What's wrong with Mothership Zeta/aliens in general in fallout? I think it fits really well into the 1950s aesthetic they're going for
The insect removal mod didnt work but I'll still get the game (had a friend try it out for me).
What else can you do besides doing quests in this game?

cut content even revealed they even wanted to blame the aliens for the great war escalation in that dlc, like what the fuck were they thinking when they came up with that
I hate stuff like this, one of the reasons I didn't like the soldier protagonist.
The great war is supposed to be symbolic of mankind's self destructive nature and the fact that war on that scale is never justified because it doesn't really leave a winner.
So having someone sympathetic to one side of the conflict, or implying an outside conspiracy be it vault-tec, a secret society or fucking aliens, set it all up kinda defeats the point imo

Added the faces from Old World Blues and gave it some glowing because I COULDNT SEE HIS FACE on most dungeons and shit
Slight segway here, but I gotta ask, what graphical mods are you using to have your game look like that? :v:

agree on the symbolism, but wouldn't any kind of pre-war character at all "defeat the point" if that was the case?
I guess I was never too concerned with aliens ruining my immersion in a post apocalyptic video game set in an atomic 1950s future?

With most of them they would be ghouls, the great war would be two full lifetimes ago from their perspective and most of them would be outside of the military, and reality would begin to hit them hard once the fallout settled and the propaganda stopped.
the ones who were in the military like [sp] that submariner [/sp] tend to say the same thing I just did in hindsight: "why did we ever think our stupid war was worth this much destruction?"

Okay there, Pete Hines.
Okay there, Pete Hines.
That's exactly what I was thinking. I get that the setting isn't the hardest sci-fi around but it isn't exactly Doctor who. "haha it's a sci-fi game go with it!!" is such a bad justification for consistent bad writing.

IIRC the cut content doesn't say anything about the aliens starting the war. A guy who knows the launch codes is abducted, so out of fear he starts telling them everything he knows when the aliens haven't asked him anything and likely have no idea what he's saying.
Personally, I like the aliens as easter eggs, and Mothership Zeta/the Cabots as side stories with little relevance to the rest of the Fallout universe. So long as they stay out of the main plotline, they're cool.

What the FUCK is that thing crawling around on the ground after the explosion?

It's KLE-0, the Assaultron gun dealer.

Was that how you interpreted it? Because to me, it sounded like he was under some funky mind control powers to give them up.

Was there some big controversy about Mothership Zeta at the time that I'm not aware of? I played Fallout 3 years ago (and it was probably months after all the DLC had already been released), I didn't know that this was such a hot button topic for you guys :v:

I wonder what would happen if you just left KLE-0 like that and came back later, would she recover? or would she just crawl around town and her shop forever.

You come back and she has Automatron treads and complains about being an invalid

Just like everything else from before the great war, I always thought that was just another red herring. Just like Vault Tec being responsible is another false end.

As far as I'm aware, the possibility of Vault Tec being responsible was never properly explored in any canon content, only in the script for the axed movie a while back.
Regardless, I'm not saying the aliens did start the great war, because cut content is obviously non canonical, but Beth still dabbed around that possibility for awhile, it seems.

Personally I like to think a flock of birds caused the nukes to start flying.

The Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch
I wonder how many "bugs" this guy is gonna fix [sp]As in, harmless bugs that have no negative impact on the game whatsoever but make the game more entertaining, at least for me[/sp]
the only beth game i've ever needed one of those unofficial patches for was oblivion.
only glitches i ever came across in skyrim was an uncommon floating mammoth, and i thought it was funny as fuck.
So the game has cut gun flashlights. Guess what I am adding back.

Goddamnit Bethesda, finish your crap
Goddamnit Bethesda, finish your crap
cut usable fishing rod, the harpoon rifle, the chinese AK, several finished mods that are disabled, swimming animations for first person + weapons. etc etc etc
At least I want to say, 90% of this is readdable. Water combat? I am not sure.
I want someone to add the Ghoul Whale.
