beams they shoot. They actually pack a punch unlike the EU/EW laser weapons which felt super flaccid.

No, that's a bug. If they were faceless you would know.

I'm having too much fun in the character pool, too bad I'm mostly using it because the Avenger is nigh impossible to navigate because of the ridiculous freezing and framedrops
I popped 1 HP off of the lancers to see if it would make them less infuriating. As it stands, I have to focus them, because if they are alive congrats you just lost a soldier. So not having to spend 3 soldiers' turns killing one of them should feel better.
If its too easy I think I'll just reload the files. I like this modularity.

There is no need to panic.
Everything is fine.
Time for your squaddies to earn their paychecks.
Faceoff (sharpshooter perk) is fucking awesome. Killed 5 guys in one turn.
...
Guardian (specialist perk) is another amazing one, I just hosed down an entire pod with one overwatch.
I've got to say the biggest change I like is the environmental destruction, especially when the advent lands 3 MECs on a 2rd story roof at once and they all go into overwatch.
Well, it took literally all day (it's now 2AM) but I published my first Workshop mod.
It removes the AP cost from hacking objects in close proximity (like objectives), which should make it less infuriating when you end up sitting next to an objective you need to hack on the last turn before mission failure, and you don't have any AP left.
Please feel free to try it and let me know if it works for you - I haven't been able to test it a lot but it should. Make sure you back up your saves, because Firaxis decided to make it so that you can't ever load a savegame that had a mod enabled that's since been disabled.

You are a god damn hero
Oh boy I forgot about silly overwatch shooting at mind controlled teammates even though they also have a clear line of site on the sectoid that's mind controlling. I'm loading a save there, I don't even care.

I had the same problem with officers when trying to skulljack one, everyone would fire at the officer we need to keep alive and not the stunlancer that's about to wreck the ranger.

I would have just called him Jesse "Sexual Tyrannosaurus" Ventura.
rate my character

I don't think that fits.
It would be nice if you could designate targets that your squad should not take overwatch shots at.

Are you gonna write a tutorial over how you did this, since you mentioned that the SDK doesn't come with any documentation?
It would come in handy whenever I start making the Jagged Alliance 2 Mercs voicepack.
I just beat the first blacksite and although I haven't had anyone die outside the tutorial, Most of my best are shaken up from all the wounds they've received. My soldiers are all extremely prone to panicking, I'm lucky the pectoids don't try to mind control them

Check the SDK folder itself for Documentation, there's a shitload of stuff in there and even a powerpoint thing for a programming crash course. If you don't have anything to open it with (why don't you) you can just upload it to Google Drive and check it out.
That said I don't know if it's any help, haven't checked it out myself. I've been busy trying to get a better grip of the mapping system. This pdf file is fucking long.

Invest in a couple of mindshields, you won't regret it
First blacksite mission, decided to blow a hole in the wall to get to evac faster and ran into a pair of sneks and an archon. Sneks may be terrible at grabbing but their poison cloud sucks, and I noticed that archons have evasion.
That's all irrelevent however for I have shotguns and they don't. Seriously shotguns are more effective than they were in LW.

Pistols
are
the
shit
Like seriously they're my favourite weapons to use. They look and feel just really good and seem to hit more accurately than anything else in my arsenal. I should just send a sky ranger filled with pistols and let them sort out ADVENT; it'd honestly probably accomplish more than some of my troops would.
Yo andromedons are fucking cool/scary as balls.
Fucker just plowed through one of my best soldiers like it was nothing.
i need complete camera control, these environments are so fuckin rad
Stun Lancers are the new Thimints. Message brought to you by someone who beat the game but almost lost the final mission due to a 15 damage stuncrit god damn heatseeking stunlancers.
Whelp. 5 months in-game time and I just found out that Predator armor is one of those research and everyone gets it things. I never got it because it cost so much, and now I know why. Game just got 10x easier.
What determines whether a soldier is wounded or gravely wounded? I figured it would have been based on how much damage they took, but one of my soldiers who took 1 point of damage came back gravely wounded.

So back in EW Long War I had a soldier. She never ever panicked even before getting steadfast. She always landed the most important shots and gradually rose to become the Field Commander. I made her into one of the "Old War survivors" from the Resistance preorder bonus. I took the time to style her into a replica of her EW LW incarnation and right as I'm shit-talking Vipers, one kills her via poison (an archon was involved as well but the dead viper stole the kill with poison). Her death taught me one thing, poison does dick all to impede archons and never seems to wear off from your troops.

Seems to be yet another bug.

I actually found out that you could take out(assuming we all get the same level) the two turrets on top by blowing up the part of the building beneath them.
It was great because I instantly took out one turret, damaged/shredded the other, and I did one damage to another enemy I didn't know was there
Wait, if you add upgrades to weapons, do those upgrades carry over once you've researched and built the next weapon tier?
