XCOM V4: "Svinnik - Why is Shen's daughter asian, when Shen is black?"
Is it me or the rng in this extremely fucked? Like in eu or ew if it was 70% it was still more likely to hit. In this it's like 20% and most of my shots are not even hitting when the enemy is flanked.
It should be a rule that if you want to play XCOM you're obliged to take a stats 101 course because obviously most people don't realize what "odds" and "percentages" mean.
I'm fairly often getting 90-100% Shot hit percentage at the end of my missions, though that doesn't include overwatch shots.
I'm so glad there's no longer a penalty to using explosives.
You lose out on loot drops if they die to explosives, so just bare that in mind.
So I found the data for wound times and what causes what levels of wound. the ranges are -10000% health to 20% for the first tier, 21%-50% for the second, and 76% to 10000% for the last tier. I believe that T1 is Grave Wound, T2 is Grave Wound but less time to heal and T3 is just Wound.
Secondly, these lines also have "points to heal" which I assume is a random number generated within the bounds of the tier to determine how long it takes to heal. These range from 10000 "points" (unsure how these work) to 40000 for the first tier and scaling down to 1000 points to 10000 points on the lowest damage tier.
Thirdly I found this
WoundStates[0]=(WoundStateLengths[0]=72, WoundStateLengths[1]=168, WoundStateLengths[2]=9999999999) ;Easy
WoundStates[1]=(WoundStateLengths[0]=72, WoundStateLengths[1]=168, WoundStateLengths[2]=9999999999) ;Normal
WoundStates[2]=(WoundStateLengths[0]=72, WoundStateLengths[1]=168, WoundStateLengths[2]=9999999999) ;Classic
WoundStates[3]=(WoundStateLengths[0]=144, WoundStateLengths[1]=336, WoundStateLengths[2]=9999999999) ;Impossible
Which I have no idea what these do. They might be the points regained per day based on your difficulty. But that doesn't maths up properly. So if anyone has any idea, that would be swell.

Okay so the tiers are Grave wound, wound and light wound. I just edited the times of my own game to be 10x less than the default and after a mission, light wound was 1 day on one guy and 2 days on another guy. No idea what that means for higher wounds but that is definitely the lines for time in the hospital.

Top is what I made mine, and bottom is default. I think 10x might be too low but perhaps something like 1/2 as long would be better.
why would you play x-com if you don't want to get angry at videogames?
Yeah people are going to start looking at me weird if they overhear me playing this game.
Could breeze through EU/EW on classic but man just the regular mode is kicking my ass. Definitely thinking I have to start my campaign again because I think I'm in that death spiral.
Just beat the game on Commander. It was a blast the whole way through, even with the performance problems. I got some pretty bad texture bugs as I was fighting the last fight so I had to reload, which kind of cut all the excitement short.
I think people who complain about the timers need to plan out their squad composition and their movement through the map better. I never lost any missions or soldiers to the timer, any men I did lose were due to unlucky crits or unfortunate circumstances such as getting snek tongue'd right outside the evac point. I lost 7 men in total, including Kelly. RIP.
I wish I had invested in psi a little earlier. Psi operatives take a little while to be competitive, but eventually they can do almost everything that the other classes do. Self heals, massive damage, as well as cover destruction either through Fuse or mind control, they are absolute beasts.
In conclusion: fuck stun lancers, 10/10 game would play again after performance fixes.

After a few tests, these numbers don't seem to do anything. Severely reduced and wounds are the same time.
Also have some stat screens.
-snip-
Damn son, you beat it on the first of August? I'm in october and it still feels like I got a long way to go for this avatar project mainly cause I had to start rushing Black Sites.

Got any tips in regard to both those aspects? It's hard to tell what kind of squad I need for what map or how to deal with certain obstacles/timers.

I find having one or two people with very high mobility to scout with works well, blade ranger is a good choice for it since you want mobility high on then anyway, a specialist with ever vigilant is a good choice too for the free overwatch and being able to hack advent detectors (and a mobility PCS on them helps with skulljacking which I love to do). Spider/wraith armour is a big help since grappling doesn't take an action and the wraith armour let's you run through walls, which is crazy good on urban maps. Being able to have one guy dash out and see around lets you move the rest of the squad to more efficient spots.

Oh, and battle scanners, they're way better than the EU ones, huge sight radius.

Whenever I'm going into a timer mission I bring either one or both of my concealment rangers. Even after the squad gets spotted they can stay in concealment to either go ahead and finish the objective, or spot a safe route. As for moving around a map, I tend to stick to rooftops or areas with lots of low cover. Also, don't ever dash right away when you're in concealment. Go as far as the blue limit will let you, if you think it's safe then you can dash.
Gotta love cosmetic mods, berets available for all!
Base defense mission spoilers. Xeno's ain't worth shit.
XComHeadquarters_BaseHealRate=80
found it. This is the fucking thing I have been trying to find. This is the heal rate that your soldiers recover with. I set it to 100000 and all soldiers, even the grave wounds, insta-healed. The only problem is that the UI doesn't update properly and still shows the how long they should take.
Welcome to the two turns and zero kills club.
Most of my soldiers are colonels anyway, not missing out on any xp. The default difficulty in this game gets super easy later on.
The last sword upgrade kind of sucks, it doesn't do that much damage vs the output you get with plasma guns, burning isn't that good an effect, whish it ether had a shitload more crit chance or just a better stun effect.
Made two more mods if you guys care:
2x Faster Recovery Time

and the cheat version InstantRecovery

Also, if there's a timer, you pretty much HAVE to make a mad dash straight towars the objective while you're still in concealment, cause you won't be getting more opportunities to dash the whole squad without horrible consequences
So is it just me or is the game really buggy? (Enemy Spoilers)

I honestly never paid attention to the date. :v:
The aliens had me 1 block away from losing via the Avatar project. I refused to go down without a fight, and managed to pull back all 11 blocks from them and left them at nothing after hitting multiple blacksights and a couple story parts that gave me back like 2-3 blocks here and there and a load of 1 and 2's ontop of that all one after another.
All of that mixed with new tech and such gained from research throughout gave me a decent boost. Still never even touched Psionics. I think my next campaign I'm gonna try and use Psionics and get them early.

Neat, i wonder what else you could add
Gordon's crowbar anyone?
Do PCS modules get a proper introduction to the game at any point? I'm at the point where I'm just about to research Gauss and take on my second Blacksite (which I've been struggling do to since I didn't realize I needed to build more resistance comms in the Avenger), and I haven't seen them appear anywhere.
Nah, you just obtain them through ADVENT stashes/Black Market.

They are random drops off of enemies, or you can randomly buy them from the Black Market.

Ninja'd again :disappoint:
Quick question, since all of the assets from EU/EW are included in the SDK, does that mean someone could eventually remake said games with X-COM 2's upgrades?
You guys know what's good?
[sp]Shredstorm Cannons.[/sp]
Another question: Are counter-missions to foil Dark Events completely random? When the Dark Event warnings pop up it says that "preparations are underway" but I now have two active Dark Events that I'm pretty sure I didn't get any missions for before they activated. I did a landed UFO raid but that did not counter anything.
I did a thing, it's not much but I hope it helps a bit.

Also I can't wait to read the thread but I didn't finish the game yet :v: Are there any major spoilers posted around here?
