Pro tip: Don't wait until the AVATAR project is completed just to see what it actually does RIP my first run
Did we ever get an explanation for why the XCOM EU alien base was built on top of a nest of giant pulsating worms?
[vid]http://webm.land/media/0DqE.webm[/vid] Gunslingers OP
Wait, can you just fire as many times as you want or what?
Wait, can you just fire as many times as you want or what?
Quickdraw Perk + Lightning Hands. As long as the first move is a pistol shot, it doesn't end the turn. Lightning Hands lets you take a completely free shot as well. This leaves the final point for another pistol shot.
seems exploit-y
Especially since you never have to reload your pistol haha.
it's balanced out slightly since you can't put upgrades on Pistols. also it's kind of a shame you have to leave the Tech 1 Revolver behind. It just feels so damn right.
There's also a pistol ability that lets you shoot at an enemy 3 times in a row with the pistol, so you can shoot one guy 5 times. The only real disadvantage pistols have are the cooldowns. [editline]7th February 2016[/editline] Although, I can't say how OP they are on commando+ difficulty. You might need some dedicated ranged sharpshooters for that.
Did we ever get an explanation for why the XCOM EU alien base was built on top of a nest of giant pulsating worms?
Wat.
Wat.
Those creepy flesh tendril things during the base assault.
So was in the middle of extracting when my camera went weird, one guy wasnt in the zone at this time. Saved and loaded, when I loaded I was on the mission complete screen and he had been captured....... There goes my best sharpshooter.
seems exploit-y
In a sense yeah, but so far it's only ever come in super handy in very specific "oh fuck" situations. Rarely will you have the opportunities with high-shot chances, low HP or flanked enemies, making hunkering or moving much better. Still great to have when the odds look good. [vid]http://webm.land/media/fEE7.webm[/vid] [sp]I like how the Officer is just like "fuck it, I'm out"[/sp]
You are a god damn hero
Haha thanks, it really bugged me that hacking when you're right next to the thing cost an AP and lost me a mission because of it.
Are you gonna write a tutorial over how you did this, since you mentioned that the SDK doesn't come with any documentation? It would come in handy whenever I start making the Jagged Alliance 2 Mercs voicepack.
It comes with some as people have mentioned, but none on how to override an engine class (as I did for this mod), so yeah I probably will write a tutorial on that. [editline]7th February 2016[/editline] The Workshop for X2 is pretty popular, up to 652 subscribers on the mod already and it's been up less than 8 hours.
The MP is still pretty fun in this, however IMO it's way better than EU/EW's with the randomized maps and more units. So far I've made two squad loadouts which work surprisingly well; - Kinder Surprise: 6 chryssalids only, managed to overpower a andromedon by killing my opponents viper and berserker, spawning additional chryssalids. - Assault Force (previously Das Mutantz): 3 mutons and three andromedons, together they can lock down areas with acid, destroy cover, surpress and generally just annihilate the enemy team.
Jesus christ its like im playing long war, just had a mission that would have lost me the game if I didnt win it - objective is to destroy a relay. Figured i'd blow the wall away that it was behind and just shoot it then evac if things got bad and fuck me they did. Blew the wall open and because of buggy fucking site lines I couldnt have anyone shoot it, suprise. Turns out there was 3 pods behind that wall all of which had at least one muton. Entire squad wipes but in the last possible moment I got my last dude to roll high and destroy the relay thus stopping me from avatar losing. Next mission my guys take one step from the drop zone and spot two pods of mutons + shield advent all crammed onto a roof. All ive got is mag weapons, no special armor or anything and I god damn rushed the stuff. Time to start campaign number 12
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=618254897 I made a mod that makes the doom pips a little more lax but not gone. I don't like that there is no challenge with it gone, so this makes it so you can actually do stuff but eventually you WILL have to deal with it.
Somebody needs to make a mod that lets you keep playing while HQ is talking, I'm so sick of the game screeching to a 15 second halt because command is yelling at me to do the thing while I'm already trying to do the thing and they are stopping me
Why are sectopods so fucking good at landing their shots ? As if shooting 3 times a turn though walls with no LOS wasn't enough. Just when i thought the game was finally getting easier, it dumps more bullshit on my face...

Well RIP in peace one of my A team soldiers, I even revived him at 1 bleedout but apparently because his body glitched off the side of the building the game couldnt figure out how one of my soldiers would pick him up and just killed that option, I tried walking around at the top where the drone was and at the bottom where the ragdoll was [t]http://i.imgur.com/T1okuIx.jpg[/t] How do you get back captured soldiers?
So I decided to use the Skulljack my first time during the Blacksight Op. I'm doing a new campaign now.
So I decided to use the Skulljack my first time during the Blacksight Op. I'm doing a new campaign now.
What happens? I keep hearing about it, but noone wants to say what it is even with tags.
[T]http://i.imgur.com/q6EoCxf.jpg[/T] Soooo, okay. "Smoking Smoke". Are names truly random or are they goofy or edgy or goofy and edgy on purpose? So far I've got: "Blood Killer", "Sweaty Hydra", "Blood Spark", "Dark Killer", "Killing Edge", "Poisonous Killer"... WTF?
Operation Hot Father
Okay folks, here is the first version of the Facepunch character pool. Currently it has 23 units in them, and don't worry if you haven't submitted yours yet, I'll keep it updated. So, to begin with, here is the Character Pool. Once you download it, you go to Computer►Documents►My Games►XCOM2►XComGame►CharacterPool►Importable and place the file inside that folder. Now you gotta do some INI changed to make sure the Character Pool is always picking units from there. Go to Computer►Documents►My Games►XCOM2►XComGame►Config►XComGameData.ini Ctrl+F for the word "Character" Find these lines (The part before =) and make sure they look like this (The part after =)
InitialSoldiersCharacterPoolSelectionMode=eCPSM_PoolOnly RewardUnitCharacterPoolSelectionMode=eCPSM_PoolOnly RecruitsCharacterPoolSelectionMode=eCPSM_PoolOnly NumToRemoveFromSoldierDeck=10 XComHeadquarters_NumToRemoveFromSoldierDeck=10
Finally, once in game, click on Character Pool, Import, Facepunch and then import the entire pool into your current Character pool. That's it! I'm gonna add this to the OP as well, so it can be easier to find. If you still have some trouble figuring this stuff out, feel free to ask. I tried making this as simple as possible.
What happens? I keep hearing about it, but noone wants to say what it is even with tags.
[sp] It summons a moderately (at least for early game) strong enemy, which can be annoying if you do it at an inopportune moment. [/sp]
I bet it's a text file with two arrays that contain random words and then it just randomly takes string 1 from first array and slaps it together with a string 2 from second array.

Not all of it but enough to not drive me completely insane.
