This is why you gotta hurry at the start with setting up the ambushes
Also roofs are either the best thing that happens to your squad or the worst, depending on explosions
If you're wondering if MEC microrockets cause volatile stuff to explode instantly, the answer is yes, yes they do

Also if the last soldier in your squad is mind controlled, the mission ends and they get listed as captured:

They don't get a memorial plaque. This one was particularly gutting for me because she was from the first batch of rookies.

Free her when the opportunity arises
The aliens got hell to pay

Yeah both times I've tried it it's completley fucked up the mission for me, mostly because all of the sodding missions are timer based

They don't get memorial plaque, because you can actually rescue them. It's a random mission though.

Nice name.
i really want a mod that makes the post-mission wounds more related to what happened in the mission, and healing in mission helping you to reduce medbay times
taking one HP of damage and healing right after shouldn't end up with your soldier being gravely wounded for 25 days
Did... Did the Councilman cut me off?
He called me mediocre in the end of month debrief, and I noticed I didn't get any money afterward. Bug?

If you healed crit wounded people or just wounded in general in EU there's a chance their injury would be reduced or removed right? Unless I remember wrong

Pretty sure I didn't get my supply drop one month for no reason.
Councilman trading all the xcom supplies for Viper hookers again

I got lucky when I did that, it glitched out and skulljacked the officer but for some odd reason didn't [sp]summon the surprise[/sp] plus the officer was glitched too and whenever he moved his "sleeping" corpse would slide around, like he had wheels on the back of his body or something.

My best so far.
Hey everyone, I'm thinking about buying XCOM 2 right now. The first time I ever played XCOM was EU with the EW expansion, and I absolutely loved playing through it. So naturally I want to play XCOM 2 now because it's more of the same thing with a bunch of improvements over the first game. I wasn't planning on getting it immediately after release, but now that they have a bundle with the Steam controller I might as well go for it because the discount is pretty good and I wanted to buy the controller anyway.
However, I've noticed plenty of negative user reviews floating around. I'm not all that worried about the performance issues, my PC should be powerful enough to run it nicely, and if I have to turn a few settings down it's not really a big deal to me. People seem to hate a lot on the missions with turn limits though, is it really as bad as they say? Do they force you full on rush towards the objective all the time, or do you usually still have enough time to set up a decently coordinated approach? Are the limits affected by the difficulty setting at all?

That's kind of the point of the performance problems though
PCs that should be able to easily run it properly having the hardest time of their lives

IMO there are too many timed missions, especially in the new design where half the enemies can stun or constrict your soldiers and the other half love to go on overwatch.
Is it a make or break purchase point? Absolutely not. It just means you have to change your playstyle and tactics a lot. You can't afford to waste more than one turn, so you need to be super efficient when in stealth, and super aggressive when it's blown. It's a new meta, you should definitely take your time on missions where it allows, but you're the insurgent force who doesn't want to be captured now. You have to be quick.
Missions without turn timers are still common, and give you plenty of time to set up whatever you want. I had a friend who spent 25 turns on overwatch just to wait for a patrol to walk by.
So as long as I don't move really slowly and abuse the overwatch all the time, I should be fine? I wasn't really a fan of that playstyle in the first game, from what I remember I mostly kept pushing on with my soldiers as a unit and didn't spend many turns on overwatch cheesing.
Wow okay I didn't realize how bad the performance issues were until after 20 hours of playtime, I went to turn off anti-aliasing as someone recommended, and saw that every single graphical option was already set to off or low.
I had been getting 20fps.
Fuck.

Mostly
You can always have bad luck with the map selection and be forced to rush in a really dumb way (specially in VIP missions though) which is why most people are complaining about timers though. EW didn't had an unit that could cross the entire map and stun your soldiers for three turns in bomb missions too and that has less to do with your playing style and more with dumb sheer luck of the stun lancer missing.
There are so many missions with timers that one of the most important stats when you beat the game in the congratulatory VICTORY screen is "average timer left on missions"

I'm not even on maximum and I was getting sub 20 drops on some maps
On a 970 this game should run perfectly, they didn't have to make it for consoles so why is the optimization so broken
Has anyone got experience getting config ini changes to work when doing them through the SDK tools?
The combination of Anti Aliasing, Bokeh depth of field, and SSAO killed performance for me.
I just turned those off because it doesn't really add anything anyway.
Not mine, but (location name).

Turn off AA and DoF completely or prepare to suffer.
I have the rest of the graphical options on high/highest and I'm getting a solid 60fps most of the time.
This is on a GTX970, too.

What's weird is that, apart from the occasional mission intro and when something happens (camera switches quickly or something like that), I run the game at mostly 60 fps with everything apart from AA maxed. Sure I have a pretty meaty machine (i5 4690K, GTX 980, etc.), but I've been hearing of people with the same kinds of specs or even higher having bigger issues. I haven't encountered any graphical glitches either (tons of visual bugs, though, but it's Xcom so it's like a feature at this point). It's by no means acceptable but I had the exact same thing with Arkham Knight, too, where I could easily play it with around 30-40 fps without much bigger drops while people with better machines had worse performance.
But yeah, if you're having big issues with performance in Xcom 2, turning off or down (FXAA, SSAO) AA, AO and DoF should help out a ton.
