This morning I had the perfect idea for a New Vegas character: a Mad Max-esque wild wastelander, hard-clobbering (strenght, endurance, unarmed, melee weapons), intimidating, flirty but kinda-feminist Lewis Carroll's Alice expy throwing her lot with the NCR as an embarassing ally
... Gotta finish Fallout 3 fast
any fixes for suddenly getting really poor performance? no mods installed, in the survival beta. verified game cache, now I only just manage to get 30FPS on absolute minimum settings (dips down to 20~ sometimes). used to get a solid 40-50FPS on mid-high before.
Are you using windowed and/or borderless? It does weird stuff to my performance. Usually I can get around 100fps at max settings on full screen but with borderless it gets stuck around 38.

A youtuber has beaten Fallout 3, Permadeath with no healing. The game auto heals, but he keeps track of what his health was before the heal.
Achievements do absolutely nothing so there is no reason to arbitrarily lock them off because you use mods or some dumb shit. It pisses me off as much as achievements being locked behind ironman mode in Paradox games and games that don't unlock achievements when you're in offline mode.

Like if people want to chest themselves out of a challenge so fucking what? there is no reason to lock them out like that.
you're getting particularly upset over something that (in your own words) means nothing
not trying to be shitty here but seriously who gives a fuck about achievements don't let that spoil the experience for you lmfao

it would be nice if we had a quest about repairing the railroad (not the faction eh) and having some trains rolling up in the commonwealth. it could maybe be useful for material and transport (Especially in survival!) so yeah i guess :)

it would be a dope lore-friendly mod if you could hitch a couple of Brahmin to a flatbed car/wagon on rail wheels to replace provisioners, with armed guards riding or walking alongside them

it was exactly like that in fallout 1 and 2, they used car being pushed by brahmin for the caravan

If he does a New Vegas run he should call it "You Only Die Twice", but because it's a fantastic Bond title and also because of the whole headshot thing.
Oh he already did a New Vegas run. Interesting.

You should have seen the other suggestions to get it to work. It's less a problem of movement and more a way to reliably trigger when the next section of the train's path is to animate. I can't do that with the train because it doesn't set off normal triggers.
So I have to tie an NPC to the front, Mad Max style. The other solutions included having an NPC on the tracks that it slams into and kills, which counts as the trigger event. But then you'd get a level where it's just repeatedly killing NPCs.

Of course if you made said NPC s protectron or something it'd not be TOO out of place to have a robot driving the train.

Protectron with a little conductor's hat.

I don't have the beta of GECK but i wonder what's doable with weapons. I really want to edit their recoil pattern and edit the muzzleflashes.

i was thinking this exactly
have a robobobo driving the train.
protectron with voice acting for 'all aboard'

all aboard the :hypeisreal: train
It's less the aesthetics, I'm more worried about the NPC wandering off the train on accident, or the physics glitching. Gotta find a more reliable way for it to trigger things.
I thought the way Bethesda always did their NPC triggers was by toggling their AI so they can't move and hiding them behind walls and shit.
The giant underground radios for radio stations was a neat thing for fallout 3/nv
I kinda wish Fallout 4's metro tunnels were a bit more expansive. It's nice that they recycled the idea from Fallout 3 and did something good with it, but it could have used more ground to explore underground.
Having a settlement in a subway would be nice.
Metro 2287

i'm hoping somebody will turn central concord into a working settlement.
I wish there was a built-in way to save preset couples to load during character creation, although mods will come out soon enough to allow that within the game.

Creating characters is fun as shit. Could spend hours just making faces.
well it's great to know that people are enjoying the creation kit.
I can't even get my beta copy to load because the launcher is stuck on a black not responding screen
