I want someone to add the Ghoul Whale.
Please explain more and I'll look into it, no promises I have the skill to do anything but I'll look at it.
Was there some big controversy about Mothership Zeta at the time that I'm not aware of? I played Fallout 3 years ago (and it was probably months after all the DLC had already been released), I didn't know that this was such a hot button topic for you guys :v:
It was a big controversy among gamers who knew and cared about the old Fallout games, but in 2009, those were few in number. Most players really didn't care, I imagine.
[sp]I think Operation: Anchorage is worse overall, but it doesn't matter because they're both garbage in their own special ways.[/sp]

It's really just some fan theory from what a NPC ingame said.

Thanks man, I'll check this dope shit out.
cut usable fishing rod, the harpoon rifle, the chinese AK, several finished mods that are disabled, swimming animations for first person + weapons. etc etc etc
At least I want to say, 90% of this is readdable. Water combat? I am not sure.
The Harpoon Rifle and Chinese Assault Rifle both need quite a bit of work doing to them to get them to a decent state, as the Harpoon Rifle really needs a better model and textures, the CAR needs textures and the model could do with reworking for weapon mods, and they both need animations (though I'm not sure if they're included but just unused due to the cut weapons). Though, I really wouldn't be surprised if the Harpoon Rifle comes back in Far Harbor though. It fits the setting pretty well, and it'd be a decent way to have underwater combat. The CAR will probably come in a future DLC too, considering how finalized the model seemed to be.
But yeah, a lot of the weapon mods are pretty easy to restore. I've restored the vast majority in my mod, but there's a few that either need extensive model reworking (for very little gain considering how unfinished some models are) or I wasn't able to do them, either just due to not being able to do it in FO4Edit, or due to a lack of other resources that I can't provide.
Also, I'm fairly sure that people who have added gun flashlights in other mods have had trouble with the light properly disappearing when the gun is holstered. It's been a while since I've looked into it, though, so it might have been fixed now, or it might be able to be fixed in the CK.

I think the Harpoon gun's model looks okay but I need to look at it more, the texture is very bad though. The Chinese AR is the high-poly bake around 65k polygons so it needs a low-poly version, new animations, textures and UV maps for those textures. Overall, a lot of work but I think managable.
I don't know if the Harpoon Gun will return, they teased about a big feature that was cut and was too big for DLC so unless they didn't mean water combat, I highly doubt we'll see any sort of water gameplay.
But yes, they both need mods as well but honestly that will be very easy.
I've had no real issues with the light being buggy so far but you know, my "test" is it facing the ceiling so take that for what it is, lol. I'll research into it more. I'm using the GECK as I am in the beta so I think a lot of issues that people ran into, I won't be having.
Its cool you restored the mods by the way, I'm glad someone did it first. I'm still gonna do it myself regardless though as part of a big gun mod pack, but I'll make sure its optional so its compatible with your stuff.

Also do you mind telling me which models are unfinished? I know the pipe-shotgun is very rough, but I have not seen any gun mods so far that had unfinished models. I am not the best modeller but I might be able to fix them.

In the Institute [sp]there were a bunch of journal entries on the computers mentioning underwater salvage and synth sea creatures[/sp], so I really hope we actually see that in a DLC.

Honestly if someone can find out how to enable guns while in water, I'd love to add entire water areas. We gon be Leviathan DLC in this bitch. (Mass Effect 3 Reference)

Just gonna say right now, the GECK is very exciting. You guys will be impressed by the kind of things you can do, I already see a lot of potential here.
The problem is you can see basically nothing while underwater and I'm sure it would take a lot of engine manipulation to add some sort of believable and non-janky diving suit or helmet type item that lets you see better underwater.
In fact, the cell system for waters is complete crap from a video I saw of someone glitching the water view so they could see the sea floor as if there was no water.

