Am I the only one playing full Vanilla here ?
I'd rather put up with lack of mods for a few months than have to deal with constantly modding shit in and out of the game whenever DLC comes out.
I only have to do it with this DLC, Automatron was fine.

I've not used a single mod for fallout 4 yet because I hear nothing but problems about them here. using these hacked-together pre-GECK mods just seems like more trouble than it's worth.
I've installed mods, as you can see by my mods list on the last page, but from all of those mods, this is the only time I've ever had a problem with them, people having problems are being fucking idiots about installing them and aren't doing it right, if you do it right like I have, you won't have problems.
Unless it's with this DLC, in which case you friggin' will.

I used mods before survival beta and had 0 problems at all, just installed them all with nexus mod manager
Are you using windowed and/or borderless? It does weird stuff to my performance. Usually I can get around 100fps at max settings on full screen but with borderless it gets stuck around 38.
nope unfortunately not, double checked to make sure I didn't accidentally turn on windowed mode
might have to just say RIP to FO4 at this point, it's pretty much completely unplayable now

Had to.
Are there any mods that interfere with the Globe Trotter achievement in New Vegas?
Wait is Homemaker released?
Wow that went under my nose, did survival go out of beta as well already?

Yes
No
Today I finished the main story of Fallout 3
I've still yet to picture why [sp]sending a supermutant completely immune to radiations inside a control room containing a lethal level of radiation in my place (an average human) is to be considered an unforgivable act of cowardice on my part, taking also in mind that said mutant (surprise surprise) survives the experience totally unscarred[/sp]

Even worse when you're with Charon.
Ghouls are HEALED by radiations goddamnit.

Isn't Charon programmed to comply to everything the owner commands him to do?
Are you saying that they came up with these wall-banging plot contrivances just to make sure [sp]your character will die[/sp]?
Your dad did it and he was cool.
Cmon don't you wanna be cool like your dad?
Fuck this, I'll replay New Vegas once I'll deal with Dark Souls III

It's a totally inexplicable and mood-destroying ending slide. [sp] Prior to Broken Steel, you were either a hero for sacrificing yourself or a coward for making someone else do it. I get it. But as of Broken Steel, picking the option where no one has to even come close to dying is the cowardly one? The fuck? [/sp]

Another thing I've still have to picture is why the Project leads and the Brotherhood are ready to go into conflict with the Enclave (and vice versa) if botch factions want to activate the Purity Project, to the point that your dad [sp]kills himself and some of his colleagues for it[/sp]
This game's plot makes no fucking sense

