https://gfycat.com/FlashyVastEgret<< the problem in action
I've got an odd issue where I can't append "XComGame" in the filepath to the XCOM 2 executable because ModBuddy has a forced backslash at the end of the path that cannot be removed. Also, typing any character automatically sends the type cursor back to the start of the address, meaning I need to press End after every character.
The info that is put in these boxes, in which file is it stored? I would imagine it'd be possible to simply edit the settings in notepad instead of using these entry boxes, to bypass this annoying problem.
TL;DR How do I get rid of that undeletable slash?
Just use the box with three dots in it to change it to xcomgame

I'm looking to start adding some new map parcels to the game - what do you guys think are the areas lacking variety the most? I know I've seen the same little Advent checkpoint roadblock many times over.

Love to see some variations on the overpass.
My favourite parcel is the nightclub that has prison cells and gene equipment in the backroom
Is there anything I can do about the absolutely horrible stuttering when I'm in the Avenger/Looking at the holographic map?
Is there anything I can do about the absolutely horrible stuttering when I'm in the Avenger/Looking at the holographic map?
coffee?
most people reported having stutters in the avenger so it will probably be addressed in a patch, but havent heard before about the holographic map having problems, it works fine for me.
So im currently saving changing my config for FP only guys untill ive finished the game once and I decide to kill myself and start doing an impossible playthrough.
Currently this is my lineup for big missions, they look like budget scifi actors but they are just so fucking fantastic, I even have racial diversity member as my mexican sniper.

I like the basic shape of the plated helmet but they look so stupidly top-heavy...
Also, what the fuck is the deal with 1 hit unconcious from stun lancer, I specifically remember reading somewhere that its meant to be if the target is already damaged that theres a chance they will instantly go down, not from full health while in fucking predator armor.
And an observation ive made so far,
Seems the AI acts far different in xcom 2, I dont think ive had my overwatch ever cause something to not run out to get a better spot, the enemies just throw themselves at me with zero regard for what happens in the next turn as long as they have that sweet flank shot and its infuriating because its just so damn gamey, the ai knows it has tons of units to just throw at you so it does just that, can one of my guys maybe get a kill while having a 100% chance to die next turn? yeah fine do it.
waiting for my character to be added (if i sent it, i think i did? but i was kinda drunk so maybe i didnt) so i can use the FP pool too
it gets tiresome creating all my soldiers and i feel better about killing you guys than having to download of one the thousands of stupid meme show pools from the nexus
"insert youtube channel here" pool, why the hell would i play my game with youtubers? i'd like to believe the only people fanatic enough to want that stuff are pewdiepie and bestfriendsplay fans and they're too busy never touching x-com or stalking their object of obsession
I'll update it soon, don't worry. I'm just looking into a way of making it auto update atm instead of having people have to manually edit their ini configs and adding the character pool file.
For a game that sports modding so much, it is surprisingly restricted in terms of moddability.

How is it restricted exactly? I'm browsing the SDK right now and it's quite open from what I see.

looks like obesity is still rife in the future
must be all those ADVENT burgers

Overriding classes doesn't work with every class. It's an issue that keeps popping up, and it's very annoying. Would've at the very least liked a list of classes that we can't touch.
Basically we're mostly restricted to adding new things, and a lot of native content (read: not all) is locked down.

Uhhh... every script, config and INI is open, entirely cross compatible with UE 3.5 (Ofcourse) access to all models and textures, UV's, skeletal meshes, all UPK's and UMaps.
New Classes, weapons, scripts, voicepacks, class system, function sets, maps and map gen code, skeletal base props for new rigging and chars, alien race additions etc etc etc. You are spoilt for choice.
Are you fucking kidding me, game? I threw down a mimic beacon, then an andromedon and a sectoid attacked it to "kill" it, then another sectoid fucking REANIMATED IT.

Do you feel strangely compelled to shoot at it till it dies and nothing else?

God damn mimic beacon collaborators. Traitors, the lot of them.

I've noticed this as well. Overwatch is a bit more effective in XCOM2 strictly speaking in terms of doling out damage due to perks and how it works sequentially, but it's use as a method to control the flow of the battle seems to have been thrown out the window, or at least isn't very prominent any longer.
I guess it was a bit weird for an EU/EW Muton to be too scared of a single pistol overwatch to run up and take a flank shot, but now even squishy Advent grunts rarely hesitate to run headfirst into Overwatch. It seems like its tweaked too far in the opposite direction.
Well, the timed missions makes sitting on your ass overwatching a risky gamble so i guess it balances out in the end

It went down as an unintended casualty when I acid grenade bombed the place and set up two kill zones afterwards. Hologram cyber-zombies are indeed a scary thing but it stood no chance against my superior tactics.
Seriously thought, it's a funny bug, but if I actually took any damage from that thing I'd be pretty pissed.
the sectoid AI is pretty bad in a nutshell
you blow up his cover, you and him are both sitting in the open, but there's a corpse around? HNNNGH MUST RAISE ZOMBIE
and then he gets killed/flashbanged and just loses a turn like a chump
I find it hilarious some of the files refer to pieces of code as.
IE
Berserker and Andromedon punch are Refer to as "BIG_DAMN_PUNCH" and Viper tongues commented out section refers to it as "Get over here"
They had their fun ingame too, just watch the codenames for the researches
Like "Levine" for the big d...andromedons
The codecall for failing a hack attempt is simply named "bBadThing=" and skulljacks template class name is called "SKULLOuch"
On the subject of poking around config files, I found a bunch of stuff relating to EW, like terror variables. Any idea what the story is on that?
