My long-range sniper is my MVP in most games with the most overall kills, but rangers are of course pure beasts and specialist hacking and healing is just too good, and heavy with the shred. I don't think there's any class that I could live without.
Killzone would be a lot more useful if snipers could hold more ammo. I always seem to activate it when I have 1 or 2 shots left

Killzones can be really useful seeing as you can get multiple shots in one single turn. I think that's a huge advantage. Bonus points if you get crits.

It's not too bad either anyway, aliens out of cover die so quickly. It's incredibly situational though, I never get to use it too often. That's the biggest downside about it, your sniper might also just miss all of his shots so you wasted a turn not doing much damage. Okay maybe shooting aliens in their face works better :v:
So that C&C Renegade Nod audio mod might be a bit delayed because I'm gonna have to sift through a couple thousand audio files because Westwood never bothered setting up separate folders for their data files

On my current campaign I was about one pip from the avatar tracker hitting the limit, and I had just got access to an alien facility, but a Dark VIP assassination went to shit and left my entire A-Team wounded only a few days before So I used the advice I got from here and made a suicide squad with the plan to just rush the objective and place the charge. After a bit more skulking around the edge of the map, a 2 Sectoid and Trooper pod shows up. Probably because he's the only one without beginners luck. The first shot crit for 12 fucking damage, and the two enemies he didn't outright kill were killed on their turn because he was using venom rounds. I've killed fully armoured gatekeepers with one sharpshooter because you can shoot them 5 times with the pistol if you have the 1 cost pistol shot, lightning hands, and fan fire.
The ayy's know true fear when fighting against a gunslinger sharpshooter.

Hack everything in the guerilla missions and you can set back the progress of dark events and very rarely find avatar project facilities.

is it just me or does the avatar project stop being threatening after a while? the aliens are only gaining 1 blip per month.

Seems it could have benefited with a 50% timer reduction for each time the timer was triggered.
So I got a count of how many wav files I have from Renegade: 10,011 :suicide:
So... Sniper's AOE overwatch is great for ambushes, by the way. It means the sniper fires on the initial Overwatch salvo at most every one of the aliens, AND THEN if they find cover inside the cone they'll trigger it again on their own turn.