People will be quick to point out that while both factions wanted to activate project purity, they both wanted to activate it for vastly different reasons.
The reasons why both factions happen to be there vying for control of a seemingly useless/redundant piece of technology come across as convoluted and haphazard, though. The whole situation feels nonsensical because logically it really shouldn't have ever come about. It all adds up to be kind of a weird awkward wonky mess of a fallout plot.
Fallout 4's was a big step up from 3's, imo.
Probably because it makes zero sense.
If people are already complaining about the PC being the chosen one in bethesda games then the protag becoming Elder would have started riots.
You have absolutely zero leverage to become Elder in Fallout 4.
Idk, I agree with you that bethesda does far too much "you are the leader now!!" shit that changes absolutely nothing (see [sp]institute[/sp] and minutemen) but maxson is such an unlikeable cunt. It's like they set him up as a giant steaming twat for the original ending, but then you don't get the payoff of chucking him out.
Id also argue that the Sole survivor is perfectly qualified to lead the brotherhood of steel, by the time you have reached that point in the story line you would done more to establish the brotherhood's adgenda in the commonwealth than any other member, you would have more confirmed kills than a vast majority of their soliders, you would already have reached the lofty rank of [sp]paladin[/sp]- and that's before we take prewar stuff into account: The brotherhood's cause is the collection and preservation of pre war technology- who would know more about that than someone who was actually from that time? plus they both have knowledge that would prove invaluable to the brotherhood scribes (something im annoyed they didn't touch on in game at all) in Nate's case he has years of pre war military training, in Nora's she has enough knowledge of prewar law to have a degree on the matter. The brotherhood shuns ghouls so they would have no other sources of information like that.
And if all of that wasn't enough there's always Danse. Depending on the direction you take, the events of [sp] Blind betrayal pretty much conclusively prove that elder maxson is wrong about synths. That synths like Danse can be used for the betterment of mankind. You prove that elder maxson is full of shit, refuse to execute your friend and then!!..... you just go back to following his orders like nothing happened and pretend your mate is dead? AND then he promotes you? for defying him and showing a complete disregard for his brotherhood's core ideals?[/sp] imo That doesn't make sense- It would have been way cooler if you and Danse [sp] turned on maxson, blew him to pieces, and then had to pass numerous checks with the other higher up members of the brotherhood to justify your actions, and get them to rally behind yourself, or Danse. [/sp] and honestly if it was [sp] Danse [/sp] it would be pretty symbolic of the brotherhood's change in direction.
Y'know, it IS possible to have a special ending to FO4. It's one I figured out myself. I call it the Yojimbo ending.
[sp]It's pretty simple, really. You do the BoS ending, killing the Institute and Railroad. Then, you turn on Maxson, shoot him in the back. Then what you gotta do is get Piston Gordon and the Minutemen to blow the fucking Prydwen up. Play every motherfucker against eachother and backstab them all.[/sp]
I fucking love whenever Danse says "Outstanding!"
"Let's go."
"Outstanding!"
Even worse when you're with Charon.
Ghouls are HEALED by radiations goddamnit.
Uh no? Last time I played I'm 99% sure I was able to send Charon in there.
Obviously this [sp]isnt gonna happen because it depends on wha ending you pick, theyd never make a dlc that is situational[/sp]
It still may happen because one of those endings is decided as canon by the developer. Personally I think it'll be minutemen one, with BoS close second.
Ever since I beat Fallout and Fallout 2 a year ago I wondered why do people say that BoS used to be evil assholes? Of course, they are a bit too nice in F3 and a bit over-dramatic in F4, but I never saw them be openly bad/jerks in F1, 2 and NV. Even the canon ending in F1 paints them in good light:
The Brotherhood of Steel helps the other human outposts drive the mutant armies away with minimal loss of life, on both sides of the conflict. The advanced technology of the Brotherhood is slowly reintroduced into New California, with little disruption or chaos. The Brotherhood wisely remains out of the power structure, and becomes a major research and development house
They are only evil in a non-canon, bad ending:
The Brotherhood of Steel, under new leadership after the death of Rhombus, becomes an overzealous, techno-religious dictatorship. In 20 years, the Steel Plague devastates the newly formed New California Republic, and starts a Dark Age that could last a thousand years.
So have I missed something in those games, or is this whole "BoS are supposed to be assholes" was meant to have "in comparison to them in F3" added after it?
speaking of the endings, did anyone else had the ending where[sp]the sole survivor thought he could find his family, cheat time, make them whole again, the way they were?[/sp]
[sp] Cheat time to go back in time right before the nukes dropped fucking brilliant thinking Sole survivor. [/sp] /s.
[sp] Cheat time to go back in time right before the nukes dropped fucking brilliant thinking Sole survivor. [/sp] /s.
[sp]Just don't freak out when they take your baby and go on adventure together[/sp]

Pretty much that, yes, but they were pretty bad during the game, they send you to the glow to mock you for example, they hate ghouls and supermutant and are very agressive against Wastelanders. And they also steal technology by force from wastelanders.
I still like to pretend Nora isn't dead and she's just mortally wounded in cryo freezing until I can find some fix.
I still like to pretend Nora isn't dead and she's just mortally wounded in cryo freezing until I can find some fix.
Sorry bro, she's dead, she has been shot with a fucking .44 revolver, it's not like it was a 9mm that has been used like the courier.
I still like to pretend Nora isn't dead and she's just mortally wounded in cryo freezing until I can find some fix.
That's what I wondered the first time I played. I made sure to leave the cryopod sealed in case I happened to come across a super high tech faction who might have an unusually personal interest in reviving that particular preserved person.

Grab the Cryolator and become mr. freeze.
Doesn't the vault computer show that the SO is alive/critical instead of dead like everyone else?