You can easily remove or change underwater fog levels. There were mods for Oblivion and Skyrim (maybe Morrowind too, I forget) that made the water much clearer.
... glitching the water view so they could see the sea floor as if there was no water.
You too can try it out yourself! TEOFIS is the command to remove the murky water UI effect.
That's all true but I'm not sure how far you could take an atmospheric type of underwater zone. I can imagine it would be super awesome to walk on the bottom of the sea floor with only the power armor light to guide you but I'm not sure you could really achieve some awesome stuff just by tweaking a console command. The video I saw wasn't so much about being able to remove the water view, but a lot of it was that LODs and water don't mix kindly, which is probably why the water view is so thick to begin with.
I'd wait until Far Harbour before anyone goes ham on some GECK stuff like that. I've got a hunch they're going to add some official functionality for that kind of mapping.
Also oxygen tanks should totally be a mod for power armor. Gives infinite underwater breathing and slight rad protection.
am I missing something obvious or is the entire 'Nautical' kit set in the GECK never used in game?
Im thinking of playing fallout 4 for (kinda) the first time. Last time i just got to the gas station thingy and got bored, so what are some must have/fun mods?
Anything goes.

Honestly they should nerf the aquaboy/girl perk to only double the amount of time you can spend and lock infinite swimming to power armour with oxygen tanks or some diving modifications.
Exploring dangerous water structures loses its risk when you gain immunity to rads and drowning with a easy to acquire perk
can't you atleast give us some screen of those models, not necessarily the GECK ? I don't have the geck and i'm not planning on having it so if you can show more cutted thing that are present in the geck and not in game it would be very nice!
thinking about the map, one thing i'd really love to see is a mods that could make every location less closers, ESPECIALLY in boston itself. Every location are too close between them

"Gas station thingy" is it a troll? You didn't played even 1% of the game that you are bored.
The material swaps for Covert Operations 7 (CustomMaterialSwap001D1FEA) and Covert Operations 8 (CustomMaterialSwap001D1FF1) were switched and caused them to display the wrong artwork when dropped in the world. (Bug #20009)
Holy shit, this information is key to finishing my magazine collection! I wasn't missing the one I thought I was...
685 MB update coming in. No notes on steam. Anyone know what it is?
"Gas station thingy" is it a troll? You didn't played even 1% of the game that you are bored.
Well IDK if "bored" is the right word to use here, FO4 looks fun and all, and really its just that the story didn't quite pull me in, and so after that escort mission where you had to escort the guys to the settlement, i was just kinda left standing there, not knowing what to do next.
I'd like to give it another shot. And no, i dont remember the name of the gas station, sorry.
Edit: I mean the game expected me to want to find my wife and child, but it simply did not give me enough time to get an emotional attachment to said characters.
the story didn't quite pull me in
If that's a deal breaker I wouldn't bother lol, it doesn't get any better. Some of the side quests are interesting though

Not a deal breaker, didn't like skyrim's main quest either and would you look at that, +200 hours on the clock. I just quit playing because i didnt know what to do next.
Survival beta branch is now renamed to "1.5 Update"
Ah good, if you PC guys are getting the real Survival patch, we PS4 guys can finally look forward to getting it soon, hopefully next Tuesday.

to be fair, in beth games you can pretty much ignore the main story for as long as you want. I did that in skyrim for the longest time.
to be fair, in beth games you can pretty much ignore the main story for as long as you want. I did that in skyrim for the longest time.
Realistically this is the best way to enjoy any beth game, save the mq for last.
to be fair, in beth games you can pretty much ignore the main story for as long as you want. I did that in skyrim for the longest time.
Yeah but in FO4 you miss out on cool stuff like the Prydwyn and the BoS presence in the wasteland unless you progress quite a bit.
Yeah but in FO4 you miss out on cool stuff like the Prydwyn and the BoS presence in the wasteland unless you progress quite a bit.
Honestly it might be worth exploring the entire wasteland before the brotherhood gets there just so you can read the terminals, as the brotherhood have this nasty habit of 'removing' any relevant data to the area
FYI Bethesda still hasn't fixed being able to fast travel using the pipboy phone app :v: so if you need to get somewhere fast and you don't have a vertibird then just use that in survival
to be fair, in beth games you can pretty much ignore the main story for as long as you want. I did that in skyrim for the longest time.
Yeah, but I don't play Fallout to ignore story.
