XCOM V4: "Svinnik - Why is Shen's daughter asian, when Shen is black?"
"easy", "moderate", "difficult" and "very difficult" just refer to the number of pods/number of aliens in said pods
if it's all advent troopers and sectoids spawns, even a "very difficult" mission will still be easy. and a sectopod appearing for the first time will kick your shit regardless of the difficulty
people give way too much importance to this rating
Heuheuheu the first Sectopod I had against me died the turn I saw the fucker. I was so well prepared for that fucker I can't even believe it. I saw the UNKNOWN ENEMY appear before the mission, guessed it was the Sectopod since it was the only enemy I hadn't seen yet (well, so I thought; enter gatekeeper) and I heard it clanking around close to me. So, I put every single soldier on Overwatch where I thought he'd pop up and sure enough he did. Almost died right there and then, didn't last very much longer either.
The first Gatekeeper fucked my shit up tho, damn.¨
Also, people shouldn't look at the difficulty rating at all after having built the Shadow Chamber, just look at what pods are in the mission and you'll get a pretty good estimation of how hard it is.
The first time a Gatekeeper shows up in my game it got executed by my Specialist's overwatch.
Also for some reason a poisoned enemy (by Venom Rounds) can get executed by a damage tick if the weapon had a repeater.
Crypto wrecked my shit on the first encounter. Granted, it was my very first mission after the story event unlocks the skulljack so I was completely unprepared to face another actual enemy that turn. It was so unexpected and awesome that I couldn't even get mad.
I never had a sectopod take potshots at me until the final mission.
oh god never let them take potshots. I usually use my entire squad on one, then statis it and then finish it off.
You don't know agony until a mind-controlled Specialist kills two of your own men with godly Repeater procs. You don't know man
I'm so glad I don't play Ironman. Two instances of my soldier getting permanently stuck when the building they were standing on got destroyed beneath their feet on the same fucking mission today (reloaded it twice), the first causing me to lose 'cause I lacked firepower later in the mission to do the objective in time, the second causing my sniper to goddamn die to a [sp]codex psi-vortex thing[/sp] because he couldn't move out the way.

I think the game is trying to tell me something

I have used two advanced repeaters on basically every mission from almost the very beginning and I've never had those things do shit.
there's gotta be something more, i did a similar thing and now the result was
save > hack > success, continue on but fail with other stuff
load back the save > hack > failed, three times in a row now.
Hacking isn't determined by the typical level/alien/hit chance RNG seed, it rolls against your hackers own stats.
I have used two advanced repeaters on basically every mission from almost the very beginning and I've never had those things do shit.
I've only had it proc once and it was on a gatekeeper I was planning on mind-controlling.
My first sectopod died to a repeater proc. That's about the only good they've done for me.
So is it just me or is the game really buggy? (Enemy Spoilers)

Yesterday, on a mission, an ADVENT trooper I killed flew across the street and fell through the ground once he hit the curb.
Advanced Ammunition might be my favorite small addition to the game. Fast Hands + Quick Draw + Faceoff with AP Ammo is glorious, and a Shotgun with a laser sight and Talon rounds is vicious
I love how he first didn't have a shot at the Viper..

Bradford. Are you.... Alright?

The face of a man who lost his limbs. You feel it too don't you?
Feels good to start up a mission on legend difficulty, and second one of my rookies gets mind controlled, runs up to the center of the closest grouping of operatives, throws a grenade, and kills himself along with three others.
That fresh XCOM smell, good thing it's Ironman too.
Bradford. Are you.... Alright?
How the hell'd you get Bradford?
'difficult' guerilla mission
drops two andromedons on me (first time I've seen them), a heavy mec, and then a reinforcement ship with a heavy and a regular mec
fuck you firaxis
This is the only game I've played where I feel really clever throwing grenades at peoples walls. I tell myself "I'm changing the battlefield, the Aliens will never see this coming". I feel less clever when the entire building catches fire with me in it.
Anyone else find it weird there are only about three different bandanas to choose from?
Worry no more!
I've just released Custom Bandanas - Armour Colours/Pattern on the Workshop, so now you can have a bandana that will change colour depending on your armour colour, as well as take the same pattern effect.

aaaaaaaa
this sucks so bad, I really, really want to play XCOM2 but because it's not optimised well for lower-end machines I can only play it as a slide show of 20-15 FPS.

I have the resistance pack but I believe you go to Character pool, import to demos and replays then you can import him
Remember that bug in XCOM:EU where enemies would spawn right on your head? It's a feature now!
One action left in the turn, suddenly a flare pops up in the middle of all the troops. Hit "Overwatch", immediately after a drop ship comes and out comes a Mech and two Stun Lancers. Right in the middle of the squad, awful.
Well that ending was just about as much of a cliffhanger as the XCOM EU one was.

This is how I feel right before deploying on a mission then a bit after watching my best dude get killed by stun lancers

i had to use dash to get up on the train, even though there is an opening closer. lost the package due to this. pisses me off

Also "100% chance to hit; Miss" is still a thing :vs:
Never change, XCOM.

more like the enemy reinforcements drop inside the exact same zone as your evac point is, down to the exact middle square of it.
not that it matters when all your team has evac'd but youd figure the advent transport collides with the skyranger or something

Yeah, well... at least you can get into the game in the first place.
