How fitting.
Looks like he got too old for fighting after all his contributions towards defeating the first wave of alien overlords. Now he's back to doing scientific research, just like in the good old days before he fucked everything up.
Taking screenshots with
Bindings=(Name="Delete",Command="Toggledebugcamera | uitogglevisibility | pause"
key bind is lotta fun. Shame ya need to use controller to move the camera.

X-Com keeps crashing for me as soon as I load my latest save. Anyone know the solution?
Wonder when modders will implement a way of building S.H.I.Vs again.

If your save is during a mission, did anything get infected with chryssalid poison? If they die they'll turn into a chryssalid caccoon and those break saves for some reason.
So I managed to get these stats on one of the early missions, 100% successful shot percentage seems like a glitch considering XCOMs shot percentage bullshit :v:

Yet 2 missions later and I bring home this:

Have never played an XCOM game before, I assume this is just the "XCOM" way? I also apologise for awful steam screenshots.

Sooner than you'd think, later than you'd hope
What even happens when you fully lose a campaign in XCOM 2 ? Is there a cutscene ?
It gets to a point where trying to sneak around is extremely dangerous because if you're unlucky the AI will box you in and when you eventually get revealed you're going to get spotted by a whole bunch of pods at once
This is fair and totally does not completely undermine the point of having concealment

Ah fuck, they did. Goddamnit, so basically the whole mission is fucked now? Because from turn 2 they started infecting things.

Ya you'll have to go all the way back to before a chryssalid caccoon appears. Hopefully you're not on ironman.

I'm not. But that's a massive bug. Why haven't they fixed that by now?

I had a gatekeeper completely change directions and bust through a wall my ranger was hiding behind. :what:

Yeah, here. I didn't embed it because I don't know how to embed at a certain time, and that video is every cutscene. Couldn't find one of just the ending.
Sometimes, character Generation pulls off some cool stuff

Got some questions about that date of birth, though
So whats the suggest difficulty to play on in xcom 2 . I remember in enemy unknown everything under classic you eventually just facerolled everything.
Eventually facerolling everything has (unfortunately / sweet revenge) always been the name of the game for XCom, the difficulty merely dictates how soon you get to (imo).
I'd say commander if you're used to Xcom but still want to be surprised at times (or you accept that you'll take bullshit losses), and Veteran if you want a good time all around.

XCOM veteran-bio aside, 2002 isn't too far-fletched since XCOM 2 takes place in 2035.

Oh yeah, they line up fine with the second game. It's the timeline for the first that bothers me. 12 Year old Ranking Officer, apparently

He's the Wesley Crusher of XCOM.

That's why no one mentioned it then, it makes no sense in the context of the avatar project, pretty lame.

Nah, it's just like in MGS1 where all the guards swarm you.

My cat just hit the reset button on my computer while crawling up to my desk. I was on the last few turns of a blacksite raid mission.
:why:

It wouldn't make sense if it did, the Avatar Project is top secret, they wouldn't mention it on a world-wide broadcast.

This has happened to me before, and also the cat stepping on the off button on the power strip. I've positioned a tiny traffic cone over my case button and moved the power strip to a slightly more elevated position so they go around it.

It's that the avatar project has nothing to do with stopping the resistance, so it doesn't make much sense with it being the losing condition
I'm not even sure what the completion even entails considering [sp]there are already a few completed(?) avatars and the win condition is you murder them all whereas the avatar project was just to stop the elders dying on their own. I don't think there's any explanation why the avatar project being successful would actually have any effect on the resistance[/sp]
Holy fuck I did it
[sp]Fuck that final mission though, holy shit the only way to even feasibly do it is to rush the avatars and hope to god they teleport into your line of sight.[/sp]

I honestly thought the Avatar Project was a [sp] Worldwide mind control [/sp] , hell it even seems like that's what they might've wanted to go for and then changed it but didn't want to throw the assets away and reused it during the one [sp] where you only send 4 soldiers in to hack the broadcast [/sp]

[sp]Am I just really unlucky, was having a 4th soldier an intel upgrade I didnt get, because I had to send 3 soldiers and the mission was damn near impossible.[/sp]

That's exactly it, yes.

[sp]If the Avatar Project was completed, they would have begun mass processing all on-essential human life into green goo to make their Avatars. The whole thing is so that the dying Ethereal's can gain continue to live, whatever the cost.[/sp]
