Is that even a good thing ? This game felt blazingly fast to me, so much that i had nothing to build or research for most of the time, which was just boring. Choosing who would get the shiny new sets of weapons and armor was a nice tactical decision to have, i just don't understand why they'd simplify that and at the same time try to put on emphasis on recovering unique gear.
Because the avatar project forces you on the move. It progresses much faster compared to the panic system.
Just in case anyone wants to see me suffer with the Facepunch character pool, I'll be streaming for a few hours on Youtube: https://youtu.be/dkcmdJnQwmI

The way I see it, weapon module management basically replaced managing the weapons themselves. Shame we can't switch them around between soldiers though.

Just go to loadout, give the trooper a default, unmodded weapon, and then you can give someone else the modded weapon, which will show up in the loadout screen.
I failed chemistry and biology class, there's not a thing to worry about. [editline]9th February 2016[/editline] :smug:
You're a scientist in my game as well.
Well I think that's the point. The baseline suits and rifles aren't that special, but proving grounds stuff and the unique weapon mods are, so that while they removed an honestly needlessly micro-intensive component (having to switch out every gun and armor every time), they added stuff that's actually limited so you actually care about recovering
You're still switching out gear all the time though ? There's buttons for it. Having individual armor on top of that wouldn't be a massive jump in micro-managing. So i don't think having a slightly more convenient inventory management is worth losing that little extra depth. You're also given quicker access to gear you just researched because it doesn't cost a huge amount of resources to a build a single suit, so it's not really "faster", in a way. The new system just cheapens the value of everything, shit just felt a bit more special when you had to pay dearly for every individual unit, and equipping your whole squad with it was another victory on top of researching and paying a single fee.
Because the avatar project forces you on the move. And your supplies income is separate from it as well so there's less of a "you're fucked, gg" point.

"should i buy another plasma rifle or build this facility" versus "should i build this facility or jump my entire squad an entire tier", which one amounts to more decisions ? The most important thing to me, for EU at least, was that it highlighted the importance of the gear. In XCOM 2 it would be even better with the ability to lose it.
I wonder which Facepuncher will be the first to kill (one) of their squadmates.
My sniper got Rupture through the AWC. This means she can shoot a sniper rifle after moving. Wonderful.
I wonder which Facepuncher will be the first to kill (one) of their squadmates.
What do you mean? Panicking no longer cause your soldiers to shoot their childhood friends while screaming and breathing heavily.
What do you mean? Panicking no longer cause your soldiers to shoot their childhood friends while screaming and breathing heavily.
One of my rookies on gatecrasher actually managed to kill someone by shooting a piece of cover out, causing one of my other rookies to fall to his death. I actually had to doublecheck to make sure, but he absolutely did it.
What do you mean? Panicking no longer cause your soldiers to shoot their childhood friends while screaming and breathing heavily.
I was playing multiplayer with a friend and I made his sharpshooter panic and he pulled his pistol out and put one in the back of his allies head, so I guess thats still a thing. Just very rare because its the first I've seen of it in like 24hrs of gameplay
What do you mean? Panicking no longer cause your soldiers to shoot their childhood friends while screaming and breathing heavily.
Panicked Rangers with bladestorm attack friendlies. I found that out the hard way.
-endgame spoilers- http://i.imgur.com/Ea6fq96.jpg Oh no. Look at all these ayys. what-ever-will-I-do. http://i.imgur.com/vzikIL9.jpg And then they all died.
It's funny because that's kinda spoilery.
end game pics And then they all died.
oh shit that's in XCOM 2 as well? hell yeah, I was sad I could only use that power for one mission in EW. I also just realized that's some end game shit
Where's that video from Begales stream where like 20+ soldiers have their overwatch triggered by a ADVENT patrol?
Yea, void rift is the shit. I'm super glad my first psion got it as an option. Especially when it mind-controls everyone who survives into fighting each other.
What do you mean? Panicking no longer cause your soldiers to shoot their childhood friends while screaming and breathing heavily.
I read about someone in thread who had one of their soldiers go panic and throw a grenade at a group of civilians. Big chance it will affect your squadmates too.

Also, anyone here whom have begun working on models and textures who knows how to easily add new custom patterns?
Yea, void rift is the shit. I'm super glad my first psion got it as an option. Gotta love the start of the game where you can get hugged by a Viper into being GRAVELY WOUNDED.
Made a wallpaper of my 3 main soldiers. I really love how they went all out with the soldier customization in this one. [t]http://i.imgur.com/uLAOmMR.jpg[/t]
